Makfu Magdalene Njuh Ngayi, who passed unto eternity at the age of 110 years on July 29, 2015 at about 5:40 am, has left Yaounde for eternal rest in Tabenken-Donga Mantung Division. She was the oldest of the Bondede family of Tabenken. Thousands gathered in Yaounde on Friday August 13, to pay their last respect to the one who family members described as Mami Good Fashion, Granny and Role Model. Thousands are also expected in Tabenken to pay their last honour to the last matriarchs of the Bondede. August 13 is expected to be gray and blustery as steady stream of family luminaries began arriving on Friday, some by limousine. All those who knew her will be there but not only for a moment— had it almost seemed that Makfu had been reborn. The truth, though, is that she was a woman of the people reasons why almost everyone in Yaounde came to her wake-keep to say a final goodbye.
