Ahead of November 7, Presidential Elections: George Weah Visits TB Joshua

Africa's football legend and presidential candidate in Liberia, Senator George Weah, was in attendance at the Synagogue Church Of All Nations during the Sunday Service to seek God's face concerning his nation.

Leading presidential candidate in Liberia and football legend George Weah attended a service of The Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), led by Pastor T.B. Joshua on Sunday.
During his sermon, Joshua warmly welcomed Weah and spoke directly to him.
“My brother is here today because he loves his country and wants God’s choice for his country,” Joshua stated.
“He is not here to impose himself. What does God say about his country, Liberia? What is God’s opinion? That is why he is here.”
The cleric reiterated that he was not favoring any particular side of the political spectrum but his own role was to pray for “the will of God” to be done in the nation of Liberia.
“We are not herbalists or witch-doctors; we are people of God. God’s choice is our choice. We cannot pray against God’s will.
“Without God’s corresponding power, we cannot pray to Him. For every step we take – every movement and action – intimation comes first.
“There must be suggestion from the Spirit to move before we move. If truly I am a man of God, I must hear from God – move or don’t move.”
Joshua disclosed that Liberia’s incumbent Vice President and Weah’s contender in the upcoming presidential run-off, Joseph Boakai had also contacted him to request a meeting.
“God’s opinion is what we should seek in our country – simple! God is the Answer, the Final,” the cleric added. In attendance were Senator Yormie Johnson, a former Liberian warlord.
The presidential run-off election between Weah and Boakai is scheduled to hold on November 7, 2017.
Other prominent visitors to The SCOAN in the past include Tanzania’s President, John Magufuli, the late President of Ghana, John Atta Mills, Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangarai and Julius Malema, South Africa’s fiery opposition leader.

10 Compliments Your Spouse Needs to Hear Often

Yes, relationships and marriages can be very complicated, but you wouldn't believe the simplest of words that could just spice up things.

Men and women in marriages should know the importance of words in their daily interactions. The things couples say to one another have a big impact on their marriages. Men sometimes get the reputation for being the less communicative sex, but that doesn’t mean they don’t thrive on affirming words from their wives.

Wives also need to hear compliments daily from their husbands. It goes a long way in promoting peaceful relations between them. A husband who keeps putting down his wife with his words shouldn’t be surprised when she becomes emotionally distant and resentful towards him.

If you don’t appreciate your spouse, who will? If you don’t treat your spouse with love, respect and positive words, no one will do it for you. Married couples should stop taking each other for granted no matter how long they have been married. Kind words melts hearts and it will go a long way in improving your marital relationship.

Whether your husband or wife is begging for verbal affection or not, take a little time today to be grateful for that man or woman in your life for all they do to make your relationship better. It doesn’t take much to make your spouse’s day, boost their confidence and make them want to lift you up in return.

Here are compliments that your spouse needs to hear that will improve your relationship.

I’m glad I married you

Your spouse needs to feel secure in your marriage, and the fastest way to let them know they are still the one is to tell them outright. This is a great compliment because it can come completely out of the blues, without him or her having to do anything to earn it. Spontaneous compliments are genuine and sincere.

I’m proud of you

When your spouse hears you tell them how proud you are of them, they are energized to achieve more. You will get far in marriage being your spouse’s greatest cheerleader. You don’t have to wait for them to do something grand to let them know how proud you are of their efforts. In a world that continuously knocks your spouse down, be the one to always lift him or her up.

I love you

You can never say this enough. Say these three words as often as possible no matter how long you have been with your partner. “I love you” will never lose its meaning. Don’t think that just because your spouse knows you love them that they get tired of hearing it. This is the easiest and most important thing you can tell your spouse.

I believe in you

This is an instant confidence booster and can turn any seeming defeat into a delayed victory. When your spouse is facing one of life’s many setbacks, this is a secret weapon to help them feel empowered to stay on course.

Thank you for taking care of the house

Men need to say this often to their wives. Don’t take their efforts in keeping the house clean for granted. Assist your wife when she’s overwhelmed by house chores. Don’t say it’s for women alone.

You are such a great parent

If you have kids, praise your spouse for their involvement with the family. Let your spouse know that they remain a valuable asset to your family. Compliment your spouse’s parenting skills.

I love how you provide for our family

Don’t take your spouse for granted for the financial needs they meet in your family. These days that husbands and wives pull resources together to keep the home running, the best thing you can do to encourage each other is to appreciate your individual efforts.

You look good

If you don’t compliment your spouse, how can you expect them to feel appreciated or wanted? Your spouse needs to know you love the way they look, even after a few years and a few extra pounds. It’s very important to let your spouse know that you are just as attracted to them today as you were in the beginning. This will make them feel confident and amazing as they go about their day.

You always make me laugh

Let your spouse know that they lighten up your day and bring positive energy into your household. Even if your spouse isn’t the very funny type, you can still compliment their smiles and hearty laughter.

I love spending time with you

We all get caught up in the business of everyday life, so let your spouse know that you still love to simply hangout with him or her. After all, you are your partner’s best friend and constant companion. Let them know how much the time they spend with you mean to you.

US Travel Ban List: Chad Pleads on Trump Administration to Reverse Decision

Chad has called on the US government to reverse its decision to include the country on its travel ban list.
Foreign Minister Madeleine Alingué said in a statement that the decision undermined the image of Chad and good relations between the two countries.
She added that Chad was a partner in the fight against terrorism and that the ban would ruin its bilateral relationship with the US.
Citizens of Chad are now banned from gaining business and tourist visas for the US.
Seven other countries are also affected by the ban - Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, North Korea and Venezuela - while Sudan was removed from the list.
US President Donald Trump's original ban in March was highly controversial, as it affected six majority-Muslim countries, and was widely labelled a "Muslim ban". It has been challenged in court.

What does the travel ban mean for Chad?

President Trump's proclamation will come as a surprise to many Lake Chad Basin watchers, but US intelligence suggests that Chadian authorities have not been sharing information relating to public safety and terrorism with their US counterparts.
The US also said that Chad, a mainly Muslim country, was a haven for jihadist groups but among the Lake Chad Basin nations (Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria) , it has suffered the fewest attacks from Boko Haram militants.
There is little to indicate that the activity of these groups in Chad is anywhere as significant as in, for example, Nigeria, which recently received US support in an arms and aircraft deal.
Chad has been, in Washington's words, "an important and valuable" partner in the fight against Islamist militancy and its capital Ndjamena is home to the headquarters of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) formed to tackle Boko Haram.

Lack of international support

Chad has also hosted the annual US-led Flintlock military exercise in West Africa three times.
France is another Western power that has seen value in keeping Chad close, basing its regional counter-terrorism force Operation Barkhane in Ndjamena.
It has not expressed any concerns - at least, not publicly - about its African partner not sharing intelligence.
President Idris Deby has long complained about the lack of international support in funding the fight against Boko Haram, even threatening to withdraw his troops from the MNJTF.
His forces have struggled to sufficiently police its vast northern regions and this could be part of what the US is concerned about.
However, over the years, Chadian troops have proven their effectiveness in battle during military interventions in the Central African Republic and Mali.
More recently, they made a significant contribution in suppressing Boko Haram fighters between 2014 and 2015 when the group controlled huge swathes of territory in neighbouring Nigeria.
Losing Chad's cooperation would be major blow to counter-terrorism efforts in the region.
This curious attempt to arm-twist the central African nation could be counter-productive.

Exxon Mobile factor?

Observers wonder whether Chad's troubles started when it attempted to slap a record $74bn fine on US oil giant Exxon Mobil.
At the time, the current US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson headed the company.
Exxon Mobil was accused of not making royalty payments but eventually avoided the fine, more than seven times Chad's gross domestic product, as both parties reached a settlement.
There is however little to suggest it was the cause of this ban.
Chad might feel hard done-by to suffer this punishment despite its counter-terrorism track record, while its eastern neighbour Sudan - labelled as a state sponsor of terrorism - is being removed from the US' bad books.
President Deby would not want to see his country experience similar diplomatic and economic isolation (from the West, at least).

Sudan out, Chad in

Sudan will see its omission from the travel ban list as a sign that the Trump administration will also remove wider economic sanctions on the country on 12 October.
The sanctions were first put in place in 1997 when Sudan was named a state sponsor of terrorism, while further penalties were imposed for alleged abuses carried out in the troubled Darfur region.

The State Department concluded that Sudan was cooperating better on counter-terrorism, and in improving humanitarian access to conflict areas, like Darfur.
In August, the Deputy Commander of the US Africa Command, General Alexander Laskaris, visited the capital Khartoum as both countries worked on resuming military cooperation.
Sudan will see the thawing of relations with the US and the outside world as a boost as it seeks to revive its bruised economy, one of the largest in the region.
It will welcome the renewed ability to trade freely with international partners and see this as a path to attracting investment in its agriculture, mining and petroleum sectors.

Lawmakers seek to oust Iraqi president over Kurdish independence vote

Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Some Iraqi legislators are attempting to oust Iraqi President Fuad Masum over the controversial Kurdish independence referendum.
Masum is being accused by opposing lawmakers of not upholding his oath of office to keep Iraq united.
"Masum was sworn in to maintain the unity of Iraq and his non-compliance with that means he failed to abide by his oath," one lawmaker told the Anadolu Agency on Tuesday, while collecting signatures to remove the Kurdish president from power.
Other leaders suggested that Kurdish legislators might also have to leave parliament.
"There is no need for the presence of Kurdish MPs in parliament since they supported the [independence] referendum," another lawmaker said.
In response to the referendum, held Monday, Iraqi officials deployed troops to several disputed areas under the control of the Kurdish Regional Government, as well as other land being fought over between Baghdad and Erbil.

Music Industry Reveals Highest Paid Music Artiste in Nigeria

It will stun Nigerian music enthusiasts that David 'Davido' Adeleke despite the regular showcase of his opulent lifestyle, isn't the highest paid artiste in Nigeria.

Olamide

Seasoned artiste manager, Alex Ozone has revealed the highest paid artiste in Nigeria.

Ozone said that YBNL boss, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide or Badoo is currently the highest paid in terms of international shows.

Ozone said this in a chat with Showtime while commenting on fees Nigerian artistes charge for shows in the United Kingdom and United States.

The manager, who has over 17-years experience in artiste management, revealed that though Davido, Wizkid, Tekno, Kiss Daniel and others are worth a fortune, Olamide is the most expensive.

According to him, “The business doesn’t have a fixed price, it depends on the artiste; I cannot tell you how much each of them is worth.

“But like I told you, I have worked with Wizkid, Tekno, Oritsefemi, Patoranking, Davido, Terry G, Kiss Daniel, YQ, Skales, Olamide, and Timaya.

Health: Here are the 8 Natural Ways to Improve Blood Circulation

The blood in the human body should be given adequate attention as it goes a long way in determining the well-being of an individual.

File Photo

Most people don’t give blood circulation much thought. Even when they have common symptoms of poor blood circulation like numbness in the legs and hands, cold hands and feet, fatigue and swollen feet or fingers.

Ignoring these symptoms can lead to more serious problems like cardiovascular disease and stroke. Luckily, there are things you can start doing today to improve circulation. But making these changes may not help much if you don’t avoid habits that cause poor blood circulation. These habits include: Heavy alcohol drinking, tobacco smoking, poor diet, inactivity, high caffeine intake.

Get a good massage

Massage creates pressure which forces blood in congested areas to flow. This pressure also allows easy flow of new blood to different body parts. Get a good massage several times a week if you experience the symptoms of poor blood circulation I mentioned above.

Add herbs into your diet

Some herbs are good for blood circulation. They strengthen the blood vessels and help unclog the arteries.

Research shows that gingko biloba and cayenne pepper improve circulation. Cayenne pepper strengthens the blood vessels and stimulates the heart while gingko biloba improves blood flow which consequently improves memory.

Other helpful herbs include garlic, ginger, bilberry and parsley.

Keep your legs elevated

It’s hard for blood to flow from the feet to the heart since it has to flow uphill. In fact, this is the main reason poor blood circulation largely affects the legs. Elevating your legs will make it easier for blood to flow. Lift the legs above heart level and keep them elevated for 20 minutes.

Exercise every day

There’s a lot of research showing that exercise improves blood circulation. Even simple exercises like walking, climbing stairs can help. You may want to start with low intensity exercises if you’re out of shape and then increase intensity as you get fitter.

Reduce salt intake

Research shows that high salt intake can cause poor blood circulation. This is alarming because most people consume an average of 3.4 grammes of salt a day. That’s higher than the recommended 2.3 grammes per day.

Avoiding canned food and reading food labels can help reduce sodium in your diet.

Don’t wear tight clothes for long

Those skinny jeans can cut off blood circulation to the legs, research shows. In fact, one woman had to be hospitalised for four days because of squatting while wearing skinny jeans. On the other hand, clothes like the compression socks are said to improve blood circulation in the legs.

Drink more water

I don’t think you need any convincing that water is good for your health. Aim for two litres of water a day.

Here are tips that can help you drink more water.

Add nuts into your diet

Nuts contain vitamins and minerals that can improve blood circulation. According to this study, raw almonds and walnuts boost blood circulation. Nuts are also a great source of healthy fats. But eat them in moderation if you want to lose weight.

US Adds Three New Countries to Its Controversial Travel Ban (See List)

The United States of America has added three new countries to its controversial travel ban.

President Donald Trump

The United States has expanded its controversial travel ban to include people from North Korea, Venezuela and Chad. The White House said the restrictions follow a review of information sharing by foreign governments.

Donald Trump issued a presidential proclamation late on Sunday.

"Making America safe is my number one priority. We will not admit those into our country we cannot safely vet," Mr Trump said.

The restrictions on Venezuelans apply only to government officials and their family members. The three new countries join five others from Mr Trump's original travel ban: Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, and Somalia. But the new proclamation removed restrictions that were placed on Sudan.

Mr Trump's original ban was highly controversial, as it affected six majority-Muslim countries, and was widely labelled a "Muslim ban". It was subject to a range of legal challenges and several large-scale protests, and is due to be considered by the US Supreme Court in October, having been partly reinstated in July.

The American Civil Liberties Union rights group said the addition of the new countries "doesn't obfuscate the real fact that the administration's order is still a Muslim ban". It is not yet clear how the president's new proclamation, which changes several key elements, will affect that legal challenge.

The addition of North Korea and Venezuela now means not all nations on the list are majority-Muslim. The criteria for the new ban list is now based on vetting procedures and co-operation, and the restrictions have now been "tailored" on a country-by-country basis:

*The White House said North Korea did not co-operate with the US government "in any respect" and failed all requirements - and so all travel to the US by its citizens has been banned.

*Chad, while an important counter-terrorism partner, did not share terrorism-related and other public information the US required - business and tourist visas for its nationals are suspended.

*Only "certain Venezuelan government officials and their immediate family members" have been banned - its government has recently been hit with economic sanctions by the US, who now say it does not co-operate "in verifying whether its citizens pose national security or public-safety threats" and does not receive deported nationals willingly.

Most of the restrictions come in the form of suspension of B-1 and B-2 business and tourist visas, and they do not appear to be time-limited in the way that Mr Trump's former executive order was.

In a fact sheet accompanying Mr Trump's proclamation, the White House said that while Iraq also falls short of the required criteria, the country was not included in the new restrictions "because of the close co-operative relationship between the United States" and their part in fighting so-called Islamic State.

The restrictions come into effect on 18 October, but will not apply to those already in possession of a valid visa, the White House said.

P-Square Music Group Finally Split

Amidst the rumours making the rounds that the P-Square brothers are having issues, Peter Okoye has now revealed to his fans that he is on his own after issuing a letter to their lawyer, demanding a split from the group.

Peter & Paul Okoye

Years of dominating the Nigerian music industry, the multi-award winning pop duo, Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye of P-Square music group, have finally split and gone onto their separate ways.

Here is how LIB exclusivley reported the story in full;

***************************
"Famous Nigerian music duo, PSqaure have split up years after news of their first explosive fight hit the internet and this is sadly 100% true!

Here's what happened! Peter sparked speculation recently that all was not well with him and his twin brother/business partner - Paul after he referred to himself as Mr. P (his personal brand name). He also dropped cryptic messages on Instagram, one of it addressing how no one's opinion should matter about something that makes you happy.

Though no names were mentioned, Paul Okoye replied in a post via his own Instagram page, talking about how the birth of his twins was making someone jealous and restless.

He accused the person of having sleepless nights, and also indirectly called out Peter's wife Lola - saying; "Only a woman can come where there's peace and destroy it. Try me this time, I swear Nyash go open. You will know that blood is thicker and stronger than juju."

LIB can now exclusively confirm that Peter has sent a termination letter to their lawyer Festus Keyamo (SAN), demanding for a termination of the agreement between Psquare.

In the letter (which LIB has obtained), he defends his decision by making some serious allegations against his twin Paul and older brother/group manager Jude.

According to Peter, Paul is no longer willing to co-operate with him, even going as far as cancelling their planned US tour this year without informing him, and he (Peter) has exhausted all options to make it work.

He also accused Paul of slandering his wife and children with lies on social media, and alleged that they've now been receiving threatening messages.

Peter further accused his older brother Jude of once threatening to kill him and shoot his wife Lola. This allegedly happened in the presence of Paul and former first lady of Cross River state Mrs Imoke. Jude allegedly also threatened to bring a coffin for him (Peter) if he ever comes near his house.

Peter insists that he has had enough of the drama and wants out of the Psqaure group and contract. The singer who now refers to himself as Mr. P, stated that he loves his brothers and their families, and he wishes them the very best in their careers. However he cannot betray his wife and kids as they are very important to him."

Anglophone Crisis: How People Power Eclipsed Administration, Elected Officials

The massive peaceful protest that took place in several Cameroon English-speaking towns and villages on Friday September 22, 2017 in protest against the continuous detention of some of the inhabitants of the regions was described as the people power by expressionists .
The demonstrations in the North West and South West Regions come at the time when President Paul Biya was addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York.   Despite bans issued by Mezam Division and Bui Division SDOs and another by the Governor of the North-West Region on movement of persons at night the population came out massively to stage a peaceful protest.
The demonstration spread to Buea in the South-West Region where women led the march with hundreds behind them carrying leaves, tree branches and flags of the Cameroon separatist movement.
Reports say about five persons were killed as the defiant protesters were trying to draw the attention of the international community on the Southern Cameroons case. More so, there have been widespread rumours that some five Members of Parliament resigned due to the pressure from the population, yet haven’t submitted official resignation letters to the Speaker of the National Assembly. Political analysts say the move was more political given that they said MPs (four of the SDF party and one from the CPDM are still to submit a written document).

Matters Arising from UNGA: Mugabe Says Trump is Modern Version of Biblical Goliath

Zimbabwe's President, Robert Mugabe doesn't seem to be a fan of US President Donald Trump, that is if his speech at the UN general assembly is anything to go by.

Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe
While speaking at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, the 93-year-old President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, called on US President, Donald Trump to embrace peace and dialogue which are the tenets of the United Nations.
Mugabe said Trump threatened the existence of other nations, adding that the US President is a modern version of the biblical Goliath who now threatens to make other countries go extinct.
Read an excerpt of his speech below:
“We believe a different and better world is possible. The continued denial of the rights to self-determination to the people of Western Sahara and Palestine, who are living under colonial and foreign occupation, is immoral and an urgent issue for those seeking peace in our time.

“My country is an unflinching advocate of the respect of independent and sovereignty rights of each country. We cannot, however, remain silent when those decisions negatively affect our own welfare.

“And on this, may I say some of us were embarrassed, if not frightened, by what appears to be the return of the biblical giant called Goliath. Are we having the return of Goliath to our midst who threatens the extinction of other countries?

“May I say, today, United States President, Mr. Trump, please blow your trumpet in a musical way towards the values of peace, unity, co-operation, togetherness, dialogue which we have always stood for and which we read in our very sacred document —  the charter of the United Nations.

“Upon those values, each nation can build its greatness, including the United States. And it’s the greatness in recognising those values that we will want to be guided by and not by the promise of our damnation.

“Damnation we shall always resist, no matter whence it comes. We have resisted when it was in the form of imperialism, as we fought for our own independence and culture and sovereignty to be masters of our own destiny.

“That is why we call ourselves free today… It is because the monster of imperialism was defeated by us. Bring us another monster by whatever name, he will suffer the same consequences,” Mugabe said.

WWE No Mercy: Roman Reigns Overcomes John Cena, Brock Lesnar Wins

Roman Reigns (L) locks down John Cena during their match Sunday at WWE No Mercy. Photo courtesy of WWE/Twitter

Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Two main events including Roman Reigns taking on John Cena and Brock Lesnar defending his title against Braun Strowman took place Sunday during WWE's Raw-exclusive pay-per-view event, No Mercy.
The first main event featured a battle between two of the WWE's biggest stars, Cena and Reigns as they fought for respect and the right to be the true face of the company.
Despite Reigns starting things off in a dominate fashion, Cena was able to regain his composure and bounce back into the bout that featured the 16-time world champion delivering four Attitude Adjustments to The Big Dog including a one from the top-rope and two AAs delivered in a row.
The onslaught of finishing moves would not keep Reigns down. He wore down Cena after he speared the Total Bellas star through a table and then later in the middle of the ring for a three count after delivering a Superman Punch.
Afterwards, Cena showed respect to Reigns by raising his hand in victory. After Reigns exited, Cena remained in the ring and received a standing ovation from the audience followed by a "Thank you Cena" chant.
The second main event which closed out the night, was a battle of the giants as Lesnar collided with Strowman in an earth-shattering championship match.
Strowman looked impressive in the early going as he dominated Lesnar in a way few other Superstars have. After delivering a Running Powerslam, The Monster Among Men seemed destined to be the one to finally slay The Beast as Lesnar looked stunned by Strowman's power.
Lesnar turned things around after he nearly broke Strowman's arm by applying the Kimura Lock for an extended period of time. Now down to one arm, Lesnar was able to take his opponent to Suplex City and withstand more Running Powerslams that seemed to further injure Strowman's arm.
Lesnar ended the match with F-5 for the three count, continuing his long championship reign.
In the women's division, against all odds Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss retained her title in a Fatal 5-Way Match that featured Sasha Banks, Bayley, Nia Jax and Emma.
The match, which featured Jax delivering an impressive double Samoan Drop to Bliss and Banks, ended after Bliss was able to side-step a charging Jax and deliver a DDT to Bayley for the victory.
Other moments from No Mercy included Elias defeating Apollo Crews; The Miz retaining his Intercontinental Championship against Jason Jordan; Finn Balor defeating Bray Wyatt; Enzo Amore defeating Neville to become the new Cruiserweight Champion and Raw Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins retaining their titles against Cesaro and Sheamus.
