A workshop to empower journalists on Business and Economic Reporting kicks on in Bamenda. The workshop which brings together journalists of the North West and West Region is an initiative of the American Embassy to boost the sector. At the end of the workshop, journalists are expected to produce stories that will attract readers.
The two-days workshop which kick started today, August 6, 2012 will end on August 7, 2012.
The resource person, Dr. Paul Hemp it should be noted is Director of Global Thought Leadership at HCL Technologies. He is an experienced and innovative writer, editor and communications executive with distinctive abilities. Business and economic news is boring and it is the role of the journalist to make it interesting. The significant of business news is that people always forget to look into the next step, thus there is the need to add a human face to it to attract readers.

To Choves Loh, National Vice President of CAMASEJ, the workshop will empower journalists to report effectively on business and economic activities as is the case with politics.
