According to a source within the prison service, the fire consumed the kitchen area in the women section and another quarter popularly known as Texas where criminals are incarcerated. It is alleged that the inmates themselves began fighting the fire before the arrival of firefighters. The fire was extinguished about 8 pm.  According what we gathered, part of the administrative block was also affected. News reports say four inmates sustained second degree burns as well as two firefighters. Prison officials say no prisoner has died and no one has escaped.
