Mafor Achidi Achu Judith: A Woman Worth Celebrating on Women's day

Mafor Yaah Judith Sunday ’épouse Achidi is the General Manager of CAMTEL. As CAMTEL boss, Mafor Yaah Judith Sunday epouse Achidi has accumulated over 25 years experience in governance and entrepreneurship development. She is one of the most formidable woman of all the women in leadership position. Her astuteness at the helm of Camtel is very positive as she is set to make Camtel leader of mobile network in Cameroon. Ahead of the BLUE Camtel project launch, the programme has already registered hundreds of thousands of new subscribers.
Mafor Yaah Judith it should be noted has served CAMTEL in various capacities ranging from regional director for Littoral, South West, North West and Center regions respectively. Before her recent appointment, she was Commercial Director. She holds a degree in business administration and Master Degree in Banking and Finance.
Mafor Yaah Achidi Achu Judith Yaah Sunde as she is commonly called is a woman of additional qualities. This is a woman who unlike others is busy round the clock. As a seasoned administrator, she believes like Immanuel Kant that “the more we are busy, the more we feel we are alive and contributing for the welfare of others”. Her educational background coupled with her devotion to be perfect has made her to transform the principle of education for work into the principle of education through work. Reasons why she puts  she had always put the local communities especially youthsand women ahead in all her actions as she believes that by empowering the rural women and youths she would be an avenue par excellence to change lives through work.
As a Christian, she believes like Martin Luther King that “working is praying”. One prelate once said that every human natured person is made up of the human and the divine and that when the divine overrides, the human one becomes closer to God. Yet, Mafor Achidi Achu Judith goes beyond that by making work the divine with the human as a pairs.
Some years ago she defeated all speculations when she donated a football trophy worth a million FCFA for youths in Donga Mantung Division to celebrate the 50 Anniversary of Cameroon’s independence. The event ended in grand style with over 20.000 man crowds at the finals. Her contribution to the welfare of rural women and youths caught the admiration of Donga Mantung Fons and she was coroneted Senior Ma-Yaah of Donga Mantung division. The second edition of the tournament took place at Ndu last year with over 24 football teams taking part. In a bit to promote the football nursery of Donga Mantung Division, Mafor Yaah Achidi Achu has proven that what a man can do, a woman can do it better. Her largesse to rural women of Nkambe Central has been out numbered ranging from farm inputs to maize seeds and others.
Her devotion for work and down to earth nature ignited fons of the North West who coroneted her with the title of “Mafor”
Accompanying rural women through support has been her line of action in fostering women empowerment. What makes her dissimilar from others is that she does uncommon things in a very common manner.
While working for Camtel, she had proven that she is duty conscious. In the Littoral and South West regions where she served as Regional Director of CAMTEL, she left an indelible mark of greatness that speaks positively and confirms the aptitude of women in leadership positions. In the Southwest Region she succeeded in putting in place the optic fiber. In the North West, she is also noted to have transformed the entire service into a bee hive of activities. Putting CAMTEL to the forefront by putting in place new installations at Jakiri, Wum, Nkambe and Oku as well as the terminal optical fibre at the University of Bamenda before her workaholic nature moved her to the head office in Yaounde where she is Director of Urban Development at CAMTEL. Notwithstanding, Mafor Achidi Achu Judith Yaah Sunde is also a great supporter of the CPDM. In the political arena her presence in Donga Mantung Division is often described as a booster to youths and the woman folk. If you have never met a cheese full of prominence, get closer to Senior Ma Yaah Mafor Achidi Achu Judith to rediscover her role as a woman emancipator. She has been at the forefront of women advocacy for peace in the North West and South West region.  He desire to see peace returning to the North West and South West Regions has ignited hopes.

Covid 19: Minister of Territorial Administration Instructs Governors, SDOs to Intensify Barrier measures

Paul Atanga Nji, Minister of Territorial Administration has given firm and strict instructions to the 10 Governors and 52 Senior Divisional Officers to intensify barrier measures to curb the spread of covid 19 into communities. MINAT boss is quoted to have issued a letter in which he ordered that the wearing of facemasks in public places is now obligatory. Minister Paul Atanga Nji's instructions comes following Prime Minister's call for Cameroonians to respect WHO and Government barrier measures.
It should be recalled that since the outbreak of the pandemic, Paul Atanga Nji has been at the forefront distributing covid 19 support kits.
In the communique issued on March 5, 2021, MINAT boss instructed that as from today March 8, hand washing basins and hand sanitizers must be placed in all public places, schools, markets, etc. He went further to reiterated that SDOs, DOs and mayors should go down regularly to ensure that these barrier measures are attic ly respected.
On removal of corpse, the monster equally instructed that not more than 40 persons should be allowed to attend and that hospital officials should ensure it's respected. While the letter equally states that not.more than 50 persons should be allowed to attend a burial ceremony. The same measures concern churches, marriages and other public gatherings.
Prospects are high at that if these instructions are respected, they could mitigate the widespread of covid 19 in communities. Notwithstanding, another school or thought holds that if the public doesn't adhere, MINAT may take more drastic measures which include prohibiting public gatherings, closure of bars, snacks and restaurants in order to intensify the fight against covid 19.

A Great Man, A Great Life, A Great Burial: The Farewell to Mbeh Wilfred Shey The Great

Mbeh Wilfred Shey was laid to rest today January 16, 2021 with military honours. The retired police inspector and former deputy mayor of the Nkambe's burial equally witnessed the massive presence of militants of the Social Democratic Front where he was current District chairman of the Nkambe Electoral District. Present at the burial was the Representative of the Delegate General for Public Security, Commissioner Fritz, the Mayor of Nkambe council Musa Shey Nfor, SDF District Secretary cum Alternate Senator Sajoh Amidu Yerima and several other prominent dignitaries that were buried by the crowd.
Addressing mourners the representative of the Delegate General for National Security, late Mbeh Wilfred Shey had a brilliant carreer in the police corpse. And that he worked in the different services with dexterity serving as first chief of Police Post in Mboppi and Camp Yabassi respectively.  Mbeh Wilfred Shey it should be noted retired from the Police force as second grade Inspector.
The mayor of Nkambe, Musa Shey Nfor on his part described Mbeh Wilfred Shey as a great man and development luminary. The mayor of Nkambe used the ocassion to extend a condolence message to the SDF family, the people of Nkambe and the immediate family. Musa Shey Nfor said Mbeh Wilfred was someone who always negotiated for peace. "Let us not enjoy along party lines but let us bit farewell to our Mayor, Prince, father, brother. And let it be a unifying factor", he concluded.
Amidu Sajoh, SDF District Secretary who doubles as Alternate Senator for Donga Mantung Division said that the man,  Mbeh Wilfred Shey who was fondly called Pa DC was a household name in the Division. He reminded mourners that Pa DC's devoted service to the party earned him an award from The Eye newspaper as the Most Devoted Militant in the year 2013. He went further to say that when Pa DC joined the SDF as retired police inspector, many people thought he was going to act as military man but "you proved them wrong because you blended your military experience and the love to serve your people". Amidu Sajoh revealed that it was Mbeh Wilfred Shey who as deputy mayor introduced the idea of cleanup campaign in Nkambe town. "You fought for social justice...moved on foot to educate your militants to stand for democracy, justice and development. Rest assured Pa DC that the candle you lit will continue to shine until democracy is established" he emphasized.
When the Cascade was lowered, faces went dark. The sorrows and pains on faces could not separated that a Great Man, A Great Life was taking the final journey of no return. While words can never fully express how much someone means to his people, language can still provide comfort, solace, hope, and even inspiration following the death of a Great Man like Mbeh Wilfred Shey. But pains, grief and mourning  can sometimes speak the words people are unable to express.

Tribute to Pa Mbeh Wilfred Shey: The Hero

Cometh the hour, cometh the man, that’s the only suitable and most fitting tribute I can reserve for the departed likeable hero, Pa Mbeh Wilfred Shey, who exited the game of life on December 7, 2020. Pa Mbeh Wilfred Shey began the journey of no return in Douala today as his former colleagues in the police corpse gave him last homage.  Thousands of mourners also paid him their last respect.
In fact December 7, 2020 happens to be another sad day for the people of Donga Mantung Division. A melancholic day that I would have loved to see it erased from the calendar, but since Heaven needed a hero, I have no other option than to succumb to the Lord Almighty, for His decision is supreme. He (Lord) gives and takes without asking anyone. With the bitter blows of what life could offer on earth where are told to be passerbys I had to console myself with the biblical thought that heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. Unlike the journey on earth, we don't need to take anything along for the journey of no return, "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out" (1 Timothy 6:7).Everything you need had been prepared by Jesus Christ says the Bible: "In my Father's house, are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you..... " (John 14:2). One inescapable question God will surely ask all of us when we get to the other side is,"What have you done with the gift of my Son Jesus Christ when you were on earth?
The Man whom everyone fondly called Daddy or DC, was a retired police inspector, refined politician,  development luminary and a lovely father. I would say in many ways he was a jovial man who never failed to crack a joke whenever the opportunity arose. He was an easygoing man, soft spoken and was affectionately known in all circles. Pa Mbeh Wilfred Shey had an affinity for people from all walks of life, the old, the young were his friends while his enthusiasm and passion for development and social democracy knew no borders.
In fact I had the privilege to enjoy an amicable relationship with him, benefitting from his sage advices. When I got news that he was called up to prepare a better place for all of us, I felt a pinch in my throat. I gave myself a second thought that it was a dream.  At my age tears ran on my face erasing the dust that had settled on my forehead drawing the lines of sadness. Too hard to accept that the sad news was true.
When I saw images of his removal and police honours from Douala today, I started believing it was true DC has finally taken the journey of no return. Since then I have been uttering incoherently to myself that this can’t be true and I had to pinched myself several times in an effort to drag myself back to reality, in thought that I was still daydreaming. Today, thousands paid their last homage to the departed hero in Douala. The people of Donga Mantung, the SDF family, Wimbum community and his former colleagues gave him the honours as well as his political friends. Here goes a hero, a great man who has left an idelible mark of greatness in the sand of time.

Life is a journey of the history of what man has accomplished in this world. And of all men I have met along this journey Pa Mbeh Wilfred Shey, was one of the Greatest. This Prince of the Nkambe Palace was the leaders of men. He was a modellers, who served in the police corps and retired with the rank of Police Inspector. He served as deputy of the Nkambe council.
A refined politician who is currently District chairman of the Nkambe SDF Electoral District a position he held for several years with dexterity. To sum it all, as a politician he was a man who would do extraordinary things in a very common way.  One of the few trusted politician of his generation. Whatsoever the general mass of men contrived to do or to attain when it comes to development initiatives; Pa Mbeh Wilfred Shey was always there. He is one of the few remaining founding fathers of the Warr Cultural and Development Association-WACUDA, founding father of Nkambe Cultural and Development Association-NKACUDA and former Douala Branch President of WImbum Cultural and Development Association-WICUDA and WACUDA respectively.
Wikipedia tells me that the great man theory is a 19th-century idea according to which history can be largely explained by the impact of great men, or heroes. And Thomas Carlilye states that in this journey of life highly influential and unique individuals who, due to their natural attributes, such as superior intellect, heroic courage, extraordinary leadership abilities or divine inspiration, have a decisive historical effect. These attributes clearly define the Man, the Hero I knew Pa Mbeh Shey Wilfred.
The longer you knew him, the more you realized how remarkable of a man he was, how remarkable a servant-leader, how devoted to his family, how loyal to his friends, how faithful to God, and how available he was to literally anyone who needed help.  In these days in our society, one of the highest compliments you can give a man is the most simple thing to say and powerful when it’s said in earnest:  “He’s good man.”  “He’s a great man.”  Pa Mbeh Wilfred was my Hero.
RIP

Ta Shey Franklin Ndzi Nformi: The Man of the Golden Heart

Addressing the hundreds of youths at yesterday's football for peace finals, Ta Shey Frank as he is fondly called applauded the youths for their adherence to peace, mutual coexistence and how it was demonstrated during the tournaments. He continued by emphasising that nothing is so great than building a culture of peace. He encouraged all the youths to go back to school come Monday January 4, and promised that Football for Peace is an initiative that will continue every year. Ta Shey Franklin Ndzi Nformi actually demonstrated that he is a man with the golden heart. In addition to the logistics, he equally donated two sets of jersys to the finalists. And he raised the raised the amount for each winning teams and even participation. Though everything was voluntary, Ta Shey Frank had to motivate the referees for a job well done.
One of the speakers, Desaild who oversees youth football in the Division also spoke elaborately on youth football and the ongoing under 17 championship and youth license. Ta Shey Frank promised to enroll some selected youths so as to enable them build a better future. He called on the youths to respect their parents, teachers etc as well as their peers. Peace, he said is a vital tool in community building and as youths they are the ones on whom humanity is built.  Bawe Vincent and Ngebi were also encouraged and applauded for their efforts in harnessing young talents. They have also stood the taste of time for promoting young talents. They are the unsung heroes of youth football

Shey Jones Yembe Honoured for Promoting Peace, National Unity

The former member of government, Shey Jones Yembe, has used this year’s football tournament, organised in Yaounde for boys and girls from the Wimbum extraction, in Donga Mantung division, in the North West region, to promote peace, living together and national unity. The yearly tournament which is an initiative of the Wimbum Cultural and Development Association, WICUDA is one of the highest crowd pulling event in the history of the Mbum people. However, this year's tournament was exceptional due to the fact that it was aimed at promoting peace, national unity and social integration. The organisers say it also seeks to promote local football talents and keep idle youths busy. This year’s edition, dubbed: “Unity and Fair Play” , was: “A Special Dedication To His Excellency Shey Jones Yembe, the unsung Hero of Mbumland.

Enter Shey Jones Yembe, Promoter of Peace and  Unity

This year’s tournament that saw the participation of ten football teams and four handball teams, got the huge financial backing of Shey Jones Yembe. This reporter was reliably told that the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of the renowned and Cameroon’s best road construction company, Societe Mag Sarl, made available to the tournament’s Organising Committee, several millions to ensure a hitch-free sporting jamboree. All participating teams were given a cash prize of at least 100,000FCFA in the first round of both tournaments. Winners of the football trophy, played yesterday, went home with a cash prize of 700,000FCFA and a trophy, the runners-up pocketed the sum of 500,000FCFA while the team that emerged third was awarded the sum of 400,000FCFA.
In the handball category, the winner of the tournament was given a cash prize of 200,000FCFA and a trophy, runners-up bagged 150,000FCFA and the third team was given a consolation cash prize of 100,000FCFA. Peace, national unity showcased at tournament. This year’s edition of the WICUDA tournament, it must be said, provided a rare opportunity for the people of Donga Mantung, who are resident in the nation’s capital, to showcase their peace-loving nature, patriotism and their firm belief in a one and indivisible Cameroon. In addition, yesterday’s football final, pulled the biggest crowd in the history of recent Anglophone gatherings in Yaounde. Kith and kin from all the five subdivisions that make up Donga Mantung, politicians; irrespective of their political leanings, elite, members of the civil society and the clergy from all the division’s five subdivisions, as well as other Cameroonian sports lovers, were present at yesterday’s Shey Jones Yembe’s-sponsored WICUDA football final. Several dance groups and traditional displays from Donga Mantung, graced yesterday’s football final.
The tournament’s sponsor, Shey Jones Yembe, had said repeatedly his objective was to pull out youth who had been brainwashed to take up arms against the state from the bushes and to prevent others from joining Ambazonia fighters in the bushes. The tournament’s organisers appear to have corroborated Shey Jones Yembe, as they told reporters that most of the youths who actively took part in the sporting activities were ex-fighters of Wimbum origin. Meanwhile, back in Donga Mantung division, life has since returned to normal in areas like Mbot village, Ako, Nwa and Ndu subdivisions where thousands of youth had joined the Amba fighters and were terrorising residents of the localities. The president of WICUDA, Yaounde branch, Ta-Nformi Ngwatu Emmanuel, has hailed Shey Jones Yembe, for accepting to sponsor this year’s tournbament. Going by him, the tournament was more than just timely, as it gainfully occupied idled youth and the popu- lation of Donga Mantung resident in Yaounde, at a time the North West and South West regions are going through a turbulent moment which has forced many youth out of school, with some having picked up arms against the state…In the midst of the current conflict, the people of Donga Mantung and Nkambe in particular have, through their massive participation in this tournament, shown that they can hold tight to values of peace, unity and living together…this tournament has further strengthened the peace- loving nature of the people of Donga Mantung,” he revealed.  He used the opportunity to thank Shey Jones Yembe for what he said was his peace and national unity-driven ini-tiati especially in Donga Mantung division..Added he: “we are so gratified by this elite. We want to thank this peaceful community that has the tradition of being united, for exhibiting the sense of oneness and patriotism by massively answering present throughout this tournament. The population of Donga Mantung has shown and is still showing to the world that to be united is to pull all the strings together…”
Explaining why this year’s tournament was dedicated to Shey Jones Yembe, the WICUDA-Yaounde branch president clarified that: “it was carefully designed to honour Shey Jones Yembe for his unmatched but unsung contribution to the peace that now exists in Donga Mantung division in general and his Nkambe Central subdivision of origin in particular…”

 Force tranquille' of Donga Mantung

The CPDM permanent delegation leader for Donga Mantung, Shey Jones Yembe, may not belong to the category of politicians who mount rooftops to blow their trumpet, each time they undertake any political activity, but he remains one of the key persons behind why Donga Mantung is today a completely CPDM fief. The strength of the former minister, who doubles as the Board Chairman of the Ports Authority of Douala, PAD, lies in the fact that he believes in action than making noise.
The likes of Hon Ngala Gerard, Hon Mbongyor Naomi Nfor and Mayor Kanfon Borno Abdou of the Ndu CPDM-run council, who have emerged as the new breed of Donga Mantung CPDM bigwigs, have only Shey Jones Yembe to thank for bringing them this far.
It is an undeniable fact that Hon. Ngala Gerard and Hon. Mbongyor Naomi Nfor, especially were little known beyond their villages of origin, prior to the 2013 parlia- mentary election. It was thus Shey Jones Yembe who not only 'dragged' them into the CPDM but empowered both financially, materially and morally. Details are still sketchy but reports have it that at the 2013 legislative election, where Hon Ngala Gerard and Hon Mbongyor Naomi Nfor ran and lost, Shey Jones Yembe alone did not spend less than 100 million FCFA on their campaigns, says The Guardian Post. It was also thanks to Shey Jones Yembe alone, that the CPDM, in 2013, won the Nkambe council, which it retained on February 9, 2020. Sources within the CPDM in Donga Mantung have told this reporter that it is Shey Jones Yembe, more than twenty years after leaving government, who has almost single handedly been bankrolling the ruling party activities in Ndu and Nkambe subdivisions. Analysts are unanimous that Shey Jones Yembe, is the real hidden drummer behind the peace that has been reigning especially in Nkambe subdivision, since the Anglophone crisis erupted in 2016. It should be recalled that Nkambe is the only divisional headquarter in the entire North West and South West regions, that has never witnessed a single day of ghost town since the crisis started. Schools and business activities have since been going on unperturbed while all national days are celebrated there even more than in some Francophone towns. "The fact that Shey Jones Yembe, noted for his being publicity-shy and political maturity, he does not mount rooftops to sing his praises, does not mean that the powers that be is not aware that it is thanks to him that Nkambe subdivision has remained peaceful, schools and business activities going on unperturbed, since the eruption of the Anglophone crisis in 2016. It pains me when, out of sheer excitement, political amateurism and inordinate ambition, someone always rushes either to the traditional media or the social media to masquerade as the reason behind why the people of Donga Mantung have turned their backs against those preaching secession, ” a prominent Beti CPDM elite is quoted to have told The Guardian Post newspaper reporter. Accordingly, the lone English language daily in it's Monday 28th December edition revealed that unlike some power-drunk Donga Mantung CPDM elite who must take along television cameras and mount the soapbox to blow their trumpet each time they visit the division to offer assistance to the needy population, Shey Jones Yembe has been quietly supporting and encouraging parents throughout Donga Mantung division to send their children back to school.
He is also credited for playing an unpublicised role in getting hundreds of youths in Ndu and Nwa subdivisions who had joined the Amba fighters to drop arms and engage in gainful activities which he is sponsoring.

Tribute to Mr. Afombo Vincent Fonguh

Not only was Afombo Vincent Fungoh one of the greatest teacher, school administrator and politician of our time, but he was truly a passionate man. He was just as dedicated to his family as his career, and as his party comrade Lon Ernest so beautifully exemplifies in another touching memoriam. From Santa to Nwa, Ako, Misaje and Nkambe, everyone has a touching story to tell about this my friend, Afoumbo Vincent. A man we fondly called ourselves " The Man you are hear of". Though some of you reading my tribute may not know him during his life time, be informed that his passion for youth empowerment and devotion to making the world a more beautiful place where everyone can experience the best in life. He was such remarkable human being and rare teacher who would spare no efforts to pay fees for children. Many are those who have benefited from his largess. Afombo Vincent was known for his wonderful sense of humor, quick smile and laugh, graciousness, and dedication to serving God.
Among his friends, colleagues, former students, and many others, there was deep shock at his unexpected death. It just did not (and does not) seem right that one who epitomized hopes in many students should be taken from us all at such a relatively young age. Afoumboh was one who truly loved life, cherished all that life had to offer, and lived life to its fullest as a devoted Christian. Some of us who had the great pleasure of being among his friends will continue to miss him. Mr. Afombo was a teaching teacher before he became Principal of GSS Berabe, GBHS Misaje, GBHS Santa etc. He was holder of a First Degree and DIPES II in History before obtaining Masters Degree in Political Sciences. As political Scientist, Mr Fonguh became very vibrant politician when he joined Presby in Nwa. He suddenly became the political strategist for the ruling CPDM in Donga Mantung Division. The story of the group of the CPDM in Donga Mantung can't be told without mentioning his name. When Afombo moved to Ako, he played a very important role for Dr. Fuh Calistus to change the political landscape in the Ako/Misaje Special Constituency. Lon Ernest who was Charger de Mission by term confirms that "as a matter of facts, the story of the growth and Dominion of the CPDM Party in the Donga Mantung IV Section of the CPDM in Misaje since 2007 can never be told in earnest without the mention of the name Afombou Vincent Fonguh. Infact,  Misaje was Mr. Afombou's second home. His demise is not only a great lost to his immediate family but also to the Misaje Section of the CPDM".
Mr. Afombo takes the journey of no return today, December 10, 2020 but his achievements will remain with us for centuries. His story will be read and told by generations. He was a Great man, very humble person, down to earth and rich in expidients. Afombo inspired many, pushed many, supported many and helped many to grow. That growth won't disappear - humanity will live to remember him for trappings.
Rest in Peace Afombo The Great
