Statistics show that there has been a mark improvement in the GCE General and a drop in the GCE Technical. Also, there has been an improvement in the Ordinary levels with a 62.17%  passed in the general education up from 33.93% last year. 11 schools have scored 100% at the ordinary levels with seven candidates having 33 points.  In the Advanced levels, 25 schools have registered a 100% passed with 66.5% up from 60% with 27 candidates having five A grades. Rumours as to whether Amadou Vamoulke, the former General Manager of the state media house-Cameroon Radio Television, CRTV has joined Mendo Ze at the Yaounde Kondengui Prison abound high. Allegedly, Amadou Vamoulke has been napped and transferred to Kondengui where he is just less than 45 minutes old in detention.   He was arrested some few minutes ago by a special security force (GSO) from his residence and whisked off to Kondengui Amadou Vamoulke before being sacked has been a constant visitor at the Special Criminal Tribunal where he is being quizzed on the management of funds allocated to that media outfit. Boko Haram fighters stunned Nigerian troops by ambushing a United Nations team on a humanitarian mission in the war-torn, Borno State. One of the victims Boko Haram operatives have obstructed some UN officials who visited the north-east to share relief materials to the despondent people who have been displaced from their homes with no decent means of livelihood. The 2016 General Baccalaureate results have been released and success rate stands at 52.72% against 57.14% for the year 2015. These figures indicate a real decline of success. According to the classification of regions, four regions recorded a higher percentage than the national pass rate. The South West region ranks first with a success rate of 60% followed by the Littoral region which remains in second place with a success rate of 58.09% followed in turn by the Central region in third place with a success rate of 57.41% . The North West Region on the contrary dropped to the fourth position with a percentage of 52.86% meanwhile the Far North is last position with 40%. Issa Tchiroma Bakary: Gov't Vuvuzela Cameroon’s Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary has declared that Former Minister of State, Minister of Territorial Administration Marafa Hamidou Yaya is not a political prisoner. Minister Tchiroma made that statement on Friday, 16th July 2016 in Press briefing with local and International media. During the briefing Tchiroma debunked the report recently published by the UN working group on arbitrary detention. The report had indicated that Marafa was a political prisoner and called for his immediate release from detention.
