Carrefour Njinsoh FC Wins Wimbum Trophy



There was euphoria and fanfare at the Nkambe Municipal Stadium where over 10.000 people gathered to witness the final of first edition of Wimbum Unity Cup and Cultural fiesta. At 1pm, the drum beats and sounds of the gongs echoed into the hills of Minduh and lowlands of Tabenken. People could be seen rushing into the stadium from all angles. 
The sound of vuvuzelas from the supporters of Baraki FC and fan club of  Carrefour Njinsoh FC of Nkambe was enough evidence that the football match was to produce fireworks. When at 3pm, the centre referee sounded his whistle, the stadium went wild like bush fire. Few minutes into the game, Carrefour Njinsoh FC scored the lone goal of the match to emerge winner of the Wimbum Football in the Nkambe pool. Carrefour Njinsoh crushed Baraki FC of Binshua 1#0 to carry the trophy. Yaouba, the goalkeeper of Bakari FC was voted Man of the Match for his sensational saves. Other players who distinguished themselves included Marvine alias Daddy the witches, while the youngest player of the tournament was Robin of Cosmos FC.


The finals took place today at the Nkambe Municipal stadium and was presided over by the Divisional Officer for Nkambe Mr. Aboukar. On the other hand, Bo Nyarr Female FC also whitewashed Kungi FC 1#0 to take the female trophy. 
Ndi Richard Tamnjong, chairman of the local organizing committee thanked the over 20 teams that participated. He said the qualifying teams will have to travel to Douala for the national finals this year.
