Buhari to Provide One Meal a Day for Primary School Pupils - VP Osinbajo Reveals



Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice-President of Nigeria, revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari plans to give primary school children free meals.
 
At the 45th Annual Accountants Conference in Abuja on Tuesday 1st September 2015, Vice President, Yemi Osinbanjo, revealed to the general public that President Muhammadu Buhari plans to give primary school children free meals.

The free feeding scheme is a core project of the Federal Government in an effort to yield about 1.14 million jobs, and increase food production.
At the event which he spoke on the topic, “Re-positioning Nigeria for Sustainable Development: From Rhetoric to Performance,” he said;
“One of the most important interventions required in the education sector is capacity building to improve teacher quality. This programme is intended to drive teachers’ capacity development; boost basic education; attract talents to the teaching profession. Better educated population increases economic potential for productivity.
The All Progressives Congress has made a commitment to provide one-meal-a-day for all primary school students; that would create jobs in agriculture, including poultry, catering and delivery services.”

9th Anniversary of The Eye Newspaper: Hundreds Celebrate with 2dgrees Social Value Champion 2015

 On August 31, 2015, over 600 people of all walks of life, community leaders, religious leaders, traditional rulers, farmers, teachers, nurses, politicians etc gathered at the CamCCUL Hall in Nkambe, Donga Mantung Division in the North West Region of Cameroon to join in celebrating a milestone achievement of their local newspaper. The event which was also greased with celebrations marking 9 years of continued existence of The Eye Newspaper also ushered in beneficiaries of the 2nd edition of A Clean Community Program. Speaking at the 3 in 1 event, officiating Senior Divisional Officer for Donga Mantung, Ngone Ndodemesape Bernard urged the over 36 media organs present to copy the example of The Eye Newspaper-A Clean Community Program. He said innovative ideas can change lives in society. According to Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh, the idea is changing lives in communities and The Fomunyoh Foundation will spare no effort to see it replicated nationwide. The Divisional Officer for Nkambe Central Abba Abdouraman said The Eye is a world champion in Social Value not because of richest but because the Editor, Fai Cassian Ndi thinks locally and act globally.
Emotions were high as hundreds share tears of joy including the Editor. At the end of the day, 25 communities of Bui, Donga Mantung and Ngoketunjia Divisions benefited from equipment support as part of A Clean Community Program 2015....
