At Joint Section Conference, CPDM Militants of Nwa Plead for the Creation of Mantung Division

Hon. Mbucksek and Dr. Ngomfe hand in hand

Militants and sympathizers of the CPDM of Donga Mantung V Section (Nwa) in the North West region have issued a motion of support calling on President Paul Biya’s candidacy in the forthcoming Presidential elections. The call was made during a Joint Section Conference that took place on August 6, 2016 in Ngom (Sabongari). In the motion, Donga Mantung V Nwa (Section of the CPDM) also moved their total and unflinching support to His Excellency President Paul Biya, the National Chairman of the CPDM party, head of state, President of the Republic and the institutions that he incarnates. Militants also reviewed with satisfaction the resounding victory being recorded by the Defense Forces in the on-going war against the devilish terrorist sect Boko Haram. They declared the CPDM as the bedrock of national cohesion at the service of an emerging Cameroon, thus declared their loyalty and indefinable support to President Biya.
Matters Arising
Welcoming delegates, militants, sympathizers and invitees to Ngom known as Sabongari town, the Section President of Donga Mantung V, Hon. Genesis Mbucksek said he is overwhelmed by the massive turnout which is indicative of their determined efforts quest for the development of the enclaved subdivision that shares a very long boundary with the Taraba State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (140 km). he said to have braved the steep rocky hills, deep valleys with fast running streams and rivers from Adere to Mbat, from Mbepji to Lus, from Jui to Kwaja, from Sih to Saam, from Yang to Nkot, from Nwa to Lih, from Shie to Wajiri, etc and other distant villages in the Mbaw plain is enough testimony of the loyalty for President Paul Biya. The CPDM, he said is growing from strength to strength and that they are not prepared to mortgage the development of the Nwa in exchange for dreams. The come-together he emphasized, “should offer us the greatest opportunity for stock-taking, planning and for renewed stewardship to the desires, and aspirations of our great party”.  He warned against lip services, fractionalization as witnessed prior to the last re-organization exercise and reccommended reconciliation and harmony within the ranks of the militants. “Because your militancy is not supposed to be conditioned by the amount of money most of you, more often than not, often expect to receive from the party, nor should it be determined by the amount of money you give to the party. Quoting from Chiara Lubich’s idea in Ponder and Live better, Hon. Genesis Mbucksek outlined that “it takes a heart rich with love (for the CPDM) and hands wiling ti serve (the CPDM). You don’t need a large purse vomitting with bank notes to change the world; you need a large heart that can give out love in the epic proportions and can absorb the bullets of hate without reducing the flow of love among Comrades of the CPDM. (Indeed), the greatest kind of poverty that we need to combat (in the party) is poverty of character.
To Hon. Mbucksek, the CPDM in Nwa is sailing on a good ship to glory when judged from the results since 2007 and the achievements “whereas with the SDF and other opposition parties, you are riding a dead horse to underdevelopment”. He called on all the living forces in Nwa to join him in asking on President Paul Biya to accept another seven year mandate. However, the Section President lamented that most of the external elites who claim to be CPDM militants and on whom the Section should have normally relied for moral, material and financial support, rather come home to fan up divisions in the party. Militants also frowned at the fact that even during national celebrations like May 20th, some of these elites do not give a dime as support in the subdivision. They also observed that even some CPDM councilors do not toe party lines which contribute enormously in hampering party activities. Analyzing future challenges, delegates noted with satisfaction that the 20 Sub Sections that make up Donga Mantung V are very active and functional. They promised to produce a crushing win for the CPDM in the forthcoming elections of at least 70%.
Plea
Harping on government’s efforts to bring the administration to closer to the people, militants also prayed on government to consider raising Nwa Subdivision to a full Division called “Mantung Division” with headquarters in Nwa and the creation of new subdivisions at Nwa central, Ntong, Ngom and Kom-Mfumte. Created since 1963, Nwa sub Division, deserves and qualifies to be raised full division and should be treated with special attention, they pleaded. Harping on the militants observed that Nwa is ripe for a full divisional status, given its vastness, proximity with Nigeria and its high population estimated at more than 75,000 inhabitants yet decried that though a border subdivision, Nwa has not benefitted from any disenclavement programme. Militants also expressed the need for a mobile health unit in Nwa that can serve the population given the vastness of the area with only one medical district officer resident in Nwa.

Priest Accused of Corruption

Drama has occurred in an Anglican church, as members have threatened massive unrest if the bishop does not step down from his position.
The age-long crisis rocking the Sapele Anglican Diocese in Delta State on Friday assumed a frightening dimension as members of the church insisted on the removal of Bishop Blessing Erifeta.
Last weekend, soldiers attached to the pipeline facilities in Sapele were alleged to have injured some protesting women and youths of the church, calling on Erifeta to step down on the ground of alleged corruption, maladministration and high-handedness.
Two women said to have been injured by the JTF were reported to have been in a critical state of health at the Sapele Central Hospital.
But in a swift reaction, the JTF Commander in the area, Lt. Mohammed Idris, said the allegation of injuring the protesters was untrue, adding that they moved into the scene to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, on Friday, protesters were seen carrying placards on the premises of Saint John Anglican Church.
Some members of the diocese who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said the quarrel with Bishop Eriefeta was informed by his alleged high-handedness and corrupt practices, insisting that unless he steps aside peace might not reign.
Mr. Smart Umukoro and Chief Unukegwo Onome, who also spoke to our correspondent, said the protest would not stop until the Bishop is removed or transferred to other area by the Primate, adding that they were ready to forcefully throw him out.
Ereifeta described the allegations against him as untrue, stating that the protesters were doing that based on political and selfish interests.

Remember Fela Anikulapo Kuti 19 Years after: What You Need to Know About Him

If you are a Nigerian, then you must have heard of the name Fela Anikulapo Kuti, but how much do you know about the man behind the name.

Fela Anikulapo Kuti

Today, August 2, marks exactly 19 years since the demise of Africa’s Afrobeat pioneer, social maverick, and pan-Africanist Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti also known as Abami Eda.

Below are 27 things you probably didn’t know about him:

1. Fela was born Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti on 15 October 1938 inAbeokuta, Ogun State,

2. His mother, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, was a feminist activist in the anti-colonial movement

3. His father, Reverend Israel Oludotun Ransome-Kuti, an Anglican minister, and school principal was the first president of the Nigeria Union of Teachers.

4. Fela is a first cousin to the Nigerian writer and Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, the first African to win the Nobel Prize for Literature.

5. He was arrested 200 times and endured numerous beatings, but continued to write political lyrics, producing albums before he died on August 2, 1997, in Lagos.

6. He attended the Abeokuta Grammar School in Abeokuta and later he was sent to London in 1958 to study medicine but decided to study music instead at the Trinity College of Music.

7. The trumpet was his preferred instrument

8. Fela married his first wife, Remilekun Taylor, with whom he had three children (Femi, Yeni, and Sola).

9. In 1963, Fela moved back to Nigeria and trained as a radio producer for the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation.

10. In 1967, he went to Ghana to think up a new musical direction

11. He first called his music Afrobeat In 1969.

12. He then formed the Kalakuta Republic, a commune, a recording studio, and a home for the many people connected to the band that he later declared independent from the Nigerian state.

13. Fela set up a nightclub in the Empire Hotel, first named the Afro-Spot and then the Afrika Shrine, where he both performed regularly and officiated at personalized Yoruba traditional ceremonies in honour of his nation’s ancestral faith.

14. He changed his middle name to Anikulapo (meaning “He who carries death in his pouch”, with the interpretation: “I will be the master of my own destiny and will decide when it is time for death to take me”).

15. He said that his original middle name of Ransome was a slave name.

16. He made the decision to sing in Pidgin English so that his music could be enjoyed by individuals all over Africa, where the local languages were spoken are very diverse and numerous.

17. In 1977, Fela and the Afrika ’70 released the album Zombie, a scathing attack on Nigerian soldiers using the zombie metaphor to describe the methods of the Nigerian military. The album was a smash hit and infuriated the government, setting off a vicious attack against the Kalakuta Republic, during which one thousand soldiers attacked the commune. Fela was severely beaten, and his elderly mother (whose house was located opposite the commune) was thrown from a window, causing fatal injuries.

18. Fela’s response to the attack was to deliver his mother’s coffin to the Dodan Barracks in Lagos, General Olusegun Obasanjo’s residence, and to write two songs, “Coffin for Head of State” and “Unknown Soldier”,

19. Fela and his band then took residence in Crossroads Hotel, as the Shrine had been destroyed along with his commune.

20. In 1978, Fela married 27 women, many of whom were his dancers, composers, and singers to mark the anniversary of the attack on the Kalakuta Republic.

21. Fela did not perform songs again after he had already recorded them

22. In 1979, he put himself forward for President in Nigeria’s first elections for more than a decade, but his candidature was refused.

23. In 1984, Muhammadu Buhari’s government, of which Kuti was a vocal opponent, jailed him on a charge of currency smuggling which Amnesty International and others denounced as politically motivated

24. Amnesty International designated him a prisoner of conscience and his case was also taken up by other human rights groups.

25. He was released from prison by General Ibrahim Babangida after 20 months,

26. On his release he divorced his 12 remaining wives, saying that “marriage brings jealousy and selfishness”

27. In 1989, Fela and Egypt ’80 released the anti-apartheid Beasts of No Nation that depicts on its cover U.S. President Ronald Reagan, UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and South African State President Pieter Willem Botha,

Catholic Church About to Have Female Deacons? Pope Francis Set to Explore Women Joining the Clergy

It seems that the Catholic Church is set to have female deacons? Pope Francis has appointed a 13-member historic commission to study the the role of female deacons.
Pope Francis

According to an exclusive report on Dailymail, a 13-member special commission made up of seven men and six women, have been appointed by Pope Francis to examine the role of female deacons in the Church, in a potentially historic opening on the possibility of women joining the clergy.
The Vatican said in a statement on Tuesday that the commission will study the question of female deacons with a particular focus on the history of women having played this role in the early years of the Church.
Report revealed that the move follows a pledge made by Francis in May during a question-and-answer session with members of female religious orders.
Advocates of women serving as deacons have long argued that they are pitifully under-represented in the Church's hierarchy and decision-making processes. So allowing women to enter the clergy at a rank just below a priest would represent a first step towards correcting this imbalance, they argue.
They also insist there is no theological obstacle to the move because of the precedent established by women performing the role in the early centuries of Christianity.
The Vatican did not set a date for the commission to begin work or a deadline for it to reach conclusions.

NOWEFU New Constitution Creates Post of General Assembly President

The famous clause that sparked controversy
Speculations as to whether North West Governor Adolph Lele Lafrique will endorse NOWEFU new constitution abounds high. This is so because it is aired that the new constitution has been completed yet the post of General Assembly President has been inserted. According to what we gathered the General Assembly President has been allocated sweeping powers such as to check the excesses of NOWEFU President General and oversees policies. The crux of the matter is that the revised constitution of NOWEFU was rejected by North West Governor because the post of Honorary President General was inserted. Given that the honorary President was given sweeping powers and that he should be someone (who should is a member of government or anyone ranking as such). The question now is whether the new Constitution which has been drafted again will be rejected for the reasons. If it is accepted, expectations are high that NOWEFU will stage a 2 in 1 assembly (extra ordinary assembly to adopt the constitution and ordinary assembly to elect the President General and President of the General Assembly. The fon of Nkambe is expected to emerge as General President while Fon Senator Gahnyongha and Fon Teche have been tipped as General Assembly Presidents.
However, as the drama to twist NOWEFU constitution unfolds, tongues have been waging as to what happened to the revised 2005 edition of the constitution of union with which it was registered in 2006 (acknowledgment receipt No 00100/E.29/111/vol.8/APPB remains another misery that only the Kaduna mafia can tell. Yet when the leadership crisis resurfaced the Mezam SDO's office was in difficulties because it appeared NOWEFU had three different constitutions at the level of the administration. To cut the matter short, Fon Chafah took the matter to court, and in suit No HCMB/13/2015, the High Court of Mezam ruled that: the Senior Divisional Officer of Mezam who is even the Supervisory authority of the Union, call a general assembly of all the members to regularize the issue of their constitution and thereafter hand over to the new executive that shall be elected therefrom. The Nkambe elective General assembly was then convened based on that court ruling. The argument that elections were carried forward because Donga Mantung fons are not united is not tenable at all. Donga Mantung has helped in revealing the practices of the one-time Kaduna mafia that used to decide on who should be elected as President of NOWEFU. In article 1 of the Internal rules and regulations defining the duties and functions of the various officers of the union states that: The Honorary President General
* Shall be the laison person between the union and the administration of the Republic
*Shall work closely with the executive Bureau of the Union
* Shall be a member of Government or assimilated as such
*Shall be a former Executive Bureau Member
* Shall be elected by the General Assembly.
Implicitly, only Fon Teche fulfills the third condition and wins to remain in power. What reason accounts for the creation of this position when during his own reign the post was not there? Will Donga Mantung accept this? Elite of Donga Mantung Division we gathered have vowed to unleash a can of worms of that post is not deleted. PM Yang sources say has summoned the outgoing executive to explain after the warning signals.
The Fon Chafah, Fon Teche Wahala
Despite being best friends through thick and thin since the creation of the North West Fons Union-NOWEFU, it is now clear that Fon Chafah of Bangolang and Fon Teche Njei of Ngyenmuwa have fallen out. It has finally emerged that the duo (formerly ring leaders of the Kaduna mafia) as they used to call themselves have turned their backs. This was confirmed by a release issued recently by Fon Chafah rubbishing his former ally (Fon Teche). What is however intriguing is that these former ring leaders of the Kaduna mafia tacitly claim ownership over NOWEFU. At the beginning, Fon Chafah fired an unguided missile towards Fon Teche. In a letter to former Mezam SDO Nguele Nguele Felix, which several quarters were copied titled “Truth and Facts which may be bitter but necessary for posterity” (he) Fon Chafah outline the following points against his former friend:
*“Senator Fon Teche Njei has never convened a single General Assembly or Executive meeting of NOWEFU since his election in 2012, thereby leading the association single handedly with demagogy, manipulation, division and misinformation. He has even summarily put aside his Secretary General, Fon Ndofoa Zofoa of Babungo.
*Being the first Third Class Fon with a very tiny population to head NOWEFU, he has systematically excluded all the First Class Fons and Second Class prominent of the region from the affairs of the association, so as to continuously manipulate a few fons who run after him.
*Clandestine trips to Yaounde to harass state officials for pecuniary gains and self aggrandizement are frequent under his leadership, thereby putting the once respected Fons of the region to ridicule and disgrace.
*A grand fundraising was organized by him soon after his election to complete a multi-purpose secretariat complex of NOWEFU built up to 80% under my presidency, no work has been done and no account rendered of the ten million FCFA collected for that purpose. In fact reliably sources hold that huge sums of money were collected by him and pocketed from prominent state personalities amongst which are the Secretary General and Assistant Secretary General at the Presidency, and the delegate general of the National Security.
*Politics being a game of numbers and results, it is on record that he has never won any election for the ruling CPDM where he is Senator and Central Committee member through appointment. His Batibo Constituency has been in the hands of the opposition since the inception of multi-party politics. His colleague in the senate, Fon Doh Gayonga of Bali proudly has his Bali council under the control of the CPDM. I equally proudly have all the two (2) parliamentary seats, the Senatorial seat and all the three councils in my Ngoketunjia constituency under the CPDM. That is what we call support for President Paul Biya, National Chairman of the ruling party and not empty noise and demagogy. CPDM is the winning party in my Fondom Bangolan.
In light of foregoing sir, I retreat you to take this moment of truth in good faith and to support us to re-establish legality of NOWEFU.
With the expiration of Fon Teche’s mandate on the 16th of March 2015, he no longer has the locus standi to act on behalf of NOWEFU and any attempt by him to convene any meeting to modify our constitution shall be considered as null and void. Any administrative authority or persons treating with him in that capacity are no longer doing so in the interest of the North West Fons. The Advisory Council of NOWEFU shall be meeting very soon to chart a way forward for the association with a view to putting in place a transitional committee to organize elections for a new President General from any of the two gaining divisions”.
Fon Chafah also revealed that NOWEFU is a legal structure and was duly registered by the then Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam, Jules Marcelin Djaga. Fon Chafah Issac finds faults with Mezam Administration for asking Fon Teche to organize a general assembly to adopt a new constitution for NOWEFU, even though former Mezam SDO Nguele Nguele is said to have been wondering why NOWEFU had three different constitutions.

Atiku Speaks on 'New Party' & Alleged Plan to Contest Presidency with Gov. Mimiko as Running Mate

Nigeria's former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has dismissed reports alleging that he has formed a new political party on which he will run for president in 2019.
Atiku Abubakar
In a statement signed by Paul Ibe, the Media Adviser to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed reports alleging that he has formed a new political platform on which he will run for president in 2019 with the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, as his running mate.
The influential politician said the report bore the features of a political hatchet job planted by his opponents who were desperately trying to invent events in order to draw a wedge between him and President Muhammadu Buhari on the one hand and the leadership of the APC on the other hand.
"The report was an incompetent product of fiction, so shallow and vacuous that even its authors could not validate its credibility with reliable and verifiable sources.
“Some people of bad faith trying tooth and nail to spread the seeds of discord in the party, and destroy the much needed unity, harmony and cohesion, which are the pillars of strength for every political organisation,” Ibe stated.
Ibe said despite all the smear campaigns and reputation lynching and sponsored falsehoods, Atiku’s loyalty to President Buhari and the APC leadership would not be shaken an inch.
“Atiku Abubakar would ordinarily have ignored the malicious report, but says he chose to react, lest his silence would be mistaken as an admission of the falsehoods published against him”, he added.

Must Read: 5 Prayers for Money and Financial Freedom with Bible Scriptures to Up Your Faith

Is money spiritual and worthy enough to pray for? Learn what the Bible says about it and how you can pray for financial stability, employment and prosperity.

1. Pray for your daily needs.
Jesus in His famous prayer said: “Give us this day our daily bread.” (Matthew 6:11)
At the end of the same chapter He continues: “For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:32-33)
And He actually promises to provide us with what we need for life. So, you can use these Scriptures to build up your faith and come to the Lord in prayer for the money to meet your daily needs.

2. Pray for prosperity.
Prosperity is when you have more than enough. Having enough is good. Your needs are met and you can live. But prosperity is better. God is the God of abundance. It’s His nature. He gives abundantly:
“And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers…” (Deuteronomy 30:9)
Take Him as your source, follow His Word and prosper!

3. Pray to break the debt.
Debt is the curse. You cannot be happy and free, when you know you owe something. That’s not the will of God for His children. You can use this Scripture to pray: “For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee." (Deuteronomy 15:6)
However, along with it pray for wisdom, because most of the times we are the ones to blame for foolish behavior. We get ourselves into debt through our lusts.

4. Pray for growth.
You can go from glory to glory even in your finances. So, pray to the Lord to give you knowledge and wisdom: “For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.” (Proverbs 8:11)
The best investment is made inside. You grow and your abilities to earn and prosper increase, too.

5. Pray for supernatural provisions.
They say: “Where God guides, He provides!” And that is true. At times we need much more than we can do or have on our own to fulfill the will of God. He opens the doors and provides for us supernaturally to do the impossible.
Jesus multiplied the loaves of bread and fish to feed 5000 people. He has more than enough for those who seek, ask and get ready to do His will.

SDF Kick-starts President Gbagbo Immediate Release Petition

The National Executive Committee of the Social Democratic Front-SDF met in Bamenda last weekend and during the meeting one of the key points on the agenda was the launching of over 20.000 signatures for the immediate release of Laurent Gbagbo.  In his preliminary remarks SDF Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi said that the petition is not to change power in Cote d’Ivoire but it is intended to establish the truth about what happened before Laurent Gbagbo was kidnapped. According to Ni John Fru Ndi, the petition is only about the liberation of President Laurent Gbagbo “because in the absence of the responsible actors of Cote d’Ivoire’s crisis, any decision taken at the Hague will be void of any legality.
Fru Ndi added that “today is a very important day because we are launching a petition in Cameroon which we sincerely hope will obtain the adherence without fear nor shame of a vast majority of people in Cameroon from all ranks and file and across the political spectrum, to call for the immediate release of President Laurent Gbagbo, from the unjust, and unsuitable situation in which a few known impostors of the legitimacy of the International community have placed him.
He continued that the international community cannot be shaped into the wish of neo-imperialism and cannot continuously, in the 21st century cannot be subject to wishful justice. To Ni John Fru Ndi, the petitions will true justice a chance.

Biya's Laptop Bait – PAP Reacts

* The monetary equivalent of Biya's 500,000 mini laptop computers could provide at least 6,000 jobs with a salary of 100,000 Frs per month for the next ten years!

The Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo signed communiqué No. 16.000/MINESUP/CAB/nn on July 26, 2016 explaining Biya’s regime’s “Plan Special Jeunes”. China’s Sichuan Telecom Construction Engineering Co. Ltd has been contracted to supply 500,000 pieces of mini computers to university students. This will gulp down 75 Billion Francs of borrowed money from China’s EXIM Bank.

PAP, amongst other issues, pick the following:

• PAP notes that the government failed to inform the Cameroonian people of the interest rates of this loan that the country shall incur within this ten year period. We ask that such figures be made known immediately;

• Such venture is very bad investment and a complete waste of resources.
Muchas computers are vital for research and other academic course work, PAP believe that, this does not beat urgent priority projects on Cameroon’s development totem pole such as fighting the scourge of unemployment, provision of potable drinking water to every household, mechanise agricultural practices, putting meaning to the words, ‘free primary education’ etc. Let us randomly consider the issue of combating unemployment.
75 Billions can do a lot! Go also, to our state budget line by line and cut back on fuel, so-called out-station allowances and other reckless spending such as entertainment. Put all of these together and create factories across the country that would finish our raw materials … create a name for the country as a manufacturing hub in the region.
And by the way, in case this embarrassment of a regime didn’t know, 75 Billions could provide six thousand jobs to youths with a monthly salary of 100,000 Frs for the next ten years.

• The bidding process to pick Sichuan Telecom Construction Engineering Co. Ltd is mired in mystery and constitutes a very bad deal for Cameroon.
At the press conference of Minister Jacques Fame Ndongo, he brandished a sample of the said computers. This shows that what the government intends to supply are only mini laptop computers. The Intelligence Unit of PAP National Strategic Team contacted seven major laptop manufacturers in China’s leading manufacturing city of Shenzhen namely Shenzhen Yu Chuang Xing Ye Technology Co., Ltd; Shenzhen Yongjing Digital Limited Company; Shenzhen Sanwo Digital Technology Co., Ltd; Shenzhen Yyhong Technology Co., Limited; Shenzhen Sayirin Technology Co., Limited; Shenzhen Hisent Science & Technology Co., Ltd and Shenzhen BOCOOR Technology Com Ltd and requested for Pro forma Invoices (PI) for the highest grade quality of 500,000 mini laptop computers with each having a warranty of 2 years. Lo and behold, the prices ranged from 52 dollars (29,350 Frs) to 79 dollars (46,373 Frs) per piece [Current exchange rate is [1 USD = 587 XAF].
A mean of the best prices these factories accept to provide is 65.5 dollars (38,448.5 Frs). Now, if government is buying 500,000 mini laptop computers for a whopping 150,000 Frs per piece, it is either a very bad deal or some ministers have added mouth-watery commissions – four times greater than the actual cost – a scenario capable of ‘under-developing’ the Cameroonian people.

• It is a bait president Biya is using to impress upon the youths as elections draw to a close.
Biya’s so-called “Special Plan for the Youths” is a mockery to the young people of Cameroon. PAP believes that it is the youths who ought to be the actual commanders of their destiny and not some octogenarian who is tired, unproductive and lazy!
The youths must remember that as per the research carried out by the School of Gerontology, Southern California University in 2011, cognitive ability depreciates with age. That explains why, in 1981, the IMF reported Cameroon’s economic growth rate stood at some 12.25%. The minds presiding over the country at the time were young, vibrant and energetic.
Joseph Owona became director of the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) in 1976, "when he was all of thirty-one years old" (Martin Mayer, The Diplomats, p. 162); Bello Bouba Maigari became Paul Biya’s Prime Minister in 1982 at 35; Dorothy Njeuma, who until a few years ago was still the Rector of the University of Yaounde (I) became Vice Minister of Education in 1975 when she was 32 years old; Nzo Ekangaki was 28 years old when he became Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1962, and 38 when he was elected Secretary General of the Organization of African Unity (OAU); Paul Bamela Engo, currently a judge at the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea, was 33 years old when he became a Minister Counselor at the Cameroon Embassy in Bonn, Germany in 1964 and 38 when he was elevated to the rank of a Minister Plenipotentiary in 1969, Kamdem Niyim became Minister of Health in 1964 at the age of 23, etc., etc.
Fast forward to 2004 when our economic growth rate plummeted to 4.2%. Those governing? Tired, lazy, unproductive gerontocracy!
These old men cannot pretend to be designing a future for us they won’t live to see.
And as the PAP Chieftain, Ayah Paul Abine always puts it to the youths, "the red sea may not part in our days. We need a bridge to cross to the other side ... that bridge is PAP"
PAP strongly advise the youths to guard against such game of hoodwink by the Biya regime at the wake of elections.

AKOSON A. Raymond
PAP Secretary General

Open Letter to Bamenda Elite(s)

 By Mishe Fon

We , people of Bamenda extraction ought to be ashamed of our selves. Let us put our usual "Politics" aside for a few seconds and face our hard realities. Make we put Biya and Ndumu out of this langua bicos since becoming President some THIRTY something years ago, he has visited Bamenda THREE times (when he created the CPDM in 1982, then during the "I Do So Swear, I will build and supervise the Ring Road myself" four years later and eventually 25 years later during the so-called 50th anniversary of reunification). This historical data simply to highlight the fact that Bamenda has never and will never be at the top or bottom of their priorities.
Now, we Bamenda people have been screwed to the point of complacency and have stood by watching as the city slides into abject disgraceful squalor. At what point does an abused housewife say enough is enough? Where are the Political CPDM strange bed fellows, Intellectual and Business elites of Bamenda? I am talking about all those Big Time multi-millionaire Civil Engineering Contractors like (BUNS, TANO, JOE-CONERWATA, Ngwa, Babila etc; Heavy weight Architects like Fobi, Che, Mutah, Bongwa, Awudanga and many more. Are they not as outraged as you and I are at seeing the decrepit state Bamenda has been plunged into? Shall we just sit there like "moumous" and wait for a Government that will never and has no intention to work for its citizens? This is very un-Bamendrous.
In the United States alone out of the 29 to 32,000 Cameroonians (documented and undocumented, with or without US citizenship) about 12 thousand are from Bamenda. That is a fact. If only FIVE Thousand agreed to help their community (as they do on individual uncoordinated basis) by coming together in a pool and devote just two weeks of their "Pay Check" (at least $1000.00 per family) into a Credit Union Account; would it not jump start the process of revitalizing some infrastructural projects in that city? Do the math. That is a whooping 5 million dollars. Look at what alumni students are doing for their alma mata with their own small contributions.
Once again, look at the images of your beloved city and give your opinion.

Trouble in the Church? Primate Ayodele Blasts Adeboye, Oyedepo, Kumuyi

The Spiritual Leader of INRI Spiritual and Evangelical Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has condemned the killing of Christians cross the country.

Primate Elijah Ayodele
In an exclusive interview with DailyPost on Friday, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Spiritual Leader of INRI Spiritual and Evangelical Church, Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos, who condemned the killing of Christians cross the country, also took a swipe at those he called 'Big Pastors' for keeping quiet in the face of unabated attacks against the Church.
While lamenting the recent attack on Christians, Ayodele, said;
“They slit the throat of a woman preaching in Abuja; they beheaded a 74-year-old woman in Kano; they nearly killed another poor carpenter for not observing fast; they attacked a Church in the Niger for holding a service on Friday, and so on.
“Nigeria is getting to the edge; no more tolerance and we are moving on as if all is well. Last week, the Appeal Court ruled that hijab can be worn to schools. The Sultan came out and told Muslims that ‘if anybody does not want you to practise Islam, you can fight’.
“The fact that nobody has come out to say the Sultan did not say that means he was quoted correctly. Yet, I have not heard reactions from those who ought to have spoken. I am not scared of anybody, I will call names.
“People like (Enoch) Adeboye, (David) Oyedepo, (Folorunsho) Kumuyi, and other Big Pastors that people believe so much are holier than thou have kept quiet,” the cleric said.
While reciting instances of contentious religious issues in states, Primate Ayodele said: “Imagine what is happening in Osun State. The government said female Muslims students can wear hijab to school.
“Somebody came out to say, ‘okay, Christians too should wear white garment to school’. The governor criticised him and so-called Christian leaders came out to say the governor is right.
“Also, this man in Kaduna, (Nasir) El-Rufai says you must have license to preach or do public religious activities. Only one man has been shouting…Apostle Suleman. He has been the lone voice fighting against the government’s pronouncement. Other influential Pastors have not uttered a word.
“Nobody is ready to bell the cat. Maybe they are thinking that they will lose rich members or their connections in power”.
“Christians are being killed. People who should be talking are just there looking. If these killings lead to religious war, nobody will stay. This country is playing with disaster”.
Speaking on the way forward, Primate Ayodele advocated that all hands must be on deck to forestall religious crisis. “Even though I am still watching him, the new CAN president must take steps to put the plight of Christians at the fore front,” he charged.
“We must harmonize in this country. There must be equity and balance. We must respect each other’s religion. A man like me is tolerant. I have Muslims who come to my church that I assist. We should stop all these signs of extremism.
“There is an inter-religious boy in place. We should do more to ensure peace exists because that is the only way Nigeria can fully attain its potential.”
