Ntumfon Ta Shey Franklin Ndzi Nformi aka Ta Shey Frank has been elected as the National chairman of Mbum Sheys Union-MBUSU. This was during the elective General Assembly of MBUSU that took place during weekend at Jua Hotel in Bamenda. Ta Shey Frank emerged winner after crushing his contender Ta Shey Nformi Marcel to takeover the chairmanship of the biggest lobbying forces in Mbumland.
It should be noted that the Wimbum people have several traditional titles often conferred on meritorious sons and daughters amongst them the Sheys. The Sheys are members of the village supreme organ known as "Kwifon, Ngumba or Nwarong and Ngiri secret societies. The title of Shey is always marked by the wearing of a special cap on the beneficiary. Some of the titles are inherited while others are conferred the title for doing extraordinary things in the village. The Sheys and Tantohs are the leaders of Nwarong and until a young man is initiated, he can never enter the Nwarong house. The Nwarong is part of the Wimbum Cultural heritage with its title holders spread nationwide and even in the diasporas. In the Wimbum traditional setup, Sheys have a very important role to play in enhancing cultural and social values. Given their impotance in propagating and preserving the Wimbum culture and tradition, Ntumfon Ta Shey Franklin Ndzi Nformi will lead an executive made up of the following;
Chairman: Ntunfon Ta Shey Franklin Ndzi Nformi, Vice: Ta Shey Nformi Marcel, Secretary: General Ta Shey Mohamadou Koyoh, Vice SG: Ta Shey Ngwang Dickson, Financial Secretary: Ta Shey Njooh Eric, Vice Financial Secretary: Ta Shey Vitalis, Treasurer: Ta Shey Nche William, Vice: Ta Shey Blaise. The Chief Whip or Discipline Masters of Mbusu: Ta Shey Nkeh Francis and he will be assisted by Ta Shey Edwin. Elected as Adviser of the union was Ta Shey Nkwiyir while Ta Shey Jato Richard Tonga was elected to the position of Public Relation Officer and Ta Shey Nsa will head the Resolution Committee.
