The President of the National Episcopal
Conference has disclosed that the Catholic Church is set to monitor the
upcoming October 7, 2018 Presidential election in Cameroon. His Lordship Samue Kleda
made the revelation during a press briefing in Douala last Monday 18. The Peace
and Justice Commission of the Catholic Church he added will deploy election
monitors all over the national territory to monitor how Cameroonians vote. The
role of the church he emphasized is to to tell Cameroonians who to vote as a
leader that will be able to solve the socio-political and economic problems. Harping
on the Anglophone crisis, His Lordship Samuel Kleda was categorical that the
crisis emanated from bad governance and injustice. The Archbishop of Douala
continued by calling on government to engage in a genuine dialogue to get
lasting solution to the problem.
