Do You Know Addiction To Social Media Encourages False Lifestyles? A Must Read

People have been advised to tread cautiously while using social media as it encourages fake lifestyles. Mr Blaise Aboh, a Lead Trainer for CodeforAfrica, says addiction to social media encourages false lifestyles and  other vices.
Aboh, who is  also the founder of Orodata Science,  said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja. According to him, many young people especially ladies have adopted false lifestyles because of the social media.
“Instagram is filled with a lot of fake people living fake lives; a lady would travel to Dubai with a whole lot of clothes and take pictures in different places.
“When they are back in Nigeria, they post these pictures week in week out and they post certain things that are out of the way to show the  fake lives.
“Many of their friends not knowing that it is all lies go into unholy things in order to meet up with them;  this is another negative aspect of the social media.
“Another thing is the way we have some conversations  where people based  on their own opinion say things just because they have the platform.
“They are not experts in that area but because they have so many followers, and some people who don’t know any better would take that information and begin to live their lives that way," he said.
According to him, people’s addiction to the social media through mobile devices also exposes them to health hazards that otherwise could have been avoided.
The expert said another negative aspect of the social media is that it could lead to insomnia.
“You find a situation whereby people are staying up late at night because of this endless scrolling syndrome.”
“Instagram is the worst because they scroll and scroll and they don’t even get to sleep”.
“Apart from that, when people scroll on their phones, they are slouched and bent toward  the phone;  so over the time, it causes a strain to the back and this causes back pain.”
“So there is an increased back pain due to the use of mobile devices,  so in as much as we have the merits of social media and mobile devices,  the development has its consequences," he said.

Libya Coach Apologises After Accusing Nigeria Of Using 'Juju' To Win Games

After accusing Nigeria of using 'juju' to win games, the coach of Libya has openly apologized to the Super Eagles. Libya's coach Adel Amrouche has openly apologised after accusing Nigeria’s Super Eagles of relying on “Juju” to win their games.
Amrouche who led Libya to a scoreless draw in Durban against South Africa said after the game that he was looking forward to playing against the Super Eagles.
“South Africa is a fantastic team and have fantastic players and it’s not easy to play against them.
“For me, I’m ready for Nigeria; if they want we can play both games in Nigeria; they believe in juju and we believe in God.” he stated after the match.
However, he has now been forced to apologize after public outrage over his controversial comment.
Amrouche took to Twitter and tweeted: “I apologise to the Nigeria football community for using the words JUJU in the press conference in SA.
“I used the word in jest. I respect Nigerians and their RICH football tradition. I’m a man who likes joking, but I realise I used the word out of context. Please accept my apologies.”

Zinedine Zidane Tipped to Replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United

Zinedine Zidane has fuelled speculation that he could be being lined up to replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United by revealing that he plans to return to management “soon”.
The Frenchman has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
He walked away from that post on the back of an historic third successive Champions League triumph, with La Liga title glory also savoured at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Zidane left Madrid claiming that the Blancos needed “something different” to keep them competitive at the highest level.
He has enjoyed a break from the stresses of coaching, but the 46-year-old is now eager to get back into the dugout.
Zidane told TVE: “Certainly I’ll be coaching again soon because it’s what I like doing and what I’ve done all my life.”
It has been suggested that the former France international’s next job could be in England.
He is being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford amid Manchester United’s early struggles in 2018-19.
Jose Mourinho has claimed that it will cost the Red Devils too much to sack him, with the Portuguese having committed to a new contract in January.
He is, however, under pressure to deliver results after overseeing an inconsistent start to the new season.
If he is unable to turn the tide, then United will be left with little choice but to make a change.
Zidane would likely be among those taken into consideration if he remains without a job.
A spell with Real is the only top-level experience taken in by the World Cup winner, but he proved himself capable at the Santiago Bernabeu and is well respected throughout the game.

Seychelles Keeper Becomes Internet Star

Dave Mussard

Dave Mussard who is a chubby goalkeeper has become an internet sensation following his physical size which is rare. Nigeria ran out comprehensive 3-0 winners against the Seychelles on Saturday – but it was an opposition player who caught the most attention, according to The Sun.
Seychelles goalkeeper, Dave Mussard, is not your average international goalkeeper. The 31-year-old is a pastry chef by day with Hotel Patatran on La Digue Island.
Such is his dedication to his job, he takes 15 minute boat rides to work after training sessions. However, Mussard, became a social media hit on Saturday for one reason only – the fact he’s bigger than most footballers.
Mussard’s robust and bulky physique was immediately picked up on social media, with images of the heavy keeper circulating.
Ultimately, his physique became the main point of interest for many watching the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification clash. One social media cheekily compared Mussard to Brazil legend Ronaldo, while many Nigerian supporters weighed in with their opinions on the former.
It’s safe to say the general consensus from the Super Eagles fans on Twitter was one which was relieved they didn’t have Mussard in goal.
Some even likened him to a bank manager, as well as a professor. Seychelles, who are bottom of Group E, take on South Africa next on Thursday – with Mussard set to feature once more.
