'Zimbabwe Presidential Election: Fake' Results Gave Mnangagwa Win - Chimasa

Nelson Chamisa

Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa, who received more than 44 percent of the vote, said on Twitter that “unverified fake results” had been announced by the electoral commission.
The commission “must release proper and verified results endorsed by parties,” Chamisa tweeted.
“The level of opaqueness, truth deficiency, moral decay and values deficit is baffling.”
Meanwhile the Zimbabwe’s Electoral body has declared President Emmerson Mnangagwa as the winner of the tight election
In a brief moment of drama shortly before the commission announced the winner in Friday’s early hours, two agents for Chamisa’s Movement for Democratic Change party took the stage and told waiting journalists that they “totally reject” the results.
The further said  that they had not signed the election results as required, in protest. Police escorted them from the room.
The week’s events left many Zimbabweans with a sense of unease and questions about how different Mnangagwa is from his predecessor and former mentor, longtime leader Robert Mugabe, who stepped down in November under military pressure amid a ruling party feud after 37 years in power.
The 75-year-old Mnangagwa has tried to recast himself as a voice of change, declaring that the once-prosperous Zimbabwe is “open for business” and inviting the Western election observers who for years had been banned by Mugabe.
If this election is judged credible, it will be a big step toward the lifting of international sanctions on this southern African nation whose economy has long collapsed and whose reputation has suffered after years of repression of the opposition and allegedly rigged votes.
So far international observers have issued mixed reviews, calling Monday’s election peaceful and a break from the past but expressing grave concern about the military’s “excessive” use of force.
They criticised the delay in releasing the results of the presidential vote, saying it raised concerns about possible manipulation.
Anxious Zimbabweans waited to see what would happen next.
In Kuwadzana, a poor suburb outside the capital where groups of youths overnight sang and chanted MDC slogans before results were announced, it was silent.
One street vendor in the capital on Friday morning, Roy Mukwena, said Mnangagwa “won by force. No, I’m not happy, just because these elections were not free and fair.”
Some, however, were content to move on and deal with the new leader.
“Yeah, I think he’s the right man. Because he has been there for quite some time and he knows where the weaknesses are,” said a 29-year-old clerk who gave his name only as Eddy.
“He has the experience from … previous government. So he knows how to maneuver all the problems we have. I just hope he will do well.”

Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien Retires

Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has announced his retirement from international football, after over 12 years of active service with Ghana.

The 35-year-old, who is currently without a club after parting ways with Indonesian outfit Persib Bandung, last featured for the Black Stars in 2014 at the Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
He was one of the three players, alongside Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng, accused of masterminding agitations for players appearance fees during the tournament. He maintains doing nothing wrong. “If I am called to play for the Black Stars again I won't honour it. No, it's not possible,” Essien told GHOne TV.
“This is because I've retired from international duty. I even retired before we went to the World Cup in Brazil but I was called back [by coach Kwesi Appiah] to come and help.
“And then in Brazil they treated me like [something] so I'm not playing for the country again. It's time for the new generation,” he added.
Essien made his Ghana debut in 2002 and boasts of 58 caps as well as nine goals. He was a key member of the country's golden generation that played their first-ever Fifa World Cup in 2006.

Digne Leaves Barcelona for Everton

The former Lille, Paris Saint-Germain and Roma defender has signed a five-year contract with the Toffees

Everton have completed the signing of Lucas Digne from Barcelona for £22m ($29m).
The former Lille, Paris Saint-Germain and Roma left-back has signed a five-year deal with the Toffees, ending his two-year stay at Camp Nou.
Everton have landed Digne for an initial £19.5m (€22m/$25.6m) fee which could eventually rise to £22m (€25m/$29m) once bonuses are included.
Speaking about his move to Goodison Park, Digne told Everton's official website: “Everton is a big club with a great history. I want to play games, win games and excite the fans with the quality of our football.
“I want to show my best football here and discover the best league in the world. Everybody loves the Premier League. I am loving the fact I am coming here.
“I am not afraid, I am excited. For me, it is a new challenge to discover a country, a league, people and a great club such as Everton. It is fabulous.”
Everton boss Marco Silva has also hailed Digne's arrival, adding: “It is important to say that he is a player who, from the first moment he was contacted, showed enormous desire to play at Everton.
“He is a high-quality player, aggressive, with good technical ability and in the past five seasons he has played two years at Paris St-Germain, one in Roma and for the past two seasons he has demonstrated his clear quality in Barcelona.
“Lucas is a player who will add competitiveness in a position where we only had Leighton Baines last season and he is accustomed to winning. This is his mentality having captured titles in his career and having these on his résumé.”
Digne emerged through Lille's famed youth system before moving to PSG in 2013, helping the club win two Ligue 1 titles and two Coupe de la Ligue crowns.
After spending the 2015-16 season on loan at Roma, Digne moved to Barcelona in 2016 and made 12 La Liga appearances as the club lifted the Spanish league title last term.
Digne, who was on standby for France's World Cup-winning squad in the summer, becomes Everton's second summer signing alongside Richarlison, who joined for £40m ($53m) in July.

HOFNA, YALI Fellows Call on Youths to Value and to Get Engage in Service

Looking up to Mandela as the Role Model

Hope for the Needy Association- HOFNA Cameroon has made a clarion call for young people to value and engage in service.  Harping on the Mandela model during Mandela Day celebration in Bamenda last July 12, 2018 the Founder and Executive Director of HOFNA Cameroon Christelle Bay who was flanked by Mandela Washington said “This day is particularly important this year because it should have been Mandela’s 100th birthday.
The Bamenda mixed boys and girls football tournament that greased the event was described by impressionists as one of the best tools in behavioral change for youths. This was the first time that both boys/girls played a football match in front of many and it was innovative. The YALI (Young African Leaders Initiative) Network also used the occasion to call on YALI members to do something to leave their own legacy, to emulate Mandela’s life. To  Christelle Bay “we choose this day to bring the young people together; we decided to celebrate it in our own way; we call it the YALI-selves event promoting service; we brought adolescents together..”
The Nelson Mandela International Day 2018 marks 100 years since the birth of Nelson Mandela. The Centenary according to the UN Secretary General Antonio Gueteres provided an occasion to reflect on his life and legacy, and to follow his call to "make of the world a better place." Mandela the UN notes “embodied the highest values of the United Nations. One hundred years after his birth, Mandela’s example of courage and compassion continue to inspire the world.”
The
Nelson Mandela Foundation dedicated this year's Mandela Day to Action Against Poverty, honouring Mandela's leadership and devotion to fighting poverty and promoting social justice for all.

After Brilliant Performance at World Cup, Mbappe Gets New Jersey Number At PSG

Mbappe will be taking up the shirt number left behind by Lucas Moura who left the club for North London club, Tottenham Hotspur.

Kylian Mbappe

France international, Kylian Mbappe has been given a new jersey number at Paris Saints-Germain, PSG.

Mbappe will now wear the No.7 shirt for PSG for the 2018-19 season. The forward switched from his previous number, 29, which he had worn since joining the club from Monaco last year, ahead of the new campaign.

The 19-year-old now takes up the No.7 jersey vacated by Lucas Moura upon his move to Tottenham last season. Mbappe inspired France to win the 2018 World Cup in Russia this summer. He scored a goal in their 4-2 victory over Croatia in the final.

“I thought for a long time that the number was not important, it was only on the pitch that it mattered but it is an indication of your ambitions, the player you want to be,” Mbappe told the club’s website.

“I will try to continue my progress on the field and I think for me it was the right time to change number, I think it’s a kind of affirmation,” Mbappe told the club’s website.

“Number 7 is a legendary number, many great players who have worn it. I hope I could do credit in the field with this number.

“I will continue to work to continue my progress and see where it leads me but, with a number like this, we start well!

“I came to Paris Saint-Germain to leave my mark, there is a beautiful story to write and this is just the beginning.

“We are here again for good years and I hope that we will be able to do great things together.”

Ladies, Here are 13 Important Reasons Why 'You're Still Single'

Are you one of the people who have remained single for such a long time that you start to think that the universe is out to get you or the terrestrial forces from your village put a target on their forehead? You'd find this article very helpful.

File photo used for illutrative purpose (Image source: Google)

Here are the 13 likely reasons why you are still single:

1. You fear being vulnerable

People often fear what they don’t know and try to protect themselves from situations where they become dependent on someone else either for their happiness or something else. People fear getting hurt, but the only trick or solution to this is to find the right person to be vulnerable with.

2. You’re stuck in a “Situation-ship”

Like the modern day relationship tagged “Friends with benefits”(FWB), most people these days like to avoid the responsibilities that comes with being in a relationship so they just prefer to have their sexual needs met without being emotionally attached.

Getting out of this type of relationship gets tough when one party gets emotionally attached. The only way out of this is having a discussion about what you both want and if it doesn’t match your needs, take a further step to end it and move on.

3. You’re stuck on an ex

Moving on from a loved one can prove tough but, no matter how cliche it may seem, you have to go out and meet new people. Some breakups can leave you confused and have you questioning your awesomeness. But give yourself another chance to love and stop pushing away people who make an attempt.

4. You believe in “e-romance”

Although it may seem easier and they may meet your attachment needs, online romances aren’t always the real deal and are often not good enough.

5. You’re looking for “the one”

Most people think there is only one ideal partner meant for them in the entire universe and they limit themselves to finding the perfect one without giving any other person a chance. We suggest that you correct your mindset, choose someone, and then allow them to get closer to you.

6. You limit yourself with standards

People often focus on certain criteria like “must have a college degree,” “must live within this distance” “must be this age” “must drive this car” “must be 6ft tall” etc, but while its always good to have a standard, learn not to limit yourself to types and get carried away as someone could possess all of your superficial criteria, and still be a wrong for you or not be even remotely attracted to you.

7. You don’t know what you want

People often like to lament on how they are single and haven’t met anyone, but when asked what exactly they want or need from a partner they go blank. Deciding what you really want in a partner gets you 50% ahead of your search.

If you’re really ready to be serious, you’ll have to be very expressive with your words and stop saying things like “lets see how things go”, “I’m not sure what i want right now”,etc.

8. You’re impatient and settle too easily

You hear of people starting a new relationship just after breaking up with another person. Although some people use this as a coping mechanism, it mostly never works as they just always try to fill a void.

After a break up, allow yourself be sad and cry if you want, express your emotions instead of bottling it up then when you feel you’ve moved on then you can begin a new relationship

9. You Play Hard to Get

While it may seem like fun to take your time and play the hardball game, there is really no point in making a person to keep trying if you don’t share the same feelings. Once you realize there is no possible chance to have a serious relationship with a person, let this person know so you both can move on to other people.

10. You Think You Should Wait.

These days you hear guys say they are waiting to have money before they get into a relationship and other excuses from ladies on wy they would rather wait.
The truth remains that you can find that special someone and improve while you’re with them.

11. You Think Good Mates Are Scarce

The fact that you have met some bad eggs doesn’t mean everyone is out to disappoint you.Sitting back and hoping the right one finds you isn’t the way to go as you’ll only be setting yourself up for disappointment so just go out there and date.

12. You can’t express yourself

Hard to believe as it may seem, maybe due to social awkwardness or other reasons, some people find it hard or don’t know hot to express themselves and lose out experiencing beautiful relationships. Learn to express your feelings even if its reciprocated or not.

13. You don’t put yourself out there

As the popular internet slang says “shoot your shot”, we now see people taking chances to meet new people they fancy by asking them out on several platforms.

Note that if you wait for fate to drop Mr/Mrs. Right on your laps then you’re up for a disappointment as in this case, you have to take the bull by the horn. Also don’t shy away from social events, who know who you may meet.
