Minister of Secondary Education, Jean Ernest Messana has recommended that candidates who did not register for the General Certificate of Education (exams) should be registered on the spot. As the practical part of the examinations kick start nationwide, candidates who did not register are expected to be admitted to sit-in. Reports say only 129,000 students have registered for the GCE examinations, 54,000 less than last year. Addressing education stakeholders in Bamenda and Buea recently, Minister Jean Ernest Messana revealed that more centres have been created while security has been tightened to ensure the security of students and teachers.
