Gov't to Kickstart Rehabilitation of Bamenda-Babajou Road

The Minister of Public Works has issued a Press Release announcing that work will commence on the Bamenda-Babajou road. Minister Nganou Djoumessi is expected in Bamenda tomorrow May 16, 2017 to launch the rehabilitation project. The Release further states that the rehabilitation project apart from the 35km stretch Bamenda-Babajou also includes among others, the run around track of the Bamenda entrance cliff (5km) and the urban section of the city of Bamenda. . The project which is funded by the world Bank and to be constructed by SATOM is estimated at FCFA 60.7 billion. Besides, Emmanuel Nganou is also expected to visit construction works on the Ndop-Babessi-Kumbo stretch of the Bamenda Ring road. However, a classified source in the Ministry of Public Works hinted us at weekend that a team is actually in the field collecting samples for the studies of the stretch of the Ring road Kumbo-Ndu-Nkambe-Misaje to Wum.It should be recalled that this stretch of the road remains a nightmare to the population of Donga Mantung and Menchum.
