At the end of the meeting G7 came
out with what will henceforth be known as the Bamenda Declaration.
Here is the full text of the Bamenda Declaration.
The leaders of the G7, political
parties non members of the G7 and members of the civil society met in Bamenda
on August 24, 2012 within the context of the National Forum on the Electoral
Code and the Preservation of Peace in Cameroon,
Following their deliberations,
they decided to:
¨
Put together all proposals made by the different
participants and also the various thematic documents presented by the G7
political parties in view of handing them to the technical Secretariat
responsible for drafting the final proposals for the amendment of the Electoral
Code adopted by the National Assembly in April 2012 to make it inclusive and
democratic.
¨
Put in place a Synthesis Committee made of
experts in charge of editing the final draft of the Electoral Code.
¨
Make the commitment to publish the final
document at their earliest convenience.
