Senatorial Challenges: SDF Campaign Manager Arrested

 Ndi Cherrylane M
SDF Shadow Cabinet Minister for Information and Media has issued a communiqué in which he decried that arrest and detention of SDF Senatorial campaign manager for Dja and Lobo in the South Region. Accordingly Jean Robert Wafo highlighted in his declaration letter that on Saturday, April 5, 2013 Ni John Fru Ndi campaign manager in the South was arrested by elements of the gendarmerie at the moment he was campaigning for the SDF list. It is alleged that he was taken forcibly taken off by gendarmes in Sangmelima where he has been in detention for the past for 04 days for reasons hitherto unknown.  Even though it is alleged his arrest is not linked to political issues, sources say the SDF local officials say it is politically motivated. The Eye gathered that local party officials are calling for his immediate release and that if it is not done, (they) SDF militants will go to the street to pressurize for his release.  It is also alleged that “Mr. Press” had penetrated CPDM councilors and that CPDM bigwigs in Dja and Lobo masterminded his arrest.  More so, sources say he was arrest on a Saturday which is in violation of the New Criminal Procedure Code. Human rights activists have decried that this is also serious human rights abuse and that it exposes the barbaric method used by political elite(s) to torture opponents.
Sources at the SDF national secretariat have decried that a similar incident took place at Bafia last Friday. It is said militants of the SDF were arrested when the senatorial candidate gathered some councilors and was passing his message. Elements of the police it is alleged stormed that area and disrupted the meeting, threatening to arrest anyone that resisted.

Manager of Dan Batouri FM Resigns as Radio Goes Incomatos

Who wants to kill Dan Batouri FM?
 By Fai Cassian Ndi
The manager of Dan Batouri FM, Haruna Mohammadou has tabled a letter of resignation to the chairman of that local radio outfit. Haruna Mohammadou who tabled his letter of resignation on April 8, 2013 expressed gratitude to the Board Chairman for giving trust and confidence to oversee the smooth running of the local radio but regretted that his task as manager had a lot of interferences with some members of the board. In his resignation letter, Haruna Mohammadou said he has decided to quit because as manager, he “had a lot of difficulties understanding whether the radio is managed by the BOD, Dr. Michael Kimbi (who claims proprietorship) and or Alhadji Borno”. Arguing that from the onset he thought that these two personalities will help them to grow but later discovered “they turn to pull us down”. He lamented that it is rather unfortunate that people who should lead youths have decided to go the other way round. When contacted, Haruna Mohammadou told this reporter that he decided to quit due to some of these reason yet assured he still holding back some reasons “which I may likely address in a different forum” he told this reporter. “I cannot continue to say I am the manager of a radio station when the transmitter is moved to a different location without me being aware. It is ridiculous that persons have decided to do what pleases them without the knowledge of the Board” he said. The Eye gathered that the transmitter of Radio Dan Batouri was transferred to Ndu to create another radio. According to information gathered even Board members of the radio were not informed. A Board member who preferred not to be named for political reasons is reported aghast with the act. Many listeners of Dan Batouri including this reporter are questioning whether it was necessary for the radio to disappear from the air weaves like was the case because someone desperately needed a radio station. Yet, allegations are rife at that Dr. Nick Ngwanyam, Mafor Achidi Achu Judith and Tamfu Simon contributed funds for the acquisition of equipment for a radio station in Ndu, but doubts are emitted as the transmitter could not resist when tested. “Should Dan Batouri Nkambe goes incomatos for the new station in Ndu to go on air?  It is alleged that the transmitter has been handed to a shop-keeper in Nkambe for a token of 50.000 FCFA and that upon collection for onward transportation to Ndu, a sum of 180.000 FCFA should be disbursed on the spot. Yet public opinion is wondering as to whether the 1.2 million FCFA contributed by three elite(s) of Ndu reached it final destination. In fact many have started doubting whether the radio station will operate with all these controversies.

Senatorial Challenges: The Biya- Fru Ndi Secret Deal Uncovered

 By Fai Cassian Ndi
Paul and John concerting on the future of Cameroon
Before SDF militants throw away the idea of matchets to the dogs, it is no longer new that Ni John Fru Ndi’s interest must have been protected. That Ni John Fru Ndi, the National chairman of the Social Democratic Front-SDF sealed a secret deal with the ruling CPDM is no more news. Yet the deal has never been made public until the CPDM list in the West Region and Adamawa regions were rejected before the real insight of the deal started revealing itself.
It is on record that CPDM bigwigs of the West Region have started campaigning for SDF list since last weekend and the questions as to whether the vast majority of legal experts of the nation being of that party, the Central Committee couldn’t have been so ignorant as to be unable to constitute a file in conformity with the law has come to null. That the mistakes errors committed out of good fate for the SDF lists to excel is what political analysts say is part of the hidden truth.  Informed opinion therefore holds that the present state of affairs is owing to the deal between the SDF and the CPDM. So then is the strong suggestion that CPDM and SDF did strike a secret deal for the ruling party to sacrifice the Northwest and the West Regions to the SDF. In the former region, there is virtual parity between the two parties. In the latter, CDU has some four councils only out of forty or more. Consequently is it no match to SDF. Even the possibility of sharing is far too remote. That leaves SDF with at least 10 seats. More so, allegations are also rife that Paul Biya will appoint 6 SDF militants into the senate.
A similar secret deal appears to have been sealed between CPDM and UNDP whereby the former is not contesting senatorial election in the Adamaoua Region. Like the SDF, UNDP may end up with 10 seats minimum from the Adamaoua and the North Regions. At the end of it all, Only CDU will come worse off even if as hinted that 50.1% will not be considered as absolute majority. This is true as all CPDM mayors of the West region recently issued a motion of support to President Paul Biya despite the fact that the list for that region was disqualified.
Sources say Jean Kwete maybe appointed President of the Senate while Hamadjoda Hadjodi would be his vice. According to the hinted that both Jean Kwete and Hamadjodi will be compensated with appointments into the senate and later catapulted to the helm. It is alleged that the name Akwafo Bernadette Djeudo for planted on the CPDM list from the West at the Central Committee and that the Secretary General was aware. That is why her certificate of non-conviction was issued by the police and not the court. Even the police we gathered are aware that they do not issue certificates of non-convictions. There is even the case of Gonsu Fotsin whose candidature was not legalized and submitted in three copies.
In Adamawa for example, the list is being rejected because an alternate was unable to produce the receipt that he had registered in the electoral list. Ngoba Jacque and Bakary Etienne were faulted and that is how the list of Adamawa was rejected.
According a classified source at the Central Committee of the CPDM, a similar scenario was to happen to the list from the North West given that two names of the lists were changed. Wallang Akwo David’s name became Assam David while Wanlo John was also changed to Nyako Julius. According to the hint the names were later rectified after the press shouted out loud on the planned errors.
According to what we gathered the prohibition of election results is not for nothing. Sources say the Supreme Court will timeline the results as such that only 60.1% will be considered as absolute majority. According to what we gathered this decision will only be made public by the Supreme Court when the moment comes. Highly classified sources also confirmed to The Eye that the strategy is such that none of the four political participating in the elections must pick a seat. Should 60.1% be validated as absolute majority then the CPDM and the SDF will share the seats in the Northwest Region given the narrow difference of voters. Fru Ndi and Achidi Achu would both be senators. With Fru Ndi demonstrating a lot of hopes as he did in Ndu where he told the population that he was coming for their final blessings into the senate, there is no doubt that the deal between Fru Ndi and President Biya envoy (Belinga Eboutou) has paid him off.  It is even alleged that when Yang Philemon summoned candidates to strategize in Bamenda before campaigns, Achidi Achu came 10 minutes to the end of the meeting. This is so because Achidi Achu we gathered is aware of the deal.

Political Elite of the West Aghast: Here below is a release by Hilaire Kamga (in French)

Demande au Conseil National de Communication, qui joue déjà bien son rôle de gendarme de la communication, de veiller à ce que cette violation des règles de campagne électorale soit sanctionnée ;
Appelle les conseillers municipaux de l’Ouest à voter selon leur conscience et sans influence extérieure tant qu’ils n’ont pas été édifiés sur les dessous des négociations politiques conclues entre le RDPC et le SDF dans leurs dos,
Demande au président national du RDPC d’adresser des excuses au parti politique ainsi offensé par son parti pendant la campagne des Sénatoriales ;

ENAM Director Puts Prime Minister Yang at Loggerhead with Assembly Speaker Hon. Cavaye

PM Yang & Hon. Cavaye Djibril
 The National School of Administration and Magistracy commonly known by its French acronym as ENAM which for years has never recruited based on merit may see the light of the day thanks to the corrupt-free Prime Minister Philemon Yang. Even though criticized for being too strict, PM Yang it is alleged recently brought down the baobab tree of corruption at ENAM. The Eye gathered from a confidential source at ENAM that Prime Minister Philemon Yang dared the odds to take the bull by the horns by asking that some six relatives of House Speaker who entered into the school through the widows be shown the door out. Allegations are rife at that Prime Minister Philemon Yang ordered the dismissal of six with immediate effect after he received complaints about the issue. Sources say for fear of the political blow that may land on his forehead, on Friday, April 5, the director, Toussaint Mendzana, told the students that he was acting on strict instructions from the prime minister, meaning that the decision to expel them was taken by the Prime Minister because they did not come in through the right door. “Go back and come in through the right door like the others”. He is quoted to have told them.
 The PM reportedly ordered ENAM’s director to eject the students after they have been schooling there for over four months. “Tell them to go and wait for the entrance and come in through the official means.” PM Yang instructed the director. It is alleged that the six students didn’t participate in the entrance examination but yet their names forcefully registered. If ENAM today is tagged as a place that empowers professional embezzlers, it is because majority of those who are trained use obnoxious means to enter. They learn corrupt practices from way admissions are administered and that is why upon graduation majority transform selves into white-collar gangster. Once again, Philemon Yang is being celebrated for his uprightness even though sources say when House Speaker Hon. Cavaye Yeguie is murmuring that it is the work of his detractors. Sources say some Northerners may be victimized because it is alleged they were the ones that wrote a petition to the Prime ministry exposing the scandal.
