Mbah Kynaston-Eric Motomu: Chronicle Newspaper Publisher (The Media Prophet) Who Saw Tomorrow Laid to Rest

A sea of humanity-from newspaper vendors to reporters, buyam-sellams to traders, commoners to political leaders, bike riders to vehicle owners, trade unionists to teachers, editors to publishers etc stormed Mile 90 Nsongwa (Bamenda) to pay homage to a renowned newspaper publisher who died on July 18, 2017.

The Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council, Vincent Nji Ndumu, the mayor of Santa council, Kan Elroy Moses, the mayor of Batibo council, Tajoh Friderick, CPDM political bureau member Madame Regina Mundi, the Publisher of The Guardian Post and lone English Language daily Ngah Kristian, the Director of CDVTA Njuakom Francis and a host of other dignitaries who were buried in the crowd of mourners descended down to pay their last respects to Mbah Kynaston-Eric Motomu, Publisher/Editor of Chronicle newspaper.
Both the readers of Chronicle newspaper, friends, and family friends, were weighed down sensitively when they took their seats in front of the casket in which the Eric's body was kept. Uncountable number of people, including quite a good number who came from far distances could not hold back tears.
Friday, August 4, 2017 will remain a memorable day for journalists of the North West Region. That was the day heaven loosened and descended on media practitioners as they all bit farewell to the man who was popularly known as DP. Eric Motomu was the lone media prophet in Cameroon.
Eric has an indelible place in the history of Cameroon journalism. Like French astrology Nostradamus–Michel de Nostradame, Eric was able to forecast cabinet shakeups, appointments, dismissals and they all came to past as he predicted.
He variously saw tomorrow at different times in his newspaper reports. This is remarkable, because 90% of the events that later unfolded proved Eric Motomu right. Eric Motomu was a prophetic journalist and one who would dare where others can never. Gwain Colbert rightly puts in his eulogy that “Motomu’s life can be said to have been drained away by those who persecuted the truth”.
Not only was he an absolute expert in his field, he was also approachable and quick to share tips and advice with young reporters who dreamed of being like him someday.
To the Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council, Eric’s loss is hard to bear, but Eric's contribution to journalism will live. To Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, the news of Eric’s sudden and dramatic passing away was devastating. Eric he wrote “was a vibrant and intelligent journalist. He was unique in his approach to journalism”.
Eric’s elder sister, Mrs Sama Edith sent tears running down the jaws of everyone went she gave a vivid account of his life from childhood to the final time he died. She said Eric’s demise will create a profound vacuum in the family. The President of North West Chapter of the Cameroon English Speaking Journalist Oba Rose, described Eric as a pillar in the profession and one of the best advisers in her team.
Dotta Akamancho Ezekiel, Publisher of the Watchdog Tribune who spoke on behalf of the publishers said that it is thanks to Eric that journalists are no more seen as beggars and it is Eric how set the pace for journalist to build houses.
One of the heartbreaking messages came from Tim Finian, Publisher/Editor of Life Time Newspaper from his prison cell in Kondegui. Tim wrote: Three weeks after, I would be jotting down some few words as a eulogy for you is uniquely painful experience you don’t wish your worst enemies. The gentleman I called “Partner in Crime” for 17 years had transitioned into eternity. That afternoon when Kelly called that “my man” was in bad shape, I gave a desperate ear more keenly. “The person who would have been taking care of me now on my sick bed is Tim, now that he is in prison. I am finished.…..Eric sincerely my brother, colleague and friend, fare thee well to where you now watch over us with glee of proof that your earthly mission is over.”

In every relationship there are important milestones to be reached. Here is a list of eight important moments that every couple should aim to reach in their relationship

1. First Declaration

The ultimate romantic moment in a relationship is the first time you say the three sacred words, I love you. It’s the defining moment. First declarations must always be celebrated with a suitable commemoration, since it’s the first sign that a couple really does rather like each other.

2. First Holiday

The first holiday. This can always be a little overwhelming, but is a test of whether the relationship is built to last. A poor holiday will only create bad feeling and lead to arguments, so it’s always important to look for something truly memorable that can be cherished.

3. Anniversary

An anniversary is always a special  moment in a relationship. It’s a day to hold dear everything that makes your relationship amount to what it is. Every anniversary ought to be marked in the manner your relationship deserves.

4. Moving In Together

The first step towards real long-term commitment, the halfway plunge is a hugely important aspect of any relationship.

5. Engagement

If moving in together is the first step towards retirement, engagement will be the last, step. Popping the question requires the right moment at the right place and, of course the tight person.

6. Marriage

Marriage is a true declaration of love. Planning the perfect wedding is a great task. The build up of the big day is a time of great anticipation and anxiety for both the bride and groom. This day brings  a sense of joy and relief.

7. Honeymoon

Since the knot has been tied it is only normal as a couple to go go on a romantic get away, and  celebrate the life ahead. It’s important that the honeymoon is in a quiet serene location, suiting both of your  desires.

8. Children

Deciding to have children is a very important milestone as you reach a new stage of responsibility and develop a new kind of love. The rest of your lives would be more devoted to the beautiful children who’ll be depending on you for everything.

What you Need to Know About Neymar

Here are five fascinating and interesting facts about Brazilian and Barcelona forward, Neymar many people do not know about.
Barcelona forward, Neymar

Many people may know Brazilian football star, Neymar as a Barcelona player, but there are still interesting things about the 25-year-old People have never heard about.
In this report by AFP, some fascinating facts about the star footballer who is about making a record switch from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain are revealed.

Voodoo gods summoned
Neymar and a nation shed a torrent of tears when a collision with Colombia defender Juan Camilo Zuniga left him down and out of the World Cup with a fractured vertebra, paralysis only narrowly avoided. Brazil’s 7-1 semi-final implosion to Germany compounded the misery. Fast forward two years, and the tears were of joy as Neymar’s spot-kick at the Maracana sealed a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win over Germany and a coveted first ever Olympic football gold to dissipate the painful legacy of Brazil’s roller-coaster World Cup misadventure. Brazil’s Rio 2016 campaign had started poorly with lacklustre draws that left them on the verge of more humiliation on home soil. So voodoo gods from Afro-Brazilian rites were invoked to revive fortunes.
“The Brazil team has no Olympic spirit. I am going to ask Odum, the god of strength, to give Neymar ‘good fluids’ to recover his desire to go all out,” Helio Sillman told AFP.

Paris perfect for party boy
A self-confessed party boy and lover of the night Neymar should enjoy the lure of the City of Light. The Ferrari-owner is unapologetic about his penchant for life in the fast lane.
Last year he said: “I’m 24 years old. I have my faults. I’m not perfect. I like to go out and have fun with my friends. Why shouldn’t I go out and party?… It’s my private life. On the pitch, I always give everything I have.”

Happy birthday
Three of the most celebrated footballers on the planet share many things — a ridiculously prodigious gift for the game, star appeal, a lavish lifestyle — and a very special date. For when Neymar blows out his birthday candles on February 5 every year Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez are doing the same thing.
Tevez was born on that day in 1984, Ronaldo 12 months later, with Neymar born on Feb 5, 1992, in Mogi das Crzes, Sao Paulo. Creative, eccentric and needing constant reassurance are three of the traits associated with those born under this trio’s star sign, Aquarius.

Virtual mates
Neymar may be the world’s most expensive player by the length of the Champs-Elysees, but he has some way to go to be top dog on social media. He can call on an entirely respectable 30.5 million-strong army of Twitter followers, some 58 million mates on Facebook and 78m on Instagram. That makes him marginally more popular than his erstwhile Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi, but both are eclipsed by CR7.
Across the three platforms, Cristiano Ronaldo has a whopping 282 million followers – that’s the combined populations of France, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and his native Portugal.

Neymar and GDP
If Neymar was a country his net worth based on his bank-busting 222 million euros ($260 million) release clause would place him at 206th in the United Nations’ list of nations by GDP ahead of the Marshall Islands and Palau.

Kanye West's Mental Breakdown Sparks Controversy

Ace American rapper, Kanye West has declined to pay him a sum of $10 million over issues relating with Marijuana intake.

Kanye West

Kanye West's tour insurer Lloyd's of London claims marijuana may have caused his mental breakdown late last year.
The rapper is suing the insurance company, claiming it is refusing to pay him after he was forced to cancel shows in November last year.
According to legal documents Lloyd's suggest marijuana may have led to Kanye's mental health issues in a bid to invalidate the performer's insurance claim, according to The Sun.
The 40-year-old is asking for $10million in damages, claiming the company has yet to pay him out for his cancelled shows.
Furthermore, he claims it has shown no signs it intends to pay him, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Gold Digger rapper first filed a loss claim with the company just days after famously suffering a mental breakdown in November, which saw him cancelling 21 dates for his shows.
Kanye checked into a psychiatric hospital as a result of the breakdown, but more than eight months later, he's claiming both he and his company, Very Good Touring, Inc., still haven't been paid.
His company said in a legal document filed on Tuesday that insurers have yet to pay and is 'implying that Kanye's use of marijuana may provide them with the basis to deny the claim'.
Almost immediately after being hospitalized, Kanye's physician provided the insurance company with sworn testimony he was unfit to take to the stage.
According to the complaint, the insurance company then sought to amend the terms of its coverage in an effort to avoid paying him out.
'Immediately turning to legal counsel made it clear that Defendants' goal was to hunt for any ostensible excuse, no matter how fanciful, to deny coverage or to maneuver themselves into a position of trying to negotiate a discount on the loss payment,' the suit states.
Following his breakdown, Kanye also submitted to an independent medical examination (IME) with a doctor selected by the insurance company, who also deemed him unfit to perform.
He also presented for an examination under oath (EUO), along with at least 11 members of his team. The lawsuit also accuses the insurance company of leaking damaging information about the star to media outlets, all in a bid to avoid paying out his insurance.
Among the information he claims is being leaked includes his alleged drug use, which Kanye and his team have branded 'irrelevant facts'.
Kanye's lawyers have come out swinging, saying this should serve as a warning to any other musician considering hiring Lloyd's of London.
'Performing artists who pay handsomely to insurance companies within the Lloyd's of London marketplace to obtain show tour 'non-appearance or cancellation' insurance should take note of the lesson to be learned from this lawsuit: Lloyd's companies enjoy collecting bounteous premiums; they don't enjoy paying claims, no matter how legitimate,' lawyer Howard King writes in the suit.
'Their business model thrives on conducting unending 'investigations', of bona fide coverage requests, stalling interminably, running up their insured's costs, and avoiding coverage decisions based on flimsy excuses.'
'The artists think they're buying peace of mind. The insurers know they're just selling a ticket to the courthouse.'

North Korea Gives All Amerian Citizens September Dateline to Quit

All Americans in the East Asian nation of North Korea have allegedly been ordered to leave that country by September.
Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump

According to a report by Daily Star UK, American citizens have been ordered to leave North Korea by September 1 at the latest as a ban prohibiting them from traveling to the country comes to fruition.
An exemption was noted for approved humanitarian travel and for journalists in some circumstances.
The ban is to remain in effect for one year, unless it is revoked sooner by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
The travel ban was first announced last month in the wake of the death of American student Otto Warmbier.
Warmbier, 22, died in June after being held for more than a year on charges of stealing a propaganda poster from a North Korean hotel.
A statement reads: “The Department of State has determined that the serious risk to United States nationals of arrest and long-term detention represents imminent danger to the physical safety of United States nationals traveling to and within the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).”
“All United States passports are declared invalid for travel to, in, or through the DPRK unless specially validated for such travel,” it added.
After Warnbier's death, President Trump said he was determined to “prevent such tragedies from befalling innocent people at the hands of regimes that do not respect the rule of law or basic human decency.”
Tensions are high between the countries as war fears in the Korean peninsular reach boiling point.

Prostitutes Create The Unexpected, Offer Free S*x to Mourners

Prostitutes have caused quite a stir after they stormed the burial of a notorious thief, and offered free s*x to all the mourners.

In what will come across as a really shocking development, it has been revealed that there was free s*x galore in Mbare, Zimbabwe on Monday and Tuesday night as prostitutes mourned a serial thief by offering free s*x to all mourners.

They described the late thief who succumbed to tuberculosis as a s*x maniac.

According to H-Metro, the infamous thief identified as Masiyas Mesiyas is also said to be the one who stole Jamaican artiste Elephant Man’s cellphone when he came into the country a few years ago.

Mbare residents say Mesiyas was in the same league with the late thief Borris who died near Zindoga Shopping centre in a speed chase with police. The funeral was themed ‘Birwai, Sv***ai' as thieving, drug abuse and s*x topped the funeral wake. S*x workers said Mesiyas was their regular client.

“Mesiyas was a well-known thief but one of the things we have known him for as s*x workers in Mbare is that he loved s*x and was our regular client. We had no money to contribute in planning the funeral arrangements, but we offered what we know best and male mourners who came for the funeral could get s*x for free,” said one of the hookers who identified herself as Busi.

Family spokesperson Brandon Chikukwa confirmed that mourners at the funeral were being treated to free s*x by hookers.

“I have never seen anything like what I witnessed from Monday night when my uncle died. People were celebrating his life in different ways, as they were having s*x in cars and at night, people would just go anywhere private and start having s*x. The service was being offered by the prostitutes for free to everyone who attended, we just hope they were wearing condoms. As a family we do not condone what was happening but there was nothing we could do because he was a people’s person. They were doing what they thought was best to pay their last respects to him,” said Chikukwa.

Neymar Finally Quits Barca for PSG

After many talks, Barcelona has accepted a whopping $222 million  from Paris Saint-Germain for Brazilian international, Neymar.

Barcelona forward, Neymar

According to Goal.com, Barcelona has accepted the payment of Neymar's €222 million (£198m/N95 billion) release clause as the Brazil forward's move to Paris Saint-Germain moves closer.

This was issued in a statement on Thursday by Barcelona and confirmed by his representatives who visited in person to pay the figure.

The club released an official statement on Thursday that read: "On Thursday afternoon Neymar Jr's legal representatives visited in person the club's offices and made the payment of €222m in the player's name with regards to the unilateral termination of the contract that united both parties.
"As such, the club will pass on to UEFA the details of the above operation so that they can determine the disciplinary responsibilities that may arise from this case."

Earlier on Thursday, La Liga refused to accept an attempt to pay the release clause at their offices in Madrid, leading to France's Ligue de Football Professionnel to call on the Spanish body to "abide by the rules of FIFA and its responsibilities".

Neymar's move to PSG now looks set to be completed imminently, with the Ligue 1 side reportedly ready to unveil the Brazilian on Friday.

Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has previously suggested PSG's move for Neymar would not be possible without contravening UEFAs' Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

It is understood UEFA will investigate the deal if it suspects that there has been any breach of FFP rules. PSG congratulated on Neymar swoop

La Liga president Javier Tebas has also threatened to report PSG to UEFA over the deal, which will set a new world-record transfer, smashing the previous record set by Paul Pogba's €105m move from Juventus to Manchester United a year ago.

Seven Ways to Avoid Missing Calls

If you have been missing calls from people without any measure of stopping it, these are ways you could ameliorate the situation easily.

File Photo

The mobile phone is a fundamental part of our everyday life as a crucial tool for business, communications and, practically, every other facet of interpersonal interaction. Someone dials your phone number and you are connected within seconds to communicate.

But what happens when you are not available to take the call? Research shows that in the corporate space, roughly 80 per cent of all communications take place over the phone, and about 85 per cent of people whose calls are not answered will not call back. It can be a major setback when a person misses an important call. However, some steps can be taken so as not to “miss” a call.

Some of these steps are:

(1) Install a missed call and voicemail app

There are apps that help you keep track of all your incoming calls, especially those calls that go unanswered. These apps also serve as a voicemail service for you. A very good example of such an app is Kirusa’s InstaVoice app. InstaVoice notifies you of all missed calls as well as allows your callers to leave you voicemails when you are unavailable to take the call for any reason.

The best part is that even when your phone is turned off, and calls are attempted to your mobile number, the app will notify of such calls immediately you turn on your phone, and you can easily call back such contacts or numbers that tried calling you. Additionally, it has a chat platform where you can have conversations via text, voice notes, and pictures. It can be downloaded on Google Play app store, Apple Store, BlackBerry World, and Amazon Alexa. With apps like these, the agony of missing calls from clients, friends, family, colleagues, business partners, etc, and its inherent opportunities are eliminated.

(2) Don’t leave your phone in silent mode

Never leave your mobile phone in silent mode when expecting important calls. Silent mode is a mobile phone sound configuration that shuts down all sound on the phone, including ringer and notification sounds. What this means is that when the silent mode is activated, you will not hear any call come in except if you happen to look at the phone by chance. To remove this setting, go to Settings > Sound Profile/Sound Settings, then change from ‘Silent’ to ‘General’ setting. Or just press down the ‘Volume’ up button on your phone.

(3) Use notification flash

Your phone’s back camera light can do more than just make your pictures look great. It can also alert you when you get calls by flashing on and off repeatedly. This feature would definitely come in handy when phone goes on silent mode or is far from your reach but within sight. It is also very valuable to people with auditory impairment.

(4) Keep your phone charged

A major cause of inability to receive calls is a dead phone battery. Calls will not go through when the battery of the receiver is flat. Keeping phones charged at all times in an environment with epileptic electricity supply can be very challenging. In situations where you find yourself with a low battery and no electricity supply to charge the phone, having a power bank and solar-powered lanterns with charging ports might prove quite invaluable.

(5) Take your phone everywhere

Yes, obvious but just as important. If you get calls regularly, you don’t want to miss the calls and even having to call back with your own credit. Take your phone everywhere with you, don’t leave it on the couch, in your bedroom, or anywhere you are not present. Keep the phone in your pocket, hand bag, or hold it in your hands. Low battery might tempt you to want to drop it to charge while you go somewhere else, but a viable solution to that would be to get a power bank as suggested earlier.

 (6) Stay in areas with good telecommunication network

If you are in a place where there is low network coverage, chances are whoever may be trying to call you will be unable to reach you. Either the call will not go through at all, or the call so inaudible both you and the caller are stuck in an endless “please say that again; I can’t hear you clearly” situation. It is best to stay in locations where your network operator is strongest. Now this doesn’t necessarily mean you go climbing your network carrier’s telecom pole to make calls; they cover very vast areas of land. All you need do is to always stay within area with full network bars and you are good to make and receive calls as they come.

(7) Get a Bluetooth call earphones

For those whose regular schedule requires that they move about within a specific space, it might be too cumbersome to carry your phone around, or keeping running back to your desk when the phone rings.

A way you can avoid missing most of your calls will be to get a Bluetooth call earpiece. So when your phone rings, all you have to do is just tap a button on the earpiece and you are on to the call…just like that.

Journalists Detained, Harassed, Beaten Covering Congo Protests

New York, August 3, 2017--Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo should cease harassing and detaining journalists and should allow them to cover protests and other events of public interest without interference, the Committee to Protect Journalists said today.
Security forces harassed, detained, or beat at least 18 journalists across the country on July 31 as they covered anti-government protests, according to media reports and Congolese press freedom advocates. Security forces released all of the journalists by the end of the day, but deleted many of the journalists' photographs and recordings first. Security forces arrested more than 100 people in the nationwide protests demanding that President Joseph Kabila leave office by the end of the year, according to media reports.
"Detaining journalists and deleting their photographs and recordings is a crude attempt at censoring news of protests and sends a chilling message to the press in the Democratic Republic of Congo," said CPJ Africa Program Coordinator Angela Quintal. "Journalists must be permitted to report freely, without fear of being arrested or harassed by security services."
According to the DRC Association of Online Media (MILRDC), an independent advocacy group, security services on July 31 detained at least seven journalists in the capital, Kinshasa, including: Pascal Mulegwa, a reporter for Turkey's Anadolu news agency; Christine Tshibuyi, a reporter for ACTUALITE.CD; Emmanuela Zondi, a reporter for Vox Congo; and journalists for BBC Afrique, Reuters, and China's Xinhua News Agency, whom the association did not name.
"All the journalists [at the demonstration] were subject to immediate arrest without explanation. We stayed inside a school under police supervision," one of the journalists detained in Kinshasa told CPJ, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal.
At least four journalists were detained in the eastern city of Goma on July 31, including: the BBC Afrique's Ley Uwera; Daniel Chube Ngorombi, of Radio France Internationale's Swahili service; Etienne Mosengo, a reporter for the community radio station Radio Télé du Graben Beni (RTGB); and Justin Kabunga, a reporter for Congo Synthèse, according to media reports. Uwera wrote on Twitter that security services deleted material she had gathered reporting on the protests.
The same day, security forces in in the northeastern city of Butembo detained at least two journalists--Radio Soleil journalist Merveille Kakule Saliboko and George Kisando, who works for the radio station of the Catholic University of Graben (UCG)--according to the journalists and media reports. Officers seized Saliboko's phone, and, as of August 2, 2017, had not returned it to him, he wrote in a blog post.
Security forces in the eastern city of Bukavu also detained at least two journalists--Esther Lubago and Christian Safari, both from the private television station Canal Futur--Lubago told CPJ. Security forces deleted the journalist's recording of the protests before releasing her, she told CPJ. Josué Musole, of the community broadcaster Radio Nenolauzima, and BBC reporter Byobe Malenga individually told CPJ that security forces beat them as they were on their way to cover the July 31 demonstration in Bukavu.
"The commander ordered the policemen to search us and to take everything: camera, recorder," Malenga told CPJ. "They started to beat us."
In the southeastern city of Lubumbashi, at least one journalist from the U.N.-funded Radio Okapi was detained, according to media reports and the journalist, who spoke to CPJ on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal.
CPJ's repeated phone calls to Mwana Mputu, spokesperson for the national police, went unanswered.
The Congolese government has in recent weeks sought to control independent reporting. The Ministry of Communication and Media on July 12, 2017, issued new regulations restricting foreign journalists' ability to report on socio-economic issues and politics, as well as "strategic locations" such as military barracks, telecommunication installations, and embassies, according to directives seen by CPJ and a statement by the Congolese press freedom group Journaliste en Danger. The orders also require that foreign journalists obtain government permission to cross regional borders within the country.
In a separate incident, on July 25, 2017, three men in plainclothes who identified themselves as military intelligence officers assaulted and briefly detained two Agence France-Presse journalists reporting on a doctors' strike in Kinshasa, AFP reported. An officer accused the journalists of taking images aimed at "smearing the country" abroad, but released them after roughly half an hour, according to AFP.

Arsenal Team-mates Lose Hope in Sanchez as Barca Turns Attention to Di Maria

The transfer market is heating up with Neymar, Sanchez, Di Maria, Philippe Coutinho gaining all the buzz in the transfer window.

Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil

Arsenal are weighing up whether to make an offer for talented Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to ESPN.

The report claims the Gunners are prepared to battle rivals Tottenham for Seri's signature, though much depends on whether Nice qualify for the Champions League group stages.

With Neymar seemingly set for a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona have been in touch with Angel Di Maria to gauge the Argentine's interest in a move the opposite way, Mundo Deportivo reports.

The Spanish outlet claims the attacker is open to the idea of playing alongside countryman Lionel Messi and, at 29 years old, could make the most of the final peak years of his career with one more high-profile move.

Barcelona will ignore Liverpool's claim that Philippe Coutinho is not for sale at any price by making an offer worth around €120 million (£107.2m) for the Brazilian, according to the Daily Mail.

The Catalan side are in search of a replacement for Neymar after he was given permission to sort out his future ahead of his expected move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Liverpool are determined to hold on to the Brazilian, but that won't reportedly stop the Blaugrana from trying with a huge offer.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has convinced his team-mates that he wants to leave the club this summer, according to the  Daily Mail .

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in the Chile international and following his return to training, the rest of the Gunners' squad are now of the belief that he wants out.

AC Milan want to sign Chelsea striker Diego Costa on a permanent deal this summer, according to a report from the Telegraph .
Blues boss Antonio Conte has made it clear that Costa is not in his plans for the upcoming Premier League season and remains confident of offloading the Spain international in the coming weeks.

Monaco have raised their asking price for Kylian Mbappe to €200 million in the hope that Barcelona will seek him out as a replacement for Neymar, reports Mail Online.

Real Madrid were reportedly willing to pay around £160m for the France international, but they will now have to dig a little deeper if they want to get a deal done.
Barcelona will look to sign Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann as a replacement for PSG-bound Neymar, according to SPORT.

The report claims the Blaugrana are resigned to losing Neymar and have drawn up a shortlist of possible replacements, including Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele and PSG's Angel Di Maria.

But Barca reportedly prefer Griezmann as he is already used to Spanish football, but they would need to negotiate with Atletico as they cannot afford the Frenchman's €200m release clause.

A number of Barcelona players have become 'completely sick' at the long-running transfer saga involving Neymar, according to Sport .
The Brazilian has been linked with a transfer-record switch to PSG all summer, with Barca stars apparently now resigned to losing the 25-year-old despite their attempts to convince him to stay.

Barcelona could turn their attention to signing Arsenal's Mesut Ozil if they are unable to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, Don Balon  claims.

With Neymar's future up in the air regarding a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain, the Catalan side are having to look at alternatives to the former Brazil captain.

Coutinho is said to be atop their wishlist if his countryman does leave for PSG, but Barca believe they could prise Ozil away from the Emirates for a fee of around €60 million and have a dig at Real Madrid – the German's former club – in the process.

Decentralization Fund: Mayors Want 10% of the National Budget

The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization (MINATD) has disclosed that FCFA 400 has been set aside for foster government decentralization programme nationwide. Decentralization process mayors say has been moving at snail pace.
In his reaction to government efforts to boost the process Emile Andze Andze, the President of Union of Cities and Councils of Cameroon-UCCC said that the funds are insufficient to stimulate local development. He said the problem with decentralization has been finances. “We have asked that the state budget of Cameroon should allocate 10 percent per year for local development” he said. He said if government has been allocating jus the 10 percent every year since 2010, the process of decentralization would have been more effective taking into consideration the problems they face in generating funds locally. And not giving FCFA 400 billion to be shared in seven years.
“If we distribute these amounts between 374 municipalities in seven years, we will see that this is not enough to prop up local development, which entails providing water, energy, schools and health centers.”
