Paris Customs Officials Seizes 115 Live Scorpions Hidden in Shipment from Cameroon


A batch of 69 of the large, black creatures were discovered in boxes containing centipedes as French officials nab shipment from African country, Cameroun.
Customs officers at Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris are said to have seized 115 live scorpions hidden in two shipments which had come from Cameroon and were bound for the US, the Associated Press news agency reports.
A batch of 69 of the large, black creatures were discovered in boxes containing centipedes; the rest were in plastic cups.
Officials say they were being posted to an individual in the US who is known to sell scorpions and other protected species on the internet.
