Dr. Ndonwie Peter of PAOR-VWC has been honoured as the Best Philanthropist of the year. His efforts in promoting the education of the girl-child in Ghana and Cameroon.
It should be noted that the Pan African Organisation for Research-PAOR since 2008, has
been working to enhance livelihood of the less privileged and to
safeguard the rights of women and children, both in Ghana and Cameroon. More so, PAOR has instituted various programs aimed
at improving teaching and learning, annihilating forced and child
marriages, witchcraft allegations, conserving the environment as well as
instituting scholarships to put needy but brilliant children through
school.
Dr Peter has previously been bestowed Best Social Entrepreneur Award
by Swedish based organisation, Reach for Change and Tigo Ghana, for
promoting the rights of Women and children in Northern Ghana. The award
package included $ 75,000 to augment his work as a hero for change.
Dr Peter says his latest achievement could not have been possible
without the people at the receiving end of his selfless service to
humanity.
“This Award is dedicated to women and children from struggling
families I am supporting for without them, this award may not have
come,” the international Development Consultant wrote on his facebook
page. In Bamenda, he is celebrated for his numerous actions towards alleviating the plight of the poorest of the poor. Of late, he organized free-eye screening to the population of Bamenda and is noted for his selfless efforts in promoting youth activities.
