Donald Trump - Kim Jong-Un Handshake: A Lesson to Peace

The United States president, Donald Trump and North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un have finally met in Singapore.

Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump finally meet

Donald Trump has met Kim Jong-un, shaking the North Korean leader's hand and posing for the cameras at a historic summit in Singapore, The Independent reports.

Mr Trump arrived at the Capella hotel on Sentosa island looking slightly pensive, fiddling with his jacket buttons; Mr Kim appeared relaxed.

The pair greeted each other at a luxury hotel on the island, just off the Singaporean coast, before heading in for talks about denuclearisation.

It is the first time sitting leaders from both countries have ever met and marks a remarkable turnaround in the men's personal relationship.

With somber expressions, the two men opened their highly anticipated meeting in Singapore shortly after 9am local time on Tuesday.

The pair met in front of a back drop of American and North Korean flags - a sign of how quickly relations between the two countries have thawed.

President Trump extended his hand first as they reached each other. The handshake lasted at least ten seconds, with Trump adding a paternalistic pat on Kim's right arm.

As the two shook, Kim could be heard saying “Nice to meet you Mr. President.”

Mr Trump, who is 6 foot 3 inches, towered over Kim, who is around 5 foot 7 inches and close to 40 years younger than the US president.

Once inside the pair appeared to warm up, smiling as they chatted after their initial handshake.

“We will have a terrific relationship, I have no doubt,” Trump said in brief remarks to reporters.

“It was not easy to get here,” Kim said. “There were obstacles, but we overcame them to be here.” The two men then exited.

Mr Trump – legs spread apart, fingers forming a triangle – said he agreed and reached out to offer another handshake.

They clearly wanted to get down to business.

Convoys carrying Mr Trump and Kim set off from their respective hotels earlier in the day, with the journeys broadcast live on cable news networks.

Mr Trump had issued a series of tweets on Tuesday morning before the meeting, addressing domestic politics as well as his summit.

Do You Know You can Make Money with Your Car? Here are 13 Easy Ways

In case you are unemployed and broke and you have a car, these are several ways by which you could make money with your vehicle.

File Photo

Sometimes, the cost of maintaining a car could drive one crazy. No wonder many believe that a car is a liability.

Well, you can actually transform your car from being a liability into an asset.

There are many things you can do daily to take your car from being a money-draining machine into a money-making machine.

Autojosh.com lists some ideas that can help you earn some extra money for yourself with your car:

Taking children to school and picking them up

You need to be a parent in order to really appreciate this service. Making 2 trips to your children’s school daily is such a chore. Most parents will gladly pay you so that they do not have to do these trips twice a day.

So, with your car, you can take children from multiple families to school. The fees could be per child or anyway you feel convenient. You can also charge them either weekly or monthly. Of course, you need to show proof of being responsible enough for parents to be able to trust you with their children.

Providing Ride-Share services

There are a growing number of ride-share companies out there. They include Uber, Taxify, Oga Taxi, etc. You can enlist your car and become one of their drivers. Using your car to provide ride-share services offers more flexibility and options than you might realize. You do not have to drive all the time. You can drive only when you find convenient. You can also do this together with your regular job. In addition, drivers enjoy several bonuses from the company.

Delivering Food

You can use your car to deliver groceries or other foodstuffs to people who are too busy to go to the market. You take their order, you go to the market, get their groceries and deliver it to them. Then you get paid.

Offer Driving Lessons
With your car, you could use it to offer driving lessons to learner drivers.

Rent Out Your Car

You could list your car as a rental car. This make a whole lot of sense especially if you have an extra car that you do not use often. Fees should be paid on how long it would be used or how far it would be driven. Of course, the car should be returned fully fueled. As a renter, it is very important that you verify and create a profile of your renters that would include proof of licence. Also, ensure that the car has tracking device installed. Especially the type that enables you to remotely demobilize the car.

Deliver Foodstuff For Restaurants Owners

Restaurants owners go to the market frequently to buy the requirements for their business. You could have an arrangement with some of them to convey them to and from the market.

Transport Other People’s Equipment

There are professionals who move around with the work equipment. For instance, TV production people. You can make them aware of the availability of your car to move them and their equipment around. But for a fee of course.

Wedding Chauffeur Service

You can advertise as a wedding chauffeur. If your car is decent-looking enough, it can be hired to transport intending couples on their wedding day.

Convey Workers To Work

You can have an arrangement to convey workers who reside at a particular location to their places of work. For instance, you could transport workers in you area who work at Victoria Island every morning to work. You can work out an arrangement for them to pay you weekly or monthly.

Do Paid Advertising

There are companies that pay people to wrap their cars with their adverts.

The longer your commute, the more you can be paid to wrap your car with their adverts. The more you drive, the more exposure the businesses get. So, they will be willing to pay a premium for those who cover lots of distance. Depending on your commute, location, and the campaign, you can earn a good sum with your car.

Start a Taxi Business

Indeed, you can earn income by starting a taxi business. And you have just what it requires: a car.

Lease To Company

You can lease your car to a company for use as one of their official cars. You can be paid monthly, or weekly or in any way you negotiate for.
Weekend Services To Families

There are families or individuals who do not own a car. Once a while, especially weekends, they often have a need to hire a car. Look out for such people and offer them weekend driving services.

Nigerian Reggae Star, Ras Kimono Is Dead

The Nigerian music industry has just been thrown into state of mourning with the sudden death of an iconic veteran reggae music artiste.
Veteran reggae artiste, Ras Kimono

Popular reggae artiste, Ras Kimono, is dead.

A close family source confirmed this to Channels Television in a telephone interview on Sunday.

The source revealed that the reggae musician was rushed to a hospital in Ikoyi after he slumped on Saturday.

He added that Ras Kimono later died in the hospital on Sunday.

Also confirming the death, a factional Chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Tony Okoroji told Channels Television that he had visited the legendary reggae musician in the hospital.

Okoroji, who said he shook hands with Ras Kimono, lamented, “This is a terrible loss to the music industry”.

“COSON deeply regrets to announce the passing on of a frontline member of our board – great African and great musician, the reggae toaster, the great Ras Kimono Onwubuya,”
he added in a text.

Similarly, President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Mr Pretty Okafor, said he was shocked when he received the news that the reggae artiste had died.

Ras Kimono rose to stardom after the release of his debut album ‘Under Pressure’ in the late ‘80s.

His style of music was significantly influenced by the hardship he experienced in his early life.

The late reggae music icon won several awards including the Nigeria Music Awards and Fame Music Awards among others.

World Cup Manners: Super Eagles Coach Bans Players From Eating Pepper Soup Meat

As the players get ready to face other countries at the World Cup, the Super Eagles have been banned from eating certain kinds of food.

Gernot Rohr
Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has banned spicy foods such as pepper soup and goat meat for his players as they prepare for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The Super Eagles are camped in Austria where they are intensifying preparations for the tournament before they travel to Russia.
Consecutive losses to England and the Czech Republic have raised doubts among supporters on the team’s chances at the tournament.
Rohr is however intent on keeping his players in good condition for the tournament which includes restriction of certain meals for the players.
In an interview with Omasports, Rohr stated that the Super Eagles players will not be permitted to spicy foods.
He said, “The reason is because nutritionist will tell you that too much spicy foods is not good for athletes.

“We have to observe what they tell us, and the medical team agreed that we cannot eat too much fat and too much spice."
He, however, stated that there may be instances whereby the strict laws may be relaxed.
He said, “For instance, there can be an exception on Sunday the night we will be here, there will be a little Austrian music, perhaps a little African food, from Madam ambassador so we will see.”

FIFA Suspends Ghana FA Boss for Alleged Bribe Collection

Ghana Football Association boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi has found himself in serious mess after being caught on tape collecting bribe.
Kwesi Nyantakyi

Ghana football boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, a member of FIFA’s decision-making Council, is under investigation for possible ethics violations and has been provisionally suspended for 90 days, the global soccer body said on Friday.

The ban was imposed one day after the Ghanaian government dissolved the country’s football association (GFA) after officials, including Nyantakyi, were shown in a documentary allegedly taking kickbacks.

Nyantakyi has not replied to multiple requests for comment while the GFA has said it would cooperate with any investigation.

Nyantakyi, who has been GFA president since 2005 and was elected to the FIFA Council in September 2016, was filmed in a hotel room appearing to take a $65,000 bribe from a supposed businessman seeking to sponsor the Ghanaian football league.

Information Minister Mustapha Abdul-Hamid said in a statement on Thursday that the government was shocked and outraged at the contents of the documentary and would refer the alleged culprits to the police for investigation.

FIFA has not yet commented on whether any action will be taken over the GFA’s dissolution.

The global soccer body does not accept any third party, including government, interference in its member associations.

It could respond by suspending Ghana’s membership, which would mean the country’s national teams could no longer compete in international competition. Ghana missed out on the World Cup which starts in Russia on June 14.
