Kenny Rogers to Perform with Dolly Parton at Final Concert

July 18 (UPI) -- Kenny Rogers will perform with frequent duet partner Dolly Parton at his final concert.
The 78-year-old country star will share the stage with the 71-year-old singer Oct. 25 in Nashville, Tenn., before retiring from live shows after six decades, Rogers announced in a Facebook video Tuesday.
"I'm going to get together with Dolly Parton for the very last time onstage. You don't want to miss it!" he said. "We're going to have some other friends there -- they're going to sing, too. So please come see me, and help me say goodbye to the business."
Little Big Town, Idina Menzel and the Flaming Lips are among the other recording artists who will join Rogers at his "All In for the Gambler: Kenny Rogers" farewell concert at Bridgestone Arena.
"It's going to be really exciting," the country star told Rolling Stone Country. "It's a chance, while they're doing something for me, for me to say goodbye to these people as well."
Rogers and Parton last performed together in public during a CMT event in 2005. The pair are known for such duets as "Islands in the Stream," "Love is Strange," "Christmas Without You" and "Undercover."
"Neither of us take ourselves for granted, and we're both kind of astonished as to what's happened with our lives and careers," Rogers said. "We're both very appreciative of it."
Rogers released his 27th studio album, You Can't Make Old Friends, in October 2013. He kicked off his final tour, The Gambler's Last Deal, in May 2016, and will bring the venture to a close Nov. 4 in Hampton Beach, N.H.
