Cooperative Credit Union League-CamCCUL has granted some 31 credit unions of
the North West Region equipment and material support to enable them improve on
their activities. Speaking at the handing over ceremony that took place at its
head office at Bamenda Commercial Avenue, CamCCUL General Manager, Tientchou
Jonas said that the support is within the framework of the partnership between
CamCCUL and the Support Project for the Development of Rural
Microfinance-PADMIR. He said that in
addition to the equipment and materials, North West Credit Unions affiliated to
CamCCUL Network will also benefit from specialized trainings on Good Governance
and Loan Delinquency management. He called on the beneficiaries to use the
support for the purpose that it is intended to. He added that the support is
intended to reinforce their lending activities, secure members’ funds and
ameliorate the quality of services rendered to members.
It is worth mentioning
that the support consisted of 22 all roads motorbikes, 14 safes, 12 complete
computer sets and 04 diesel engine electricity generators. Expectations are
high at that the beneficiaries will be able to improve on their development
especially in membership, savings, loan recovery and a drastic reduction in delinquency.
