23-year-old Achaba (Okada) Rider Wins Parliamentary Seat

A young commercial motorcylce rider and university student has shocked many after defeating his opponent to win a seat in the parliamentary election in Kenya.

A 23-year-old man, Paul Mwirigi  defeated rival Joseph Mwereria to win Igembe South Parliamentary seat in Meru County with 19,366 votes and has entered into records as the youngest politician in recent times in that country. Not only is Mwirigi a young politician, he is also a part time Okada rider in Maua town anytime he's on holidays.
 Mwirigi is also currently a third-year university student. His campaign was financed by his supporters. He ran as an independent candidate, while his rival contested on a Jubilee Party ticket. Several youths who have kept listening to the idiom that they are leaders of tomorrow have been inspired by his success story. Youths are no more leaders of tomorrow because their tomorrow is today, many have said
