Meet 23-year-old Jyoti Amge, the Smallest Living Woman in the World Who is Now Married (Photos)

Meet Jyoti Amge, the smallest woman ever, according to Guinness World Book of Records, who has finally gotten married to the love of her life at the age of 23.
The world's smallest woman

23-year old Indian woman identified as Jyoti Amge, has been awarded by Guinness World Records as the smallest living woman, a title which has been holding since 2012.
Born in December 16, 1993, Jyoti, has a height of 62.8 centimetres (2 ft 0.6 in) and from medical records, her restricted height is due to a growth abnormality called achondroplasia – which means she will never grow any taller than 2 ft 1 in (0.64 m).
As the smallest woman in the world, it’s not all negative for Jyoti Amge; her status has also taken her to greater heights. She ended up living her dream of becoming a Hollywood actress when she was cast in the fourth season of American Horror Story: Freak Show as Ma Petite.

While speaking of her life growing up in an interview, Jyoti said her new found fame has made her feel better and more important in the society.
“I’m very happy to be the world’s smallest woman. Getting this record has made me feel better about myself. I feel popular, special and important. It was always my dream to come to London, to see Tower Bridge, the London Eye, and Madame Tussauds."
Getting the attention of people is something Jyoti Amge has gotten used to all her life. Although it made uncomfortable at first, she said she finally learn to live and enjoy it.

“In India, when I go around I hate the feeling of having a crowd around me, just standing there staring at me. They just come to look. It makes me feel uncomfortable. So sometimes I cover up my face with a scarf so people don’t recognise me.
“I am proud of being small. I have the same thoughts and the same dreams as you. I would like to be an actress in Hollywood and win an Oscar. The only difference is my height.
“The worst part about being so small is that I always have to rely on someone. I can’t go anywhere on my own, so I’m always dependent. I can’t run or walk too fast. If I was taller for a day, I’d just go off on my own independently.”

At 12lb, Jyoti Amge is only nine pounds heavier than when she was born. She talked about when she first realized she was smaller than other people early in life.
“I was very young – just three years old. My mum and dad took me to the hospital to find out why I was not growing properly like the others. At the beginning, I used to be very upset about the fact that I was not growing. I didn’t like how people stared at me.”
Speaking of her attire, Jyoti said all clothes and jewellery are custom-made. “There’s a mall in India where I always go — the only place I can find clothes in my size. I go to a special shop for my rings. They measure my fingers and order the rings in specially.”

Jyoti and her husband

Other than chatting on social media, playing video games and watching TV during her spare time, Jyoti Amge said she loves to hang out with her friends; who usually carry her since they’re much taller.
As for romance, Jyoti insists that’s not an option for her. “I’m not looking for a boyfriend — but if I was, he’d have to be prepared to carry me around everywhere,” she said.

Free Boys FC Wins First Edition of Kwefi Blessing Fanyu’s Football Tournament

There was euphoria and fanfare in Njap village, Nkambe Central subdivision where hundreds of youths from far and near gathered to applaud Kwefi Blessing’s efforts to promote the football nursery in that village. The sound of the vuvuzelas and the noise from football fans and supporters went echoing into the lowlands of Ngie, down to the valleys of Mantu and Ngong while the drumming and singing could also heard right up the hills of Mbuuh. It was emting signals that something significant was taking place in Njap village. In fact, it was the finals of the first edition of a football tournament donated by a young dynamic entrepreneur, Kwefi Blessing Fanyu based in Yaounde.  This football tournament for both men and women was described as the first of its kind in Njap village to be sponsored by a young girl.

The tournament which has been described by football lovers and observers as a unifying tool entered into records as one of the biggest crowd pulling event this year. In fact it was a moment of merry making as many young girls who could not have the opportunity to salute her efforts in promoting football did theirs in songs.
In the male category, Free Boys FC crushed Boujo FC to win the trophy of the day. In the female category,  The Young Shall Grow also emerged winners of the 2017 edition. Talking to us after such an exploit, Kwefi Blessing said when she was waking up to life, one of her dreams has been to promote youth activities, reasons why see decided to sponsor the tournament from her little earnings. “I have been dreaming of making people happy since I was a kid. And the only way is to organize something like this” he added. She however emphasized that she is leaving Njap back to Yaounde very satisfied with prospects of supporting some talented players spotted during the tournament. Those who took time to attend the finals went home more satisfied than when they were going. The lesson has been a touching one, that what a man can do, a woman can also do it with alot of dexterity. Her humble success in the tournament is a eye opener to many young women in Mbum land who have failed to think out of the box. She is the woman emancipator of the month even that every young girl in Njap village and surrounding villages look up to her as their role model. Her trappings in contributing to village animation through football is what is making news in the entire Donga Mantung Division.

Fitness Model, Igbokwe Manka’a Mercy Ulomachi Shu Speaks out, Reveals Her Exploits

Manka'a

Igbokwe Manka'a Mercy Ulomachi Shu aka DBG Manka’a is a Cameroonian by nationality, married to a Nigerian Metering Engineer. Having set her sights on becoming a woman emancipator, Manka’a founded Inspireme (while working with Crystal Valley modeling Agency in Buea-Cameroon in 2011). Her guiding courage to: Innovate-Initiate-Inspire African youths with a keen interest in women for community impact led to the creation of the groundbreaking inspireme|Pageant that gave birth to Miss Diligent Africa Pageant. Her desire to empower girls with great values took Miss Diligent contest from the buds in Cameroon to Tanzania and Nigeria.  She is currently based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, where she lives with her lovely family. She is a mother of an adorable girl. Being creative and innovative is what defines her abilities to make the different.
The news at hand is that her innovative exploit as Fitness Model is a miracle solution to women who stress everyday trying to get fit. Many of you might wonder how she manages to handle being a mom with a little girl and also a fitness model as well, you will understand better as she opens up to talk about her new initiative as Fitness Model.
But harping on her new exploit, Manka’a says getting “Marriage, raising a child and getting to explore a new world (Nigeria) is shaping my perspective in a lot of ways. All the things I did in the past are great and the future is pregnant with a lot of possibilities and great prospects. Until then, I have decided to venture into modeling again, this time as a fitness model”.

Excerpts

Could you tell us why you decided to go into Fitness Modeling?
Many people look at me and go, “please, tell me your secret”. “Please, help me I need to work on my weight…”  I have had people not just on social media but also in real life come up to me asking me what I did to get back into shape after child birth. To that effect, I created a whatsApp group call FitLady. It’s a platform where we share fitness tips, recipes for weight loss, pictures of our workouts and our fitness journey. This helps us to encourage and motivate ourselves.

How many women are you actually working with?
I got 6 ladies for a start. Five of them are mothers; three are based in Cameroon, two in Nigeria and
one in UK (she is a Cameroonian too). Well, keeping healthy and fit has always been a lifestyle for me.

Tell us how you handled your pregnancy?
While I was a student and growing up I had embraced fitness as a life style. I use to exercise before I was pregnant, I exercised throughout my pregnancy and I took on exercise again 6weeks after delivery (postnatal checkup) upon my doctor’s approval. With such a lifestyle and organic feeding, I have managed in stay active and in shape. I eat lots of fruits, vegetables and proteins while cutting down on sugar and carbohydrates. Nevertheless, it isn’t an easy life style to take on. It’s quite challenging but it pays off big time. Exercise will help you body recover after child birth in amazing ways. It could also help prevent postnatal depression.

Madame, what motivated you to venture into Fitness Modeling?
I believe that I can inspire, influence and motivate people especially mothers to keep fit and stay healthy. The image people have about mothers in Africa is quiet funny. They often think mothers are overweight, with their bodies covered with stretch marks, they are not as fabulous and good looking as they were before child birth or single ladies who have all the time to take care of themselves and the likes. I want people to think differently of women who have gone through child birth. I want mothers to believe that they can still be fit, s*xy, and fabulous. I want to promote Fitness| Health | Fabulousity. I want mothers to know that they don’t need to be threatened by the fact that single ladies are going to get the attention of their lovers and husbands because of the changes they have undergone after marriage and child birth. Besides, the health benefits are enormous. Low impact exercise is generally recommended for pregnant and nursing mothers. Start with walking, gentle stretches, pelvic floor exercises, deep stomach exercises, breathing exercises and the list goes on. As you gradually recover and get stronger by the day, push your limits slowly and surely. You will get strong enough to challenge yourself further into doing more intensive exercises. Before you start exercises during or after pregnancy, get a doctor’s approval just to be sure you are in good form health wise. You can also build activities into your day. Use the stair case more, walk short and long distances instead of taking a car. Generally, get active throughout the day.
Remember it’s a journey; you can’t get there in a day. Just keep pressing on and enjoy the journey every step of the way. Our wellbeing as women is paramount. A healthy and happy woman makes a healthy and happy family which in turn plays positive on the wellbeing of our communities. If a lady takes proper care of herself, she can take care of others.

Finally, how do you intend to reach out to all the women out there?
I plan to take on off and online campaigns with a team I am putting together. Some campaigns slogans I plan i initial are: #Operationfitmom #Warriorwoman #Awomanisawarrior #Stillinshape and many more. My team will also be doing some work on getting Companies on board. Companies with interest in fitness, health, fitness diets etc we will be looking forward to getting some deals as brand ambassador. This will get me involve in marketing fitness wears, equipments, health products and the likes using my image.

Wow, interesting indeed. How can someone get to you?
In fact, we are operating as a fitness brand. However, we have a manager and media team.

UN Declares North Korea as Global Threat

The head of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization revealed that North Korea is now a global threat following its successful nuclear test.
North Korea has evolved from being a regional menace to a “global threat,” the head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog has said.
Yukiya Amano, head of the International Atomic Energy Authority, told CNN that North Korea’s claim that it had tested a hydrogen bomb on Sunday represented a “new dimension of threat.”
Tensions have risen on the Korean Peninsula after the test at the weekend. Seoul launched a series of live drills in response and boosted the deployment of a controversial US-made missile defense system, THAAD.
“I think the North Korean threat is a global one now. In the past people believed it was a regional one, that’s no longer the case,” Amano, director general of the IAEA, told CNN.
“It is a global threat now and it combines nuclear weapons and missiles.”
The head of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, which monitors and verifies seismic and nuclear activity around the globe, said North Korea’s test triggered “one of the biggest tremors ever recorded by our international monitoring system.”
“We’re talking about a magnitude of six, this is the highest we’ve ever recorded and this is a clear indication that the nuclear weapons program with North Korea is reaching a completely different level,” Lassina Zerbo, Executive Secretary of the Vienna-based organization told CNN.
While the IAEA could not determine if the explosion came from a hydrogen bomb as North Korea claimed, Amano said the bigger yield of this latest test means “it is safe to assume North Korea is making significant progress.”
NORSAR, a Norway-based group that monitors nuclear tests, estimated an explosive yield of 120 kilotons, which means the power of 120,000 tons of TNT. South Korean officials gave a more modest estimate of 50 kilotons.
“We do not have the capacity to determine whether it was a hydrogen bomb or not,” Amano said.
“Some analysis by other organizations is ongoing but it is difficult. In light of all the experience of the IAEA following other nuclear programs of North Korea, North Korea generally does what it says it is going to do.”
The IAEA established a North Korea team this summer and the group is preparing to go back in but needs the necessary equipment and a revised plan, he said.
“North Korea is one of the countries where it’s most difficult to guess their next step,” Amano added.
“It’s not at the nuclear weapon stage under the treaty but it is clear that North Korea has some nuclear weapons, nuclear explosive devices and missiles.
“In the past the threat of North Korea was related to nuclear weapons. Now the North Korean threat is related to nuclear weapon.”

Ahead of SDF Elective National Convention: Fru Ndi's Challenger Spits Fire, Decries Cabal Attempts to Replace Investiture

Felix Teche Nyamusa, the self-proclaimed SDF Chairman/2018 Presidential candidate pending
Teche Nyamusa
primaries has decried attempts by some SDF bigwigs to thwart is political ambitions. However, by virtue of the fact that he is a militant of the SDF, many an observer think he has the legitimate right to that position given that Chairman Ni John Fru Ndi has been there for 26 years. Whether those claims are legitimate or not is not the issue at stake now. The news at hand now is that Teche's pontification as being SDF Chairman/2018 Presidential candidate pending primaries has become a thorn in the flesh of  SDF bigwigs especially Fru Ndi;s closest supporters. This is so because Teche Nyamusa has defied all sort of intimidation. The Eye is aware that utterances have been made by some bigwigs describing Teche as not being a militant of the SDF. Though he (Teche) once served as SDF Communication Secretary when some of them were not even militating in the party. Yet their closeness to Fru Ndi maybe helped to catapult them up the ladder where they didnt even care to check who was there or had been there.  The difference between Teche and the present SDF (especially those who claim to be close to Fru Ndi) is very clear. Teche still has the spirit of the SDF of the 90s while they are of the andriod group of militants who see nothing in anything except it is in the form of bread. The question many have been asking is whether Teche is such a big threat to the natural candidate of the SDF. The Reporter Newspaper in a critical analysis captioned "Who in the SDF is Afraid of Teche Nyamusa"? outlined that Fru Ndi's closest supporters see Teche as merely a bird dancing in the middle of the road while the real drummers in the bushes. To The Reporter newspaper, those who hold this opinion believe that Teche Nyamusa is fronting for some people who want to challenge Fru Ndi but do not have the courage to do so. It is said in some cycles that if Fru Ndi opens up to teach Teche Nyamusa a lesson at the convention, giving room for others to participate, he will be shocked at the numerous candidates that will emerge from his armpit.  Though a school of thought holds that Teche Nyamusa was already floored at the district level, Teche moved the opinion void citing SDF manifesto. He said the said elections were organized in his absence

Here below is the latest stinker by Teche Nyamusa to the SDF Party.....

  Felix Teche Nyamusa, SDF National

Chairman/Cameroon 2018 presidential Candidate (pending primaries)

                                                                       30/08/17

The chair SDF National

 Investiture Committee

Sir,

A cabal attempts replacing SDF Investiture

Our party, SDF electoral laws for elections into the National executive committee (NEC) –   “Opening of nominations to post in the national executive committee (NEC)” section G Discipline prescribes as follows: “To ensure that during the built-up to the convention, no disciplinary proceedings are used  as a means: of stifling debate:

Of denying members their basic or democratic rights:

Of solving private problems or interfering in the private lives of members, no new disciplinary proceeding should be initiated against any member of the party until a new National executive committee is in place at the upcoming convention, safe as otherwise decided by the National Executive committee. Candidates who injure the honour or reputation of another candidate by direct or indirect imputation of allegations that cannot be proved should be reported in writing, with the fact well laid out, through the national secretariat to the National Investiture Committee”. Based on the above, I write this second official complaint. It’s worth reminding here that the first protest was on the illegality  of organizing primaries  by my district - the SDF Bamenda II electoral district executive  committee unadvertised, without notifying me ! Attendance at this manipulated gathering was less than 90(ninety) militants meanwhile the party constitution gives as rule  for organizing primaries at such level to solely a well advertised electoral conference which for the case of Bamenda II has above 800(eight hundred) delegates – embarrassingly the reply to this first complaint is still awaited about three months after I submitted it , and chairman John Fru Ndi heads the Investiture committee ! John Fru Ndi as outgoing chair stands accused here of directly or indirect manipulating this grass root organs into errors to favour himself.
After the first attempt to fraud attracted public, my cry, the Fru Ndi Cabal  now hatches other absurdities :
- Nyamusa does no belong to SDF
- Nyamusa belongs but to SDF Mbengwi
-Nyamusa has not brought transfer certificate from SDF Mbengwi
All these confused unfounded allegations are strategies to maintain John Fru Ndi who is very tired unproductive to remain in office unchallenged while militants particularly the SDF grass roots and Cameroonians who thirst for change to come from SDF to remain disillusioned in abject poverty  while Fru Ndi and a handful multiply their bank accounts caressing Biya/CPDM …. This we say for the umpteenth time is unacceptable. The Nyamusa Campaign completely renounces it!  Felix Teche Nyamusa SDF National chair candidate/Cameroon 2018 presidential hopeful (pending primaries) before going to Mbengwi was an executive member in SDF Bamenda at the district and was also appointed on the regional communication subcommittee. Nyamusa left SDF Bamenda for SDF Mbengwi without a transfer document, he has returned to Bamenda in  same SDF ward, what then is this noise of transfer certificate by Fru Ndi fans ? Transfer certificate is no requirement in the SDF till now that Nyamusa bids to contest the National chair position. What is required is member(s) public participation in activities, contributions; party cards which Nyamusa more than possess! They block me from entering the party secretariat where SDF information is displayed, discussed, assembled, distributed … This is the most chronic, primitive form of stifling debates thus thwarting the SDF progress orchestrated unfortunately by no other person than Fru Ndi and his surrogates . The Nyamusa campaign, Cameroonians, democracy enthusiasts think John Fru Ndi should be stopped from this race. Fru Ndi is today a liability to the SDF struggle to emancipate Cameroonians from CPDM dictatorship and misrule!
John Fru Ndi is incapable of organizing fair polls where he is also candidate at the same elections. Of late Fru Ndi has grown too close to Biya /CPDM in actions and otherwise! Cameroonians would not accept this any longer! The built up to the October SDF elections convention have been unacceptably pro Fru Ndi .
The Nyamusa campaign stands  for a two states equal status  federal Cameroon – bilingual, bicultural, bijural as opposed to the dubious Fru Ndi four states federal Cameroon. I pledge to offer to Cameroon three parliaments - an “Anglophone” state parliament, a “Francophone” state parliament and a Federal parliament. Here no law becomes federal law without being voted by majority of each state parliament. Appointed Governors, DOs, SDOs, Government delegates will be history. In the Nyamusa Cameroon project, the Francophone will still obtain the lions share by dint of their population but Anglophones will be empowered by the principle of equity. Hence census figures for the country’s population will be of great importance and will never ever be tampered with in other to build a progressing no complaining and intact Country!   No to Anglophone marginalization; No to Francophone marginalization. The right to self determination is inalienable! Cameroon under President Felix Teche Nyamusa will see the best of unanimous good governance – separation of powers. We will pay reparations to all intentionally marginalize from independence till date ….. With these and more democratic yearnings from Cameroonians, we can not accept dictatorship right from our own house. The SDF investiture, Cameroonians are resolved to throw away violently manipulations and half measures. The Nyamusa campaign will take up the last resort resolve right from SDF house ; Investiture, please act now and fast!
 May God guide SDF, Cameroon!

23 killed in Pakistan Floods

Heavy rainfall swamps Karachi, Pakistan. Photo By Shahzaib Akber/EPA

Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Heavy rains in Karachi, Pakistan, flooded the streets, leading to the death of at least 23 people.
The Gujjar Nullah storm drain overflowed Thursday after the Lyari river reached its tipping point, sending water onto roads near the city's major hospitals. North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Orangi, Malir, Drigh Road, NIPA, Northern Bypass and Gujjar Nala have all been submerged.
Most of those killed in the flooding were electrocuted. Seven of them were children.
Dr. Aijaz Khokhar, a police surgeon at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, told Pakistan Today, "The number of deaths might be higher."
With rainfall reaching up to 5.11 inches on Thursday and even more rain expected Friday, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi directed 15 Pakistan Army and Pakistan Rangers Sindh teams, a C-130 aircraft and two helicopters to help clear the roads and deal with emergency situations.
Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar visited the flooded sites to assess the damage.
"The municipal leadership is busy doing its job and we will not go back home until the situation is normalized," Akhtar said.

Kenyan Court Overturns Presidential Election Result, Orders New Vote Within 60 Days

Kenya's Supreme Court has nullified the results of the country's August presidential election, and called for a new vote within 60 days. To say Kenyan court is now dishing out democratic lessons to other African countries is no more a comparison of dwarfs as to which one is taller than the other.
The court took many aback when it ruled in support of the petition of presidential challenger Raila Odinga and his Nasa Party.
Odinga argued that electronic votes were hacked and manipulated to favor incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta, who won the election with 54 percent of the vote. The court blamed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission for the irregularities.
Odinga rejected the results of the Aug. 8 election before a winner was announced, saying the IEBC imposed "computer-generated leaders" on the country.
Odinga, speaking after the ruling, called it "a very historic day for the people of Kenya and by extension the people of Africa.
"For the first time in the history of African democratization, a ruling has been made by a court nullifying irregular election of a president. This is a precedent-setting ruling," he said.
In court, Odinga's lawyers said the irregularities affected five million votes.
The two judges voting in opposition to the decision said the elections were free, fair, credible and watched by international observers. One, Justice Njoki Ndung'u, said that every election faces challenges and any seen in Kenya's presidential election were not deliberate or conducted in bad faith.
The decision was met with joy in the streets of the capital, Nairobi, where armed police barricaded streets leading to the Supreme Court on Friday.
Kenya has seen widespread unrest since the election, and human rights groups said at least 24 people had died at the hands of police since the vote, ITV News reported.

American President Donald Trump will pledge one million dollars of his own money to relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said on Thursday.
“I am happy to tell you that he (Trump) would like to join in the efforts that a lot of the people that we have seen across this country do.
“He is pledging one million dollars of personal money to the fund,” Sanders told reporters at a White House briefing.
More than 4,500 people and 113 pets stranded by Hurricane Harvey have been rescued by the U.S. special flood response teams this week, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) said.
The Coast Guard said in a statement issued on Thursday that it had deployed assets and resources from across the country to create a sustainable response force.

“On Wednesday alone, Punt Teams took more than 940 people in the Houston, Texas area to safety,’’ it said.
SERVPRO a cleanup and restoration works franchiser in based in the U.S. and Canada had mobilised some 9,000 personnel from across the U.S. to respond to the aftermath of the tropical cyclone Harvey.

Ethiopian Airline Bids to Take Over Troubled Arik Air

Africa’s leading airline, Ethiopian Airlines has submitted a formal offer to take charge of troubled carrier Arik Air, which accounts for more than half of Nigerian air passenger traffic, the CNN has reported.
“We have outlined our terms and conditions to the Nigerian government and we are waiting to see if they agree,” Esayas WoldeMariam, Ethiopian’s managing director of international services, told CNN.
“We are capable and desirous of handling the airline.”
WoldeMariam did not specify details of the offer, but added that he expects to face competition for Arik from international airlines.
There are no indications yet that foreign airlines have submitted bids to take over the airline which is now under the management of AMCON following the debt of over N400billion, owed local and foreign creditors.
Arik’s Managing Director Captain Roy Ilegbodu reported in August that the company had stabilised under AMCON’s leadership, with services running smoothly and salaries paid. It now carries an average of 4,000 passengers daily. It has the largest fleet of 14 aircraft, although according to Ilegbodu 10 of them are operational at any time.
The Arik boss also disclosed a forensic audit of the airliner carried out by the KPMG.
“They have come up with a draft report and within the next few weeks, the final report will be out and will be available to the public.”
Arik Air suitor, Ethiopian Airlines is Africa’s fastest-growing and most profitable carrier.
The airline reported a 10 percent increase in revenue to $2.4 billion for 2015/16, with a 70 percent rise in profits, and passenger numbers climbed 18 percent to 7.6 million.
Ethiopian is pursuing ambitious development at home, with the $345 million expansion of Addis Ababa’s Bole International Airport, and abroad, having acquired a 49 percent stake in Malawian Airlines and 40 percent of ASKY Airlines in Togo.
