H.E Shey Jones Yembe is a Servant Leader

Published from Blogger Prime Android App
One of America's most influential 18th century writer and social critic, John Gardner wrote that “Leaders have a significant role in creating the state of mind that is the society. According to Gardener, leaders can serve as symbols of the moral unity of the society. They  express the values that hold society together. And most importantly, they conceive and articulate goals that lift people out of their petty preoccupations, carry them to where they build society , and unite them in the pursuit of objectives worthy of their best efforts”. John Gardner might have been writing about his 18th century Europe, but the issues he raised then are as urgent today as they were then. Issues of leadership, moral unity, values and principles, and above all, development are as poignant in today’s society as they were in the 18th century. This category of leaders are known as servant leaders.
Published from Blogger Prime Android App
Book makers say a servant-leader is servant first given that he/she begins with the natural feeling to serve a community or a people. It was  Robert K. Greenleaf who first discussed the philosophy in an essay called “The Servant as Leader,” which was first published in 1970. Greenleaf was of the opinion that servant leaders  provide the type of support that allows other people to learn and grow through inclusive leadership.
One leaders whose conscious choice has  brought the population of Donga Mantung Division to aspire to lead, is H.E Shey Jones Yembe. The truth is that whenever I hear the phrase "servant leadership, the first person that comes to mind is Shey Jones Yembe. He is, to say the least one of the greatest statesmen in the history of Donga Mantung Division, yet, by all accounts, he is a servant leader and a man who embraces simplicity. On March 12, 2023, he made a statement that captured the admiration of everyone. He said the CPDM is Social Gathering in Donga Mantung Division, and that we have gone passed the level of doing politics for politics. "Politics is for development", he reminded everyone.Humility is one of the hallmarks of H.E. Shey Jones Yembe. And some of us have had to get the first impression through a handshake! Servant leaders are described as people who have a sense of stewardship over the people and they are responsible for. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines "stewardship" as, "the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one's care."Servant leaders don't care about the credit. They care about making things better. Renowned leadership researchers Hodgson and White believe that the best form of leadership is one that finds the perfect balance between behaviors, needs, and context. H.E Shey Jones Yembe falls within this category of leaders. " I am going to ask everybody from Donga Mantung that wherever you were before, the CPDM's door is open. There is democracy in the CPDM that will permit everyone to find his/her feet. We not considering the CPDM as a political party, we consider the CPDM as a social gathering of sons and daughter of Donga Mantung Division".  This is exemplary leadership, this statement does not only portrays his leadership qualities but one can be able to evaluate the need to follow his words and call.  In summary, if the contingency theory suggests that great leadership is a combination simplicity, service to others and community, Shey Jones Yembe's position as Permanent Coordinator of the CPDM for Donga Mantung Division is a well-deserved position.

CPDM is Social Gathering in Donga Mantung -H.E Shey Jones Yembe

The Divisional Coordinator of the CPDM for Donga Mantung Division, H.E Shey Jones Yembe has declared that in Donga Mantung, the CPDM is a social gathering of all it's sons and daughters. H.E Shey Jones Yembe made the statement today March 12, 2023 as the CPDM crushed the SDF at the Senatorial poll with a bashing score of 170 votes against zero. The Divisional Coordinator called on all and sundry to join the new leaf for development. "We are not doing politics for politics, we are doing politics for development. And so, we can say we on a good footing. I am going to ask everybody from Donga Mantung that wherever you were before, the CPDM's door is open", he continued. He added that there is democracy in the CPDM that will permit everyone to find his/her feet. "We not considering the CPDM as a political party, we consider the CPDM as a social gathering of sons and daughter of Donga Mantung Division".
Harping on the conduct of the elections, Shey Jones Yembe said the party is very satisfy with the level of participation of the various stakeholders in the process. "You can see that out of 180 voters we expected at the polls, 171 were present". He continued by adding that those who could not participate were either sick or held back for one reason or other.
Statistics show that the total number of registered voters stood at 180 voters, the number of voters who participated in the voting was 171. The CPDM got 170 votes, there was 01 invalid vote. While waiting for the official declaration of the results, CPDM scored 100% as against 0% for the SDF in the vote cast and 95% participatory.
The elections took place in Nkambe in a calm atmosphere. Polling stations open the doors at exactly 8am and by 12noon the 171 voters had finished performing their civil rights. Pending official proclamation by the Constitutional council, vote counts at polling stations have plebicited Ngafeeson Emmanuel Bantar, candidate for the ruling CPDM winner. However, SDF candidate, Bunyui Emmanuel didn't even showed up in Nkambe to campaign for votes. His social media campaign has not yield any dividends

Hon. Kalak is a Good Man

Being good is a concept that deals with the most practical theory. Yet it is the theory of relativity. Some people like to say that what could be good for them need not be good for everybody and vice-versa. However, one man, one name stands to defeat this notion that there is no ideal definition of a truly good person. Hon. Kalak Flavius Boteh, Divisional Coordinator of Peace and Development Initiative for Donga Mantung (PDI) of the North West Regional Assembly. ThisRegional Councilor who hails from Nwa is good-at-all-times. Even though a politician, he is honest, truthful and accessible. He is a teacher of profession. Yet his character traits are different from other teachers given that he is a cheerful giver. If you have never had the opportunity to meet a good man, come closer to Hon. Kalak to discover his character traits of a good man.
Essentially, according to the Great Man Theory, people in elected positions like Hon. Kalak deserve to lead because of characteristics granted to them at birth, which ultimately help them to become serving leaders for their communities. Naturally servant leaders have a set of personal qualities that made them effective leaders. Even today, the belief that truly great leaders are born is common. Plato one of the greatest philosophers believed that a man could only become good by knowing the truth, and he could not know the truth without being good.  On the other hand, Aristotle had a different theory regarding the goodness of man. According to Aristotle, a good man is the norm and the measure of ethical truth.  Pertaining to Aristotle's definitions, I will therefore contextualize by adding that one doesnt need to meet someone severally to understand he/she is a good man. So! Is Hon, Kalak Flavius Boteh.
Peace and development have often been described as continuing where God stopped at creation. This means that the developer is an envoy of the Almighty Himself because he (the developer) manifests Gods image which he is, through service to his community and mankind as a whole. To be a developer, the first quality is to be good natured and selfless. The celebrated English writer, Henry Fielding, observes that good people sacrifice for others not because it is their duty but because it is their nature to do that. What Fielding simply means is that truly good people do what they do because they have the goodwill and not out of compulsion. Hon. Kalak Flavius is an incomparable agent of peace and development.
Developer Recognized by His People
It was the Saviour Jesus Christ who said a prophet is not recognized in his home town. Christ made this remark after people in his native Nazareth failed to appreciate the miracles he performed healing them. Christ spoke in a particular context. However, like most universally accepted principles, there are usually exceptions. Hon. Kalak is one of such few exceptions. The people of Donga Mantung were quick to realize his development potentials when he was appointed Divisional Coordinator of PDI, CDI and HILA. This they did despite the fact that there were far older people. To say that he didnt disappoint them or that he did well is to understate the fact: he is excelling.
Humility they say is the greatest attribute of a great man, according to Thomas a Kempis, author of the much approved book, Imitations of Christ. The author, drawing inspiration from the humility of Christ (washing the feet of his apostles) Christ was in effect teaching us that leadership is service. In fact, to minister means to serve. Unfortunately, in our Cameroonian and even African context it is the reverse. Hon. Kalak is very far from being a haughty office holder. He is humble, accessibly, always wears a smile and kind. He thus abides by the advice Be kind to those you meet on your way up because you will meet them again on your way down. Kindness does not however denote philanthropy or giving lavishly. It simply means having a spirit of sharing, a spirit of goodwill. Not only shall no one is left behind, its time for Donga Mantung to move together with the proverbial slogan: U na Mi, Mi Na U, Wi be Wi

Donga Mantung people have expressed gratitude and thanks to President Paul Biya for upgrading the Nkambe District hospital to Regional Hospital Annex. The event took place at the Nkambe grandstand with over 20.000 people in attendance on March 10, 2022. The thank you event was organized by Hon. Gerard Ngala, an illustrious son who doubles as Member of Parliament for Nkambe. He was flanked by Hon. Naomi Ngando, MP for Ndu, Hon. Abe Michael, MP for Ako/Misaje and Hon. Adamu, MP for Nwa. Also present were the five mayors of Donga Mantung Division and municipal/ regional councilors.
Those who didn't have the opportunity to express themselves in speeches, demonstrated their appreciation by singing and dancing. In expressing gratitude to President Paul Biya, the Member of Parliament for Nkambe said Donga Mantung's preparedness to take measures to safeguard and plan ways to ensure the perfect functioning of the hospital is marked by its ability to brace peace. It was against this backdrop that Hon. Gerard Ngala pleaded for the creation of the Far North West region/ Savannah region with headquarters in Nkambe. To Hon. Gerard Ngala, health is Wealth, and bringing health facilities closer to the population is giving them wealth. He recalled the stress people used to go through to get to the regional hospital in Bamenda or mission hospitals in Kumbo. He added that "Donga Mantung is an island of peace and when you make your choice, you assume the prices that come with it. Donga Mantung has chosen the path of Dialogue, Peace, respect of state institutions and we expect that in return the state could do more to us. That is why while thanking the head of state for the regional hospital, we are equally appealing for the creation of Far North West Savannah Region".
Prominent at the Nkambe Grandstand to witness the official handing over of medical equipment to the Nkambe regional hospital annex was the Senior Divisional Officer for Donga Mantung, Dr. Simon Nkwenti Doh. Talking to journalists after the grandiose event, the SDO expressed his joy to the population who spontaneously came out to manifest their happiness to the seasonal gift from President Paul Biya. " The population have come from all the subdivisions, Ako, Misaje, Ndu, Nwa and Nkambe and even from the neighboring divisions because of the services the Regional Hospital will render to the population. We are here to celebrate". The SDO continued by adding that the population of Donga Mantung Division also turned massively to parcel to the Head of State, their old request for the creation of new administrative units. "When you see old mothers, fathers, women and youths who have travelled from far and near to come and express this wish, it is because it is a capital wish. They want this new unit created inorder to speed development".
Earlier, while welcoming the population of Donga Mantung to the thank you event, Musa Shey Nfor, mayor of Nkambe said he was overwhelmed by the gift from government. He applauded government for the timely support that will go a long way to impact lives in the Division and beyond

Pan African Organization Empowers North West Councils on Fundraising

The workshop on fundraising for local initiatives for mayors was organized by the Union of Cities and Councils-UCCC North West in partnership with Pan African Organization for Research and Protection of Vioence on Women and Children. Speaking during the training workshop, the Coordinator of Pan African Organization for Research and Protection of Violence on Women and Children, Dr. Ndonwie Peter who facilitated the training in Fundraising and project proposal writing said the course aimed at enabling mayors and councils development officers to determine and prioritize projects and plans needed by the Municipality. He said with decentralization in the offing, there is the need for municipal councils in the North West region to have sufficient skills in project planning as well as the competence to be able to build relations with the donor community.
The two days free training included among others, the preparation and development of action plans for the project execution and the follow up of a set of necessary procedures which will help in attracting the donor community. In developing the said tools for training Dr. Nfonwie Peter recounted that the need for such a training emanated from a social media comment from one of the mayors, who made a pertinent comment to the fact that he submitted  project of 10 billion to FEICOM but was granted 100 million francs. Dr. Ndonwie Peter saw in the social media post the need to empower councils. At the end of the two days training, participants were able to develop  project plans and proposal according to the donor's needs and requirements. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Ndonwie Peter, took care of his flight from Ghana to Cameroon in order to  provide North West Councils with skills that will guarantee a better performance for councils at local levels.

Meet Senator Regina Mundi, The Career Politician

Regina Mundi
Regina Mundi is the lone female Member of the Politbureau of the ruling CPDM from the North West Region of Cameroon and Member of the Senate. The fact that she is a Member of the Upper House and Polibureau member of the CPDM is a clear testimony that determination and devotion are the corner stone to success. As a matter of truth, she is a stanch militant whose continues preaching about the goodies of the CPDM and its chairman Paul Biya has changed the political landscape in the North West Region. While there are CPDM militants who are oppositions at night and CPDM during the day, Ma Mundi as she is commonly known is CPDM for 24 hours on 24, 7 days of the week and 12 months in the year. Her commitment to President Biya’s political ideologies and the CPDM is not sheer fanaticism. It is for this reason that during the 50th anniversary of the Armed Forces in Bamenda, Regina Mundi was catapulted and recognized. She was decorated by the Head of State President Paul Biya. This graduate of Trinity College-USA has entered history books in varied names, such as the first female to be appointed cultural and social affairs adviser to the then Governor of the North West Province. She was the first woman to occupy the position of secretary in the then CNU party and it was through her efforts that she created the first women group in Mezam. Politically, she has risen from a central committee member to polibureau member.
While many CPDM militants only pay lip service to the ruling party and its national chairman, Ma Mundi has remained CPDM from the day of its insertion to date. In the early 90s when Bamenda was likened to Bagdad, Ma Mundi was the only female politician who could publicly identify herself as a militant of the CPDM. Even when her house was destroyed against the backdrop of post-electoral violence, she was still committed to the ideals of the CPDM. What is interesting about politics in the North West Region of Cameroon is the fact that there are many people with different political views; yet, Regina Mundi has stood the taste of time as the most convincing female politician. Ever since she entered into active politics, she had never told a lie. In fact she is widely appreciated as a rare specie of politician that is very hard to come-by nowadays. She has always told the population whenever she has the opportunity to make a statement that even though some people may sympathize with the opposition; they know that the opposition has nothing to offer. Being a female politician in the fief of the leading opposition in Cameroon was an uphill task that she gradually transformed into assets. If you have never met a convincing politician, meet her in the field and you will agree with me that she has the God given charm that attracts people
Like someone once said, a single vote for the CPDM in the Northwest Region is worth a thousand votes down the center region, that is why she never gave up until the CPDM was able to win  councils and Parliamentary seats. She once told this reporter that real change is coming and the moment has come for her to celebrate that transformation. And here she is senator. Politics is a game of interest, “you scratch my back, I scratch your back, because politics na njangi” says Rt. Hon. Senator Achidi Achu former Prime Minister. This statement of late Rt. Hon. Senator Achidi Achu is so realistic that nobody in his/her right senses can discard it. When the SDF was launched in 1990 nobody saw this definition and its relevance. Today, the scales have fallen off the eyes of many Northwesteners. Ma Mundi is one of those realistic individuals and a permanent pillar on which President Paul Biya and the CPDM party has continuously leaned on in the North West Region. Ma Mundi is therefore a career politician

Prof. Uphie Melo: Epitome of Hardwork

She is the Vice Chancellor of the UNIVERSITY of Ngoundere since June 2017. She is member of the academic of science and PhD holder in Metallurgical Engineering.
Prof. Uphie Melo Chinje is a frontline researcher, like other result oriented researchers, she is heading a university where she is transforming theory into practice. She was appointed to that position by President Paul Biya for her hard work, education background and qualifications and not by a financial controller.
When she was at MIPROMALO, moving research results from the laboratory into the field of production was one of her major achievements. In the past, accusations have been more compounded by the fact that research results never go beyond the laboratory. Reasons being that majority of the research results never tie with local realities because most of the researchers prefer to think globally and act globally. Welcome Prof. Uphie Melo Chinje who is a mark departure from the madding crowd because she thinks globally and act locally. As a woman she has shown proof of being a systematically thought out of the box. As a researcher and a woman for that matter, she has always been worried why there are practical problems to be solved in society and researchers spend time in abstract things. She is one of those rare researchers who believe in the value of work. Far from being an academic exercise, she is of the school of thought of Beacon who saw research and the acquisition of knowledge as planned work. Knowing that everything in the world is purchased by labour, Prof. Uphie Melo Chinje put herself to education and learning that would make her useful in the field of work. And being a God fearing person, her inspiration has often come from Genesis 1:28 which states that: “replenish and subdue it”.  It is therefore a noble sentiment that she has not only replenished the earth but has been subduing it.
As General Manager of the Local Material Production Authority-MIPROMALO, she has been redefining the use of the earth especially it soil. Through her meritorious research work, she demonstrated that local materials are more resistant and she succeeded in putting local construction materials at the front stage in Cameron. That is how she is transforming President Biya’s greater ambition program.
While others in her position will certainly wear arrogance and snobbishness, she remains down to earth and accommodative. Back in her Constituency, Prof. Uphie Melo initiated and established the Creative Women Center, which is a model in empowering the rural woman. Yet Prof. Melo still goes beyond that to make work the divine with humanity as she believes God makes Himself in all the things. Her successes in politics, development work, research and empowerment has earned her countless awards and merits. She is therefore one of those celebrities that Cameroonians continue to admire during the Month of the woman and look up to as a role model. Meet her in the field discussing politics and you understand she is perfect.

Madame Hajara Danjuma is an educationist and a perfect one.  She is the First Deputy Mayor of the Nkambe Council. Her
being elected as First Deputy Mayor was not an error but by merit. When judged from her trappings during the last mandate, she is already entering into records as a development luminary and career politician. Though purely from Muslim background, she is worth celebrating for braving the odds to stand tall from the madding crowd. She is very soft spoken, down to earth, serviceable  and rich in expedient in politics of the CPDM. Though trained educationist, Hajara Danjuma's success in politics continue to act as a spur to women who intend to take leadership positions through politics.

Meet Yaah Patience Tamfu: The Exemplary Female Politian

She is CPDM Section President in the United States. Her trappings as a career politician speak volumes. In fact, to have risen above the artificial barriers to be elected Section President in Uncle Sam's country is a feat. If there is any area in Cameroon where the Beijing platform can be assessed, it is in her participation in political and economic sphere which was former a no go one for the woman. This woman has shown that women in leadership could mean a lot to Cameroon. Ever since this daughter of the great statesman, late Hon. SN Tamfu became the sparkling flicker, the ever first woman to strengthen the CPDM party in the United State of America. She has become a symbol that women in leadership position could mean a lot to Cameroon. Hitherto considered a no go zone for women, Yaah Patience Tamfu has not only dismantled the male barriers constructed round politics but has more importantly serve as a woman emancipator. Where two or three are gathered to talk development, Patience Tamfu is always present. Women's Day Role Model: Meet Mafor Judith Yah Epse Achidi GM of CAMTEL

Mafor Yaah Judith Sunday ’épouse Achidi is the General Manager of CAMTEL. Before she became CAMTEL boss, Mafor Yaah Judith Sunday epouse Achidi has accumulated over 25 years experience in governance and entrepreneurship development. She is one of the most formidable woman of all the women in leadership position. Her astuteness at the helm of Camtel is very positive as she is set to make Camtel leader of mobile network in Cameroon, with Blue CAMTEL. The Blue Camtel product has already registered hundreds of thousands of new subscribers.
Mafor Yaah Judith it should be noted has served CAMTEL in various capacities ranging from regional director for Littoral, South West, North West and Center regions respectively. Before her  appointment, she was Commercial Director. She holds a degree in business administration and Master Degree in Banking and Finance.
Mafor Yaah Achidi Achu Judith Yaah Sunde as she is commonly called is a woman of additional qualities. This is a woman who unlike others is busy round the clock. As a seasoned administrator, she believes like Immanuel Kant that “the more we are busy, the more we feel we are alive and contributing for the welfare of others”. Her educational background coupled with her devotion to be perfect has made her to transform the principle of education for work into the principle of education through work. Reasons why she puts  she had always put the local communities especially youthsand women ahead in all her actions as she believes that by empowering the rural women and youths she would be an avenue par excellence to change lives through work.
As a Christian, she believes like Martin Luther King that “working is praying”. One prelate once said that every human natured person is made up of the human and the divine and that when the divine overrides, the human one becomes closer to God. Yet, Mafor Achidi Achu Judith goes beyond that by making work the divine with the human as a pairs.
Some years ago she defeated all speculations when she donated a football trophy worth a million FCFA for youths in Donga Mantung Division to celebrate the 50 Anniversary of Cameroon’s independence. The event ended in grand style with over 20.000 man crowds at the finals. Her contribution to the welfare of rural women and youths caught the admiration of Donga Mantung Fons and she was coroneted Senior Ma-Yaah of Donga Mantung division. The second edition of the tournament took place at Ndu last year with over 24 football teams taking part. In a bit to promote the football nursery of Donga Mantung Division, Mafor Yaah Achidi Achu has proven that what a man can do, a woman can do it better. Her largesse to rural women of Nkambe Central has been out numbered ranging from farm inputs to maize seeds and others.
Her devotion for work and down to earth nature ignited fons of the North West who coroneted her with the title of “Mafor”
Accompanying rural women through support has been her line of action in fostering women empowerment. What makes her dissimilar from others is that she does uncommon things in a very common manner.
While working for Camtel, she had proven that she is duty conscious. In the Littoral and South West regions where she served as Regional Director of CAMTEL, she left an indelible mark of greatness that speaks positively and confirms the aptitude of women in leadership positions. In the Southwest Region she succeeded in putting in place the optic fiber. In the North West, she is also noted to have transformed the entire service into a bee hive of activities. Putting CAMTEL to the forefront by putting in place new installations at Jakiri, Wum, Nkambe and Oku as well as the terminal optical fibre at the University of Bamenda before her workaholic nature moved her to the head office in Yaounde where she is Director of Urban Development at CAMTEL. Notwithstanding, Mafor Achidi Achu Judith Yaah Sunde is also a great supporter of the CPDM. In the political arena her presence in Donga Mantung Division is often described as a booster to youths and the woman folk. If you have never met a cheese full of prominence, get closer to Senior Ma Yaah Mafor Achidi Achu Judith to rediscover her role as a woman emancipator. She has been at the forefront of women advocacy for peace in the North West and South West region.  He desire to see peace returning to the North West and South West Regions has ignited hopes.

Meet Hon. Mbongnyor Naomi Ngando the Female MP for Ndu

Hon. Mbongnyor Naomi Ngando  is a female political colossus whose rise to prominence paints the picturesque of how much women in leadership could impact lives in purely male dominated society.
She is the Member of Parliament for Donga Mantung Centre Constituency-Ndu in Donga Mantung Division of the Northwest region. She is on her first mandate. She is one of those exemplary female politicians who have dismantled male barriers to rise. Talk about female politicians who are fighting against the widespread of covid 19, the first name that come to mind is Hon. Naomi. Of late she was in town distributing maize seeds and covid 19 kits to women. She is making a mark in the Donga Mantung political landscape.
Before becoming a career politician, her hard work, determination and involvement in community work and sound education shaped and influenced her life to where she is today.
This good natured, self-motivated and sparkling political icon has had a distinguished career as a teacher before a jump-start in politics where she is going into records in great names. Conscientiously speaking she has been rated as the agrarian political messiah who continues to stimulate the woman that “what a man can do in politics, a woman can do it better”. This is great motivation because she is and continues to make a difference in the lives of the rural woman as she is on her first mandate. Donating fertilizer, farm tools, covid 19 kits and supporting youth activities have been magnitude. She is one of the few women who works hard. Of late she was in Ghana to empower herself.
Besides, she is an educationist. She had served as head teacher in several schools before moving to work in the inspectorate. Happy women's day Honourable

Donga Mantung Takes Lead in PDI-CDA Implimentation

Published from Blogger Prime Android App

The population of Donga Mantung has answered the clarion call to fully participate in championing peace building and development in their respective communities.
This was during the official opening of a two-day Capacity training seminar organized by the North-West Regional Assembly on Peace Development Initiatives (PDI) and Community Decentralized Activities (CDA) in Donga Mantung Division. The seminar that brought together all important stakeholders in the Division, took place on February 24, 2023 at the Nkambe council hall.
Speaking to the over 500 participants that turned out for the seminar from the 5 sub divisions of the Donga Mantung (Ako,  Misaje, Ndu, Nkambe and Nwa Sub Divisions), the Divisional coordinator for PDI, Donga Mantung, Hon. Kalak Flavius Boteh highlighted that,
"Peace and development are crucial prerequisites for the maintenance of human dignity and as stakeholders, we all are called upon to collectively put hands on deck and join the band wagon  of building peace and driving development in our Division, Region and Nation at large".
"It has always been the vision of the President of the North-West Regional Assembly, Prof. Fru Fobuzshi ANGWAFO III to ensure, commitment and continuous interaction and involvement of all stakeholders in peace talks towards the construction of a new North-West Region where everyone counts and is counted. Not only shall no one is left behind; but we must all move ahead together as in our proverbial slogan “U na Mi, Mi na U, Wi bi Wi” He added.
It should be noted that, since the putting in place of Regions, the North-West Regional Assembly has been able to sit and deliberate nine (9) times in plenary sessions arriving at a total of 44 deliberations. The primordial of all the deliberations were those with the vision to build peace in the North-West Region through community driven decentralized activities, a way to rebranding a new North-West. Some of the deliberations resulted in the inscription of peace building mission in the Assembly's budget and the putting in place of peace and development committees in the 34 Sub Divisions of the North-West to champion the peace mission. In this spirit, the North-West Regional Assembly seeks to drive peace and local development in our  communities.
To achieve this, citizen participation is key, as it is statutory and enshrined in sections 40 and 41 of the Bill to Institute the General Code of Regional and Local Authorities, providing individuals (the Citizens, inhabitants, the public of the NWR) the opportunity to influence public decision making with regards to peace and development. We must use local solutions to local problems to drive peace and development in their respective communities.
Hon. Kalak also urged the stakeholders to  through their  representation, sensitize and mobilise the entire population of Donga Mantung to actively participate at all stages of the Regional development cycle (planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, reporting) etc. "Your Regional Executive Council has been trying in its own ways to ensure that the "no one is left behind" principle is observed through this Citizen Participation". He added.
He further called on all  members of Sub Divisional and Divisional Peace Development Committees, to be peace ambassadors leading by example so that one day we live in a Division and a North-West Region free of hate, jealousy, gossip, backbiting, envy,  threats, verbal abuse, physical abuse of any kind, assault, battery, kidnapping, murder etc.
The North-West Regional Assembly peace building mission in Donga Mantung Division has been ongoing through concertations, consultation, award of scholarships, distribution of didactic materials, distribution of MEDSHARE PPE, organization of sporting activities, meetings etc.
And the one day capacity training seminar was organized to equip Divisional and Sub Divisional peace and development committee members on their respective functions and to highlight procedures and guidelines on how they are goingto implement the peace development initiative (PDI) through Community Decentralized Activities (CDA) using the bottom top and human intensity labour approaches (HILA).
The earmarked projects for Donga Mantung under the guideline of the Regional Executive Council, that were costed by the competent technical state service concerned (the Delegation for Public Works) include:

These projects are expected to employ  about 500 targeted youths for this year and may be increased in the years to come.
During the seminar, technical guidelines and  terms of reference for the implementation of human high intensity labour approach were presented. Selected experts also drilled participants on key topics like communication during crisis period, active and creative peace building activities for long lasting peace, citizen participation in peace building etc.
Worthy of note is the fact that, the North West Regional Assembly's PDI  consist, a holistic approach, that brings on board evrryone in the communities - Fons, Ardos, Religious authorities, Quarter heads, Municipal Councillors,  Representatives of women and youth groups, commercial bikes drivers unions, Vigilante groups/lay security agents, registered beneficiaries etc.
Joining his voice with that of Hon. Kalak, the Mayor of Nkambe, Shey Nfor Musa highlighted that, as individual citizens, we all have to keep playing the lead role of engaging on constant mass sensitization for behavior change activities in our immediate communities, with the view to; De-radicalize our youths, stop hate speech and abusive use of social media, reject violence as a means of obtaining political gains, promoting a mind shift that  embraces peace and giving one another a chance to live by accepting and tolerating differences in opinion etc. "Let's Refuse to spread any inflammatory information that may jeopardize peace, denounce all those who  stand against peace and local development etc. Encourage the respect for State and personal property, public institutions, emblems, and promote initiatives aimed at institutionalizing dialogue and reconciliation among members of our  communities. Peace and Development Committees formed in every Sub Divisions should mediate and bring healing among afflicted persons". He added.
The next phase of the project that follows  consists of field work proper where in the  communities will engage in these community Decentralized Activities for peace building and development.

Birthday Wishes to President Biya from Hon. Agho Oliver

Member of parliament for Bafut/Tubah Constituency, Hon. Agho Oliver has thanked God for the Life of president Paul Biya, Cameroon's Head of State who turned 90 on Monday February 13th 2023.

At a symbolic event dedicated to celebrate the birthday of the country's president, organized by the member of parliament, thanks to the country's interior minister Paul Atanga Nji, the MP said, for living up to the age of 90, president Paul Biya has "disproved prophets of doom and scientists world over, who have constantly given to the understanding that Africans can never live to such a ripe age and that the life expectancy rate in Cameroon can ever go above 65."

Living to the ripe age of 90, he said, is not by chance nor by power, but a special grace of God, which president Biya incarnates via personal discipline, service to humanity and dedicated leadership.

Considering that just like Amos in the bible, whose living to the ripe age of 900 was believed to belong to one of the most exclusive clubs in the old testament; and so too is our President Paul Biya;

Reaffirming the latter and spirit of Psalms 90 (the only Psalms that is credited to Moses), and which Psalms invite those gone past the age of 70, 80, and upwards to apply their hearts to wisdom, exactly what our hero of the day, President Paul Biya has been doing; especially in skillfully managing the multiple conflicts;

Regarding the fact that the bible is clear on the fact that virgin Mary remained with Elizabeth for 90 days for the birth of John the Baptist, and that all the prayers and all the thanksgiving directed directly to God are mentioned just 90 times in the New Testament, Cameroonians have a reason to celebrate the fact that its leadership is having an opportunity to share such symbolism;

In joining our critical voices with those of other well-meaning Cameroonians, we, the active forces of the North West Region of Cameroon, pray God to continue to bless and preserve our leader, President Paul Biya, so he continues to steer ship of state to safe shores.
