AFCON 2019: All is Set for Sports Facilities to Meet CAF Standards and on Record Time-Cameroon Sports Minister

Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Bidoung Mpkwatt has declared that all is set to ensure that all sports infrastructures to host AFOCN 2019 to meet CAF standards and on record time. The minister made the declaration during a press briefing last July 18, 2019 in Yaounde.  
The Sports Minister gave the assurance a day after the Italian Ambassador and other officials involved in the construction of the Paul Biya stadium in Olembe took to the media rustrom to announce that the facility will be delivered in October 2018. The construction of stadia and renovation work is moving on smoothly contrary to rumours that they are moving at a snail pace. Minister Bidoung Mpakwatt reminded stakeholders that after the 2017 edition in Gabon, “we must together win the AfCON 2019 in Cameroon at the organizational level, before the final victory at the sporting level”. Cameroon from what the minister said is ready to organize the grandmother of soccer fiesta come 2019. All the sporting facilities the minister reechoed will be completed three months before the football competition starts.
Its worth indicating that matches for AFCON 2019 will be fielded in other stadia in Limbe, Douala, Yaounde and Bafoussam.
