Denis Lavagne’s tenure of office as head coach
of the Indomitable Lions will be formalised today with the signing of
the contract linking him to the Cameroon government.
The information was made public
yesterday by the communication unit of the Ministry of Sports and
Physical Education. The signing comes on the heels of the victory
against the Democratic Republic of Congo in the first qualifying match
for the 2014 World Cup to take place in Brazil and puts an end to
rumours that there was a bid for the appointment of a new and befitting
coach for the Indomitable Lions. The move places Denis Lavagne in a good
mind frame to continue the reconstruction work of the national football
team. But yet public opinion holds that the fact that Denis Lavagne left the hall without making any statement to the press indicates he was not happy with the terms of the contract.
