A Communique of the Presidency of
the Republic read today April 19, 2013 indicates that the French
tourists abducted in Cameroon have been freed. According to the
communique signed by Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, the seven French citizens were
handed over to the Cameroonian authorities. They are in good health,
the release said. Accordingly, Cameroon government further expresses
thanks to the Nigerian government for their collaboration. The
Presidency further expresses it determination to ensure that Cameroon
remains a land of peace and a welcoming nation. It should be recalled
that the seven French citizens were held hostage by the insurgent Bokok
Haram since February 19, 2013 and were taken to an unknown destination.
