Trouble in the Church? Primate Ayodele Blasts Adeboye, Oyedepo, Kumuyi

The Spiritual Leader of INRI Spiritual and Evangelical Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has condemned the killing of Christians cross the country.

Primate Elijah Ayodele
In an exclusive interview with DailyPost on Friday, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Spiritual Leader of INRI Spiritual and Evangelical Church, Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos, who condemned the killing of Christians cross the country, also took a swipe at those he called 'Big Pastors' for keeping quiet in the face of unabated attacks against the Church.
While lamenting the recent attack on Christians, Ayodele, said;
“They slit the throat of a woman preaching in Abuja; they beheaded a 74-year-old woman in Kano; they nearly killed another poor carpenter for not observing fast; they attacked a Church in the Niger for holding a service on Friday, and so on.
“Nigeria is getting to the edge; no more tolerance and we are moving on as if all is well. Last week, the Appeal Court ruled that hijab can be worn to schools. The Sultan came out and told Muslims that ‘if anybody does not want you to practise Islam, you can fight’.
“The fact that nobody has come out to say the Sultan did not say that means he was quoted correctly. Yet, I have not heard reactions from those who ought to have spoken. I am not scared of anybody, I will call names.
“People like (Enoch) Adeboye, (David) Oyedepo, (Folorunsho) Kumuyi, and other Big Pastors that people believe so much are holier than thou have kept quiet,” the cleric said.
While reciting instances of contentious religious issues in states, Primate Ayodele said: “Imagine what is happening in Osun State. The government said female Muslims students can wear hijab to school.
“Somebody came out to say, ‘okay, Christians too should wear white garment to school’. The governor criticised him and so-called Christian leaders came out to say the governor is right.
“Also, this man in Kaduna, (Nasir) El-Rufai says you must have license to preach or do public religious activities. Only one man has been shouting…Apostle Suleman. He has been the lone voice fighting against the government’s pronouncement. Other influential Pastors have not uttered a word.
“Nobody is ready to bell the cat. Maybe they are thinking that they will lose rich members or their connections in power”.
“Christians are being killed. People who should be talking are just there looking. If these killings lead to religious war, nobody will stay. This country is playing with disaster”.
Speaking on the way forward, Primate Ayodele advocated that all hands must be on deck to forestall religious crisis. “Even though I am still watching him, the new CAN president must take steps to put the plight of Christians at the fore front,” he charged.
“We must harmonize in this country. There must be equity and balance. We must respect each other’s religion. A man like me is tolerant. I have Muslims who come to my church that I assist. We should stop all these signs of extremism.
“There is an inter-religious boy in place. We should do more to ensure peace exists because that is the only way Nigeria can fully attain its potential.”

“One of the officials confided in me that the soldiers saved the day. They fought with everything they had until Boko Haram retreated into the bush. This would have been a great embarrassment to Nigeria.
“Four of the soldiers and and driver of one of the UN vehicle was hit. The person beside the driver took control of the vehicle. If not, it would have been disastrous for the occupants.

9 Funny Names Nigerians Call President Muhammadu Buhari

The social media seems to be the hub of strong political discussions in Nigeria with Buhari as the topic of discussions under hilarious nicknames.

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari, the 5th civilian president of Nigeria is to Nigerians what they deem him to be. To this end, many Nigerians prefer to call him some names owing to his background, political life, and the how the nation has fared under his one year administration.
However, many make mockery and humour of situations to christen the president 73 years after his official christening by parents.
Here are some funny names Nigerians call President Muhammadu Buhari:

(1) Sai Baba

This is the slogan, used majorly during the electioneering campaign in 2015. And till today, Northerners use the word frequently to praise the president. In one of his visits to Kaduna State months after election, the chants of ‘Sai Baba’ rented the air and this has stuck as one of Mr President’s name.

(2) Baba go slow

As the name implies, Buhari has been labelled a slow president in many quarters. The name became rampant during the one-year celebration of his ascension to office. Is Baba actually slow? That is left to you to judge.

(3) Goro President

Goro in Hausa language is kola and many northerners are known for consuming it. The name is rampant among southerner, especially for northern traders. Being a northerner, President Buhari has nbeen named a Goro President.

(4) Anti-corruption

Since assuming power, President Buhari’s anti-corruption war has been ‘well fought.’ With the arrest of prominent names such as Femi Fani Kayode, Sambo Dasuki, Olisa Metuh, Lawal Jafaru Isa and others, Buhari has earned himself a new name; Anti-corruption.

(5) Bubu

A name derived from 'Bu-hari'. This name is very popular among social media commentators.

(6) Daura Dullard

President Buhari's certificate saga has been on for a while. Many believed he has no WAEC certificate and this has earned him a new name - Daura Dullard.

(7) Ajala the traveler

In his first year in office, President Muhammadu Buhari embarked upon 29 foreign trips despite the myriad of challenges facing the country. Many accused him of staying of staying off the country more than he stays at home. For this, the president has been named Ajala the traveler.

(8) Old Soja

This parlance is usually reserved for retired military officers in Nigeria. Being a former military president, the name seem to be well justified.

(9) Baba Zahra

President Buhari is being addressed as such because of one of his pretty daughters, Zahra, whose beauty was in the spotlight during her father’s campaigns and after.

A Response to "As National Exco of Ntundip Abee Steps Down, Here are the Stakes and Implications”

We received this response from a certain Wanja Abdul Aziz in relation to the story we published with the caption “As National Exco of Ntundip Abee Steps Down, Here are the Stakes and Implications”. We do not know whether he a member of the exco or the Ntundip palace's spokesperson or a floor member, but since our duty is to give a fair hearing to whosoever, we decided to post his reply for your appreciation. In his reponse he raised some pertinent issues and even attacked us, but that is not our interest for now. Notwithstanding, The has been hinted that Abdul Aziz is the new Secretary of the Interim Exco of Ntundip Abee...details soon...(Worries to be answered soon, since he went personal).
Here below is the response by Wanja Abdul Aziz

He writes:

When I read what you posted on your blog, something deep down urged me to remain mute on the issue, but after profound contemplation, I thought it will be good, in all honesty, to let your readers understand the problem and draw their individual conclusions thereafter. But, there are a lot more facts that I have intentionally kept within me which would have buttressed the few points I will raise here. This is because I want our village issues to remain within us and not for public consumption on the audio -visual social media land scape by all and sundry.
A superficial glance at the article you published seemingly makes it worthy of praise, but a critical analysis renders it far fetch from reality and it beats my imagination whether any in depth investigation was done on  your part before its publication. The acclaimed reason for the resignation of the National Exco of Ntundip Abee is a concoction of the truth. This is rather unfortunate, but I want your readers to understand that the members of the so called “resigned national exco of Ntundip Abee” do not only have personal and collective interest but have also stood firm with one faction of the Douala branch of Ntundip Abee which, of course, is the Genesis of this unfortunate inflammatory rhetoric that has degenerated into utter mayhem to the benefit of nobody.
We (Ntundipians) acknowledge that there is a minor internal squabble at the Douala branch which should be solved, I suppose, by the national exco. To my greatest dismay, this same exco instead of playing their role, may be, and just may be because of the afore- mentioned reasons have opted to resign and, as if enough was not enough, they accused the Fon of Ntundip of supporting one of the factions. Who is to blame? What is then their role if they cannot amicably, without pride or prejudice resolve problems at the branch levels? Once more, it is unfortunate!
When you say that there is no exco to galvanize “Ntundipians,” are you insinuating that the former exco of Ntundip Abee was a group of special individuals who could not be replaced? Did they elect themselves or were they elected? You know as well as I do and everyone else that, when we talk of an election in a democratic forum like “Ntundip Abee, for example, it means that two or more persons contested for each and every post. Hence, if someone in all honesty resigns, others will be elected to replace him/her. This is because no one is indispensable in our village.
The picture of the report card you presented is quite a good one. But I know that one of us certainly gave you the information as per the fifteen years span you examined in your article.
Dear readers, you should know that this “resigned exco” have not been in power for the past fifteen years and as such no one and, I mean no one should attribute the development efforts and achievements of Ntundip village solely on them. As a matter of fact, this resigned exco to the best of my knowledge cannot show case any concrete project that they have realized. On the other hand, the painted picture of that report card has a negative. But I will not, as earlier mention, for the love of not wanting to wash our dirty hands in public enumerate them. However, if they Guinness Book of record authorities decides to start recording the odd things people do as some form of achievement, I will summit this list to them. God forbid!
Again, I actually wonder whether your so called five embezzlers in the Douala branch were ever granted any interview by any journalistic charlatan. Or were you, as the French people say manifesting hatred for a dog and consequently giving it a bad name so as to kill it? The plain truth is that the development of our village has never and will never depend not even on twenty five self centered individuals who think that without them the village will cease to exist.
Thank God, the eye does not only reports and criticizes. You suggested rightly that the Fon should compel those five embezzlers to “cough out” whatever that means, the sum of one million two hundred thousand francs in their stomach, I think! Is it the same Fon accused in your article for meddling and supporting embezzlers or a different one? It is funny indeed!
If we continue to manifest these self centered and egoistic tendencies, I again, wonder when a Mbum man will ever despise mediocrity and reward excellence.
Let me remind you that our young, energetic, and level headed Fon did exactly what you suggested not once, not twice, but thrice, yet to no avail. This resigned exco with cohorts in Douala failed to honour the Fon’s persistent reconciliatory efforts. It is good to keep you inform that the faction of these so called embezzlers have always honoured the Fon’s invitation and were even ready to present not only the statement of account but the “cough out” sum in their keeping, so to speak. But, whom to?
Well, I understand that in Cameroon, people think differently and say/ do things differently. But frankly speaking, whom do you think the third but last paragraph of your article can blind fold?
While I differ with you in most of what you say, I vehemently agree with you that in unity we stand and divided we fall. But let me reiterate that if we need to fall apart so that we can sustainably stand for ever, it is not only better for us but mandatory!
Nowadays, no one can deny the pivotal and powerful role the social media is playing in exposing the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of societal issues. But again, it is unfortunate when by error or design, some folks decide to use it as an all-out attempt to condemn innocent individuals particularly on issues there are not familiar with in the first place.
Finally, since this medium was use to disseminate your information or should I say your misinformation, I will also use it to let you and your readers know that the unnecessary conundrum that manifested its ugly self in the Douala branch of Ntundip Abee has been resolved, though in the absence of the renegade Exco and the interim Exco of the Douala branch. This was done on the 17th of July, 2016 at the Ntundip Fon’s palace in an enlarged general assembly attended by more than forty sons and daughters of this renowned Eldorado in the Mbum land. Thanks.

Technical School of Agriculture Nkambe Going (2)

An atmosphere of uncertainty looms at Technical School of Agriculture-TSA, Nkambe as final year students say plans by the school administration to frustrated them will meet stiff resistant. It is alleged that the students were told to pay an additional FCFA 50.000 if not they will not write the MINADER end of course examination. One student who preferred not to be named said that they would prefer to die than pay the extra FCFA 50.000 which they claim were not told. “If there is an increase in our tuition, MINADER should inform us, we were not told”, he emphasized.

It should be recalled that the reputation of TSA Nkambe has been taken into the mud by its present management. Of late, the puff at TSA Nkambe we gathered reached the point that the school administration could only get solace thanks to the intervention of the Senior Divisional Officer for Donga Mantung Division. This was when pedagogic staff of the school issued a letter, decrying the nonpayment of allowances and later took to the street to stage a peaceful protest march to the SDO's office to express their grievances.
Reasons for the falling standards of training at TSA Nkambe have attracted much public discussions recently to the point that diverse opinions have questioned whether the management was up to the task. Yet, TSA Nkambe is going down into the doldrums again as an imminent strike action looms large.  Though students have been silent over the absence of training instruments such as poultry farms, etc another school of thought holds that the sky rocket problem is indicative of administrative lapses and failure on the part of management. The bad news follows other indications that teaching and learning standards at TSA Nkambe are slipping when measured against others. Other commentators suggested that the high rate of disorder and trickery moves is a severe blow to Government and bad news for the youths who have passed through the school. "How can Donga Mantung hope to compete economically if our young people are not as well-trained as those in other places? An authoritative voice questioned.
The question many have been asking on the growing anguish at TSA Nkambe is whether what was prescribed as school fees has been respected? Given that some students were brandishing receipts showing that they had completed their fees. “This is my receipt. It shows I my paid all my fees but today July 18, 2016 I am being told to pay FCFA 50.000 tomorrow before I write MINADER Exams”, one female student argued in anger.

Looking Glass: Meet Tatah Emmanuel Bantar, The Visionary Poet of the Week

Tatah Emmanuel Bantar: The Teaching Teacher
Cameroon’s new Penal code went into effect after being promulgated into law by the Head of state, President Paul Biya. Although Common Law lawyers and Members of Parliament decried that it had numerous flaws, It is right because it’s right ( a Poem) by Tatah Emmanuel Bantar makes a spicy ode into the New Penal Code, exploring its multiple facets.  The title itself puts to test the rule of law and paints a bigger picture of it. The poem moves stealthily from equity to equality down to parity and neutrality, enduring the theme of a regular steam to control bad habits– then it moves towards a revolutionary tone and encourages good governance with recurring emphasis on Accountability, Responsibility, Integrity and Unity.
Towards the end, It is right because It’s Right explodes into a moral weapon for the powerful and right.
In this piece, Tatah Emmanuel anticipates that New Penal Code will not only resist possessions but will also create an atmosphere in which family lives will be reinforced, real estate businesses fortified leading to economic, political and social equality. He sees all these acts as the total sum of a progress towards sanctity.
Where below is the Poem in its entirety:

It is right because it’s right!

It is right!
When states operate in the ambit of justice and equity,
So that courts impart justice and judgment on the bases of equality,
And in the name of the people of a democracy trimmed with parity,
And cases are decided on, in the sole interest of the citizens in neutrality,
It is right because it’s right!

It is right!
When budgets are executed with reasoned accountability,
So that justice and equality usher in desired responsibility,
In as much as reliability and answerability ensnare integrity,
And a credible, impartial and liable leadership fortifies unity,
It is right because it’s right!

It is right!
When human laws are voted and promulgated in objectivity,
Whilst staffing and appointments are completed with impartiality,
So that decisions taken to fund equal opportunities earn credibility,
And localized gender equality stimulates citizens to exert in honesty,
It is right because it’s right!

It is right!
Wherein lives are lived to satisfy and venerate God in His goodness,
Folks the world over maneuvers in the compass of love and fairness,
So that chairs are arranged in the banquet with classic classlessness,
And without discrimination, displaying characterized righteousness,
It is right because it’s right!

It is right!
Should plans be worthy enough and more is desire of sameness,
So that booties of endeavours are allotted with even handedness,
Hence couples enjoy monogamy as a function of time in faithfulness,
And the polygamies run in squadron of spouses with guilelessness,
It is right because it’s right!

It is right!
Proviso proprietors of firms operate with fair mindedness,
So much such that employees and the likes toil in faithfulness,
And by so doing, that which is right is done in openness,
And the sum total is a movement toward holiness,
It is right because it’s right!
