Fire on the Mountain (Latest Gossips from Camer)

Fai Cassian Ndi (Writtam-pen)
Effioh Vincent, Effioh Barbara: Both Dead for Love
Country people, permit me pass my warm and special greetings to all mothers, the world over. I can only borrow from Prince Nico Mbarga’s song “Sweet Mother” to say, Happy Mother’s Day to You All. In fact my profound message on this particular day goes to the would-be 276 Mothers who were abducted in Nigeria by Boko Haram. In fact mothers are just the best thing the world has offered to humanity. When we have a misfortune, the first exclamation is “weh my mami eehh!” This is just to say that mothers are precious. They deserve this day.
Nobody ever becomes left handed in old age. Do you hear me? I say, nobody becomes left handed in old age. I am sure those who followed me on Facebook should know why I am insisting on this statement. You know, young men and women nowadays are very funny. Some of them think that going to school is an achievement. I am inviting readers of Writtam-pen never to miss Ma Part de Verite an imagery communication that emanates from a-five episodes three travels to Fuh (Ndu Sub Division, Donga Mantung Division). At weekend, one educated young achiever told me he will offer me free lectures on the ethics in journalism. Journaliste competente et engager de mon etate? Just imagine? To him, I worship gombo and gombo is my religion. In our “intellectual war” I reminded him time and again that he is holding fire in his left hand and gas in the other, and that when it will generate into a spark, he will not be able to control. But he laughed and said it was a gombo threat. No kobo!! Mbinglo, they call him replied. But I kept reminding him that apart from the fire and gas in hand, he is also holding an infested can. And when the time came, I just headed the can for caterpillars, worms, snakes and other loathsome creatures to crawl. My local hero ran helter-scalter, deleting his posts. On bended knees, he pleaded and went incomatoes. Bob I had harked back said gombo is like numbers that never end and I know well that I can never get happiness by worshipping it. His problem is that I am an Awudu man! Country people, this incident reminded me of what my father told me. He said you can only know the rage of a lion when you step into his den to meet the unexpected.
My people, you know journalism has been reduced to a click on a computer, laptop, smart telephone, ipad etc. I do not know whether it is citizen journalism that has gone bananas? But I don’t hope so. If it is, then I have work to do. I am sure my project to train 25 citizen journalists in Nkambe will change the ways of “nwebum. Even my son who quite often breaks out news in the social media would always tell me, we are all journalists now! Necessity, they say is the mother of invention, but in journalism this dogma is not tenable. Journalism is about facts. I remember how my mother was very curious to know the job I have chosen, and when I told her journalism she could not understand. You know, for a woman who never sat on a bench to learn the Whiteman’s way, she could hardly understand. It took pains for me the dilute the information in “Limbum” my dialect for her to understand. After listening to me, she concluded “that your profession is a necessary evil”. To her I should have been a medical doctor so that I can take care of her or a teacher so that she would always enjoy free fire wood from pupils/students. This journalism massa!
As part of activities marking World Press Freedom Day a week ago, North West journalists visited UNVDA rice production, packaging and storage facilities at Ndop under the coordination of Choves Loh and Rose Obah. At the UNVDA eco-farms I reminded my colleagues that whenever I come closer to nature I always think of changing my profession. I told them how my father who was a poor coffee farmer that could only managed 100 bags of coffee per year lived a more dignified life even when prices dropped drastically. He lived a better life than some of us writtam-pens and walka-talkam dem.  When I learnt that the Brazilian producing magnificent results in UNVDA Eco-farms had not gone to school, I reflected how my diploma in agro forestry and the training I had from TFF (Maryland) could move me back into action when I include what I acquired at SAILD tree nursery in Yaounde, IRAD Kismatari, IRAD Njombe etc where I benefited from the internal training program of 1999. I am sure some of you will be taken aback that besides being a writtam-pen; I am a professional tree grafter and an environmentalist. Do you know that in 2013, your writtam-pen won an International Grant/Award on the Intelligent Use of Water? Is that not much? So what is really this journalism, Motumo Eric of Chronicle asked me, pondering on the merits and demerits of a profession wherein even those who can not write a good sentence usually transform themselves to teachers? Today we meet these teachers everywhere, political meetings, social media, churches, schools, along the street, homes etc. Let me not bore you with the ups and downs of journalism which characterized the daily notes of a writtam-pen. Do not to miss (Ma Part de Verite-Five Episodes of My Three Travels to Fuh). You know if I do not blow my own trumpet as my dad told me, someone else will do it and very wrongly.
This country, my people! Na wa, everyone for himself and God for us all. Do you know that Sepp Blatter, the boss of “Food-ball” FIFA was in Cameroon? I thought he will visit his former friend Iya, but I instead spotted him with Popol and Massa Jo, Chairman of the Normalization Committee of “FECAFOOD”. I have been hinted that Massa Jo doesn’t want to quit. Long live FECAFOOD. Massa Yo says old players of the national team have no say in foodball managment in this country. I hear there is heat in FECAFOOD. I hope you heard Sepp, he said Cameroon will be indomitable in Brazil, Is this man aware that we are 50th on FIFA classification?
Since Popol came back from his summits everyone has been expecting that he will knot his head yet nothing is happening. This is a man with a phobia for summits. I am sure he should be heading for Paris this week for another summit on the invitation of France’s Holand to strategize on how to find the girls abducted by Boko Haram. You know some foreign media have said that some of these girls were allegedly in Cameroon and Chad.  Government vuvuzela refuted the allegations. Popol is super human, even with the threats; he governs unperturbed. Boko Haram insurgents are threatening in the North and the Seleka, anti Balaka etc in the South yet Popol is very confident. Impossible n’est pas Cameroonaise, you must have heard of the explosive devices (bombs) caught at the Nsimalen Airport and Douala. Our security network is proofing it worth. Certainly those who thought they could use Cameroon as a transit for terrorist activities are hooked with the arrest of two at the Nsimalen and one who vamoosed after the device was confiscated. I hear Yaounde authorities are requesting that he should be trans-neared back to Camer here to face the music.
Popol is quite an unpredictable man. We should therefore not be surprise to see him behave like the lion man whom he is. Just jump from his thicket and take his victims unaware. To put it short, he is surely heading for a cabinet shakeup? Popol, is wonda man, have you heard that last week, Engo Desire, Etonde Ekotto were released from prison?
Now with the appointment of another Anglophone to head Chantier Naval, public opinion is questioning whether Zachs Forjindam too cannot benefit from Popol’s largess. Congrats, Forgwe Alfred Mbeng. He is the newly appointed General Manager of Chantier Naval. Could it be a poison gift when everyone expected Forgwe Alfred to be appointed as Director of Cabinet at PM’s office? For over seven years now, chantier naval has registered over 37 strikes; and over 5 different managers.
Country people, have you heard that the Lebang Palace is fresh? Fontem Asaba was enthroned on Friday as the new ruler of the Lebang people. The 25 years bush faller was seated at weekend. When I saw him, I knew he will make a good ruler. I say bush faller in the sense that he has been abroad on studies not for green grass. Let no one misquote me.  I saw Lebang lobbyists holding sub meetings as His Majesty’s cabinet is expected soon.Foreke Dchang showed their ancestral lineage to the Leban people. It was hotspot for cultural exhibits. I hope my talkative friend and colleague of The Sun Newspaper will be appointed in His Majestic's cabinet as chief of the Lebialem people in Abakwa. Don't ask me why or why. The young must grow. Ha-ah!
Do Anglophones have a voice in Cameroon? I am sure you have been taken aback by the abruptness of this question. Let me repeat: do you think that Anglophones have a voice in this country? I ask this question because lawyers of the North West and South West functioning under the common law say they won’t accept the appointment of notaries. They staged a protest march and were received by Hon. Cavaye, Laurent Esso but rebuked by their own brother.  Yang continues to squander opportunities to speak or act on behalf of Anglophones.
Country people, sometimes, one is better dead than alive under questionable circumstances.
Mr Effioh Vincent and Effioh Barbara, have killed the spirit of marriage. In fact this couple that got married for the better or worst is the worst of the worst. Human being is weaked. I am referring here to the case of the Police Officer who shot the wife in Ngola and later used his own hands to kill himself. I have always asked myself whether some of these guys who have access to guns shouldn’t go through some sort of psychics’ transformation. Love is foolish. I say very foolish. Barbara Effioh was a worker with Credit Foncier while the husband was Police office.
My heart this weekend goes to the 276 would-be mothers who were adopted by suspected militants of Boko Haram. It is Mother’s Day today and mothers are really sweet and dear. On this special day, I salute my mother Mami Regina Muchop, my own very beautiful wife, Comfort (who is also a mother), my daughters (Cherry-lane, Ashley Leticia) who the mothers of tomorrow.

Catholic Bishops Calls for the Release of Abducted Missionaries

Cameroon Bishops have called for the release of the three missionaries who were kidnapped in the Northern Region of Cameroon by suspected militants of Boko Haram. The Bishops made the clarion call today, May 10, 2014 during at close of the 39th plenary assembly of the Episcopal Conference. During the conference, the Bishops expressed their preoccupation on the growing social insecurity in the North, adding that it the persistent insecurity surrounding their activities.  They call for all the Christians to pray for the release of all the hostages in the world, especially the two Rev. Fathers of Canadian nationality and Canadian Nun abducted in the Northern Region of Cameroon. The kidnapping at gunpoint it should be recalled took place on Friday April 4, 2014 night to Saturday at about 11:45 pm in the Far North Region of Cameroon. Militants of Islamic sect Boko Haram are suspected to have carried out the abduction, classified sources say. The two priests Giampaolo Marta and Gianantonio Allergri are from the Northern part of Italy, precisely Vicence and were doing missionary work in archdiocese of Tchere (approximately 20 km away from Maroua, Regional capital of the Far North). Worthy to note that last year, members of the Boko Haram sect abducted Georges Vandenbeusch, a French Priest and the Moulin-Fournier’s family who all later released. Allegations abound high that Boko Haram considers Cameroon as a source of financing and had adopted the attitude of kidnapping in order to out source for funding. Yet Yaounde officials refuted these allegations when the French Priest was released last year by militants of Boko Haram.

"Explosive Device" Uncovered in Second Cameroon Airport?

Pic of explosive device
News reports say that airport security officers have nabbed two Brussels Airlines passengers at the Nsimalen airport on Thursday after officers found “potentially explosive” material in their luggage.
According to The Standard Tribune, the arrest came within weeks after customs at the Douala airport removed suspected explosives from a passenger’s luggage as he boarded an Air Maroc flight.Speculations as to whether terrorists are attempting to use Cameroon as a transit abound high. Considering the fact that a bomb exploded on a bridge linking Nigeria to Cameroon, fears have been raised on the terrorist threats.
Police at the Nsimalen airport said they found what they believed to be explosive material in the hand luggage of two unnamed passengers. The men believed to be traveling to the United States via Brussels were prevented from boarding the plane and taken away. Airport rules consider any suspicious behavior or talk that may be considered to potentially endanger a plane as a crime.

Nigerian Governor Kicks Against Use of Foriegn Troops to Fight Boko Haram?

Reports by Nigeriacamera.net say the Governor of Adamawa, Murtala Nyako has joined the league of North East politicians fighting the decision of the federal government over its decision to bring in foreign troops in the fight against the Islamic terror group, Boko Haram.
Governor Nyako advised that the use of force on Boko haram members will not solve the problem of abduction of  200 school girls in Chibok, Borno state.
The Governor has been campaigning in the last two months for the Federal government not to extend the state of emergency declared in the three North East of Nigeria last year.
Critics say "It seems the Northern youths have allowed the elders of the North to continue manipulating them into believing and living a violent life. Now let’s see how great the elders are leading them and a case study is the case of the Chibok girls. It is pertinent to ask the following questions. How many students are in that village ,then how many in that school in question that 230 of them were kidnapped in just one raid ?
What kind of vehicles were used to kidnap 230 students ? If it is buses how many of them carried 230 student plus the members of Boko Haram that kidnapped them ? If it is Hummer buses that carries 15 people then we are looking at fleet of buses .We have to take into cognizance the terrain and route the kidnappers with the 230 students plied ,the kind of buses that will pass through it .Does it mean that the 230 girls remained silent through out the journey , they did not cry out during the raid?
Does it mean that all the students in that school are living in boarding house ? The Management of the School has been giving conflicting and contradicting numbers of the Students kidnapped, from 124 and to any figure depending on who asked them ,so does it mean there is no established numbers of students in that school ,so we can deduct the day students and the boarding students and count how many that were not kidnapped?
How on earth did a group of 40 students escape from Boko Haram fortified camp ? Does it mean the Boko Boys were asleep or let them all to go or the 40 girls over powered them and escaped and others were left behind ?
We must assume that the Girls were blind folded or tied ,how did they navigate the forest or from the hidden spot and came home ,clean and unmolested ?
The Principal originally said the soldiers rescued the girls ,then later he changed his story ,does it mean he is reading a script ? It cannot be a bad conclusion if we assume that the whole thing is a movie project ,written and played by actors that want to give the Federal Government bad name and black eyes. Have we noticed that nobody from the North is blaming the army, police,SSS not even the DPO in that area ,commissioner of Police of the state ,field commander of the Army, or even the NSA but they all believe that the President must be blamed ?
How come all the fingers are pointing at the President in other to make him look insensitive, wicked and careless ? who is beating that drum ? Is the drum good enough to place fetters of iron on the eyes of the nation so they won,t vote President Jonathan again for 2015 ? Or is it to look as if the State of Emergency running in that state is not working , so that the President will not extend the state of Emergency ?
Do they actually think that the nation is that dumb not to have seen the bad hand writing on the walls of this players ? Is this a case of crying wolf when there is no wolf but sheep in the pen ? Is this all a plot to stop a progressive 2015 ?".
These are some of the questions that critical minds in Nigeria have been trying to find solution to them.

Boko Haram Blows up Bridge Linking Nigeria and Cameroon

Reports from say a small bridge linking Nigeria to Cameroon has been blown apart by #BokoHaram insurgents, resulting in death and pandemonium. The bombing took place on the outskirts of Gamboru Ngala, where a Boko Haram attack took place on Monday, an attack which claimed the lives of more than 300 village residents.
It is alleged that at least thirty people have met with their deaths in the bombing incident today which happened late in the afternoon, sources say. The bridge connects the immigration checkpoints of both Cameroon and Nigeria.
This bombing takes place on the same day as the mass burial of the over 300 residents in Gamboru Ngala. The number 300 is about 10% of the population in the town.
Sahara reporters’ sources say of the 336 people who died, 315 were buried in a mass ceremony which was held solemnly by civic and religious leaders.
Even though Boko Haram hasn’t claimed responsibility for blowing up the bridge, there is deep suspicion that Boko Haram terrorists have blown up a bridge linking Nigeria and Cameroon in a desperate bid to deter soldiers pursuing them after it appears that they have fled across the border with some of the abducted schoolgirls.
On April 14, Boko Haram kidnapped 234 pupils from Government Secondary School Chibok, in Borno State and this month alone, have set off two devastating bombs in the Federal Capital Territory satellite town Nyanya. Earlier this week, the extremist sect also attacked the village of Warabe, also in Borno State, killing about 300 people and abducting a further 11 girls.
Given the recent horror of Boko Haram's activities, there has been an international outrage, with the international community united in its condemnation of the group. Britain, the US, France and China have all offered assistance in helping to track down the missing girls and have promised logistical support to eliminate the terrorist sect.
With US Marines and British soldiers already in Nigeria assisting the Nigerian Army, the noose appears to be tightening around Boko Haram and some of its fighters have subsequently fled across the border to Cameroon. Yesterday, its fighters destroyed the link bridge between Gamboru-Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State and Cameroon in a bid to ward off its pursuers.
Major General Chris Olukolade,  military defence headquarters spokesman said: “The affected bridge is a vital one connecting Nigeria with Cameroon. The fleeing sect members destroyed the bridge in anger to frustrate troops from pursuing them.
“The way they destroyed the bridge, only light vehicles can manage to pass. The damage will not allow armoured vehicles to pass through and their target is to halt the movement of troops across the border."
Gamboru has been an area where Boko Haram has been very actively and in January 2013 it took control of more than eight local government  areas in northern Borno State bordering Cameroon. These included Gamboru- Ngala, Marte, Mobbar, Gubio, Guzamala, Abadam, Kukawa, and  Kala-Balge but Nigerian troops succeeded in regaining the control of the area.
Major General Olukolade added that the latest development has confirmed intelligence reports that the insurgents have a well-established base in Cameroon. Gamboru is a strategic town vital to the counter-attacks against the insurgents and there were concerns last night that Boko Haram might be planning a fresh attempt to retake northern Borno State.

Labour Day: CTE Ndu Strengthens Relationship with Workers

By Haruna Mohammadou
It is widely acknowledged that quality fetches high prices and value addition may also be achieved through greater efficiency. However, with better logistics and a cordial atmosphere between management and workers, there is bound to be progress. It could be by improving and extending the reach of agricultural activities, but also more importantly improving working and social conditions. The Cameroon Tea Estate Plantation-Ndu is staking everything on improving the quality of its products and working conditions at the workplace. This is so because since 2011 that a new manager was appointed to the plantation, the sum that some workers earn in return, is little short of a miracle. This was part of the engagement the manager of CTE told his collaborators during Labour Day celebrations. He said that Ndu Tea plantation will make sure that HIV/AIDS becomes a thing of the past and they are advocating for zero stigmatization and zero HIV/AIDS.
Mohammadou Kabiru: Manager
When George Washington Carver in one of his theories on great people said that “when you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world”, certainly he was dreaming of the type of managers who do not only give instructions but lead for others to follow. In fact this uncommon ways of doing things has made the Plantation Manager of CTE Ndu, Mohammadou Kabiru the most dogged character in present time. He has within a very short time branded himself with the familiar circuit of great silent achievers. More sustaining harmony, trust and above all transparency in the collective proffers have served him as guiding principle. When he went out of the box and set the example by making work at CTE Ndu plantation workable for all those who were disgruntled against the past management, he entered record books.
The True Leading Manager
A manager is traditionally perceived as someone who only gives instructions. Yet Mohammadou Kabiru is more of a leader than just a manager. Interesting, CTE workers have testified that Kabiru is the only manager that entertains suggestions from the workers on how to improve their working conditions and on how they can collectively add value to their activities to boost the company’s output. Through this approach he gained the confident and trust of the
Mohammadou Kabiru leading by example at Nkambe Grandstand
workers. Mohammadou Kabiru has all the qualities of a true leader worth emulating. Naturally, he is very a kind person. He is the only Manager who has made all the improvements for workers to have a good life, not for his own interest but for the general interest of all, they say. He is role model; whose devotion to instill hard work and his constant present with workers in every value chain has changed many things positively. He is not only a leader, but a father, husband, brother, and a friend that many have been leaning on and would continue to lean on.
He is looked upon as modernizer because he possesses these qualities: leadership and vision, good management abilities, social and economic inclination, ability to provide security and to protect the environment as well as having the skill to cultivate good relations in communities with different cultural, racial and social backgrounds.
When Mohammadou Kabiru was appointed in 2011, his drive, passion and commitments have been inspiring and have driven many successful changes. His savoir-faire and managerial skills caught the admiration of the administration which earned him a medal on May 1, 2013.
On May 1, 2014, the Njuh Dance Group of CTE in one of their songs sang that: “Mohammadou Kabiru represents a new generation of leaders in the Donga Mantung Division”. Usually, managers hide but not Mr.Mohammadou Kabiru. Only dishonest ones hide but since this Manager of CTE Ndu has proved to be an honest man and a dedicated servant who believes in human rights and fights everyday in the defence of those very important concepts which are often violated today, he has made himself the peoples’ manager. During Labour Day celebrations in Nkambe, people were shocked to see him march-pass with other workers. As one senior administrator puts: he is a mixer and that is why CTE is growing from strength to strength”. At the end of the day, CTE left Nkambe with two prizes. This was the first of its kind in the history of the Ndu Tea Plantation. The elated workers chant in honour of their Manager for trailing them into a breakthrough which is multi-dimensional. Cameroonian ace musician Prince Afo Akom in one of his sound tracks said that “creativity is not sold in the market” and to it, I will add, that creativity is talent of integrity. The questions that always come to our minds when we are found in from of people with extra abilities have always been why it is so difficult for human kind to understand great people. The answer is that great people always live ahead of time; they live in after, after tomorrow in their actions and thoughts. Like the famous Nostradamus, the Man who saw Tomorrow, great people are people who more often than not see tomorrow. And because most of those around them are myopic, they do not understand them and tend to misinterpret them erroneously.
The great American Statesman Abraham Lincoln once said “I will like to be remembered that I picked the weeds and planted flowers”. As a matter of fact, it is this very declaration that reshaped the United America to what is popularly known today as the “American Dream”. It is this inspirational quote that continues to inspire leaders around the world to make a difference in what they are trusted to do. Judged to have been inspired by this quote is also Mohammadou Kabiru’s whose inputs at the level of CTE Ndu is creating a weave of unbelievable success story. He falls in the first category of new breed of workaholic individuals with Cameroon Tea Estate whose dream has been that of making the difference. This pragmatic gentle has attested further than doubts that in picking weeds and planting flowers he will surely change lives. His achievements have been realized through realistic perceptions, efforts and the skills he is putting in place at CTE Ndu.

Book Review: MASHRA Sets Standards with Two Publications

Title: Indigenous People and Politics
Author: Dr. Kelly Ngyah
Publisher: Modern Advocacy Humanitarian Social and Rehabilitation Association (MAHSRA)
Pages: 325
Dr. Kelly’s work is a painstaking research masterpiece that addresses the global situation of Indigenous people and the role of politics, what the author describes as the anthropological perspective of Indigneity through the Human Rights based context of tribal peoples as stipulated in the ILO Indigenous and Tribal Peoples Convention of 1989. The struggle the author tackles is more sociological and psychosomatic in nature, and is confined within the global context. The book is the result of several years of research and study that highlights the indigenous worries of people the world over and opens a strategic way on how stakeholders could easily enhance policy advocacy with governments (in order to make a breakthrough) with their actions.
In examining the situation of Indigenous people across the globe, the author carves out the world’s indigenous people within measurable regional regrouping dimensions. In the pursuit he overviews the indigenous and ethnic minority peoples’ politico-legal situations in 14 zones (South America, Russia, Central, East and South Asia, Middle East, North America, the Arctic Region, Australia, Eastern, Central, Northern and Southern and Western Africa), which focuses on the situation of 400 indigenous people in 70 different countries.
Dr. Kelly Ngyah’s findings can be amply validated by the following case that appropriately reflects the theme of his book: The Indigniety, Anthropology, Political Trans-nationalism and the analyses of Indigenous peoples outside Africa. And naturally, it is a compilation of the situation of indigenous peoples within Africa; and a summarized cross-sectional comparative study of the presented cases in the earlier parts.
The book touches the issue of belonging, self determination and politics of identification throws more light on the United Nation’s Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous People, which is addressed as sub theme equally paints the picture of a baffling realization, as the author accurately portrayed the political, cultural, historical and economic parameters, which define the notion and sentiment of belonging and rights. As to whether it could be very hard to pin down perceptions.
The detailed explanations in the book only goes to authenticate the author’s perspicacity in the treatment of his subject matter (a world worry), and exposes other innovative areas of his research on the Indigenous people. Just like in fame of his earlier publications, the author displays perfect mastery of his subject matter and his sustained interest in indigeneity has certainly qualified him as an authority in the field reasons why a copy would provide the knowledge that would truly empower anyone on both academic and professional bases.

Title: Nations and Community Solidarity
Author: Dr. Kelly Ngyah
Publisher: Modern Advocacy Humanitarian Social and Rehabilitation Association (MAHSRA)
e-version available
In an otherwise optimistic outlook for the world’s hope of achieving the Millennium Development Goals-MDGs, there is some good news in a new book published by MASHRA titled: “Nations and Community Solidarity”. In fact development works best when communities get engage in unison in any process without divergences.
Nations and Community Solidarity is not just an ordinary book given its general appraisal on how mutually comprehensive relationships between human groupings can be achieved. It goes beyond the artificial boundaries that separate communities into the dark corners of its negative impact to sustain positive actions, livelihood and project implementation. It is a book that looks deeply into the challenges the liberalists of humane concepts and put forth the huge allowances of human freedom (how to deal with) that arises in a nation.
The idea and the vision that Dr. Kelly Ngyah propounds could very well encourage, inspire and shape the choices over certain community binding rules such as the problematic compounded by stakeholders and actors with respect to the possibility of achieving major solidarity focus with large community perception like “the nation”, which is made up several communities.
Still, final decision must come from serious readers who have an open mind to the word “community spirit and solidarity”.  Like many other prolific writers, Dr. Kelly Ngyah in puts across the book his exceptionally visionary driven, practical guide-tool for development actors. The author in this book finds answers to the discomfort of communities within a state with diversified cultures and poses reasons why some development initiatives would flop.
The nation here is thus faced with a very great task to bring all its smaller and divergent political, cultural, economic, social and scientific communities within its territory, under the same canopy goal of peace and development. The achievement of such a national solidarity purpose can only be possible if the nation should, in partnership and guidance lead collaboration with its intranational as well as the international communities, plan and implement joint development ventures. In this book he had found several answers that do not only make sense to development initiatives, but to any development oriented structure, researcher or actor in search of a good guide to attain his/her goal. Dr. Ngyah developed an insight into how and why the perception of nationalism as an imagined community is consistent in scope and applied context when it comes to “Nations and Community Solidarity”. The ups and downs of nations and community solidarity have been treated as sub themes in the book with the refined conception of citizenship and other national unity symbols including the national flag and emblems giving the nation-State a venerated and autonomous mother community overview.  This means that, the nation holds due overall responsibility to ensure its role in fostering peaceful solidarity amongst the communities under its territorial jurisdiction, but:
1. Is this always the case?
2. If not, should that be the reason why the international community should interfere in the protector privileges that ought to be solely, an autonomous issue for the imagined nation-State community?
3. Can nations within the true practical conception and implementation of their bestowed autonomies and sovereignties be trusted with the safety of their intranational communities?
What do you suggest?
In order to get answers to these worries it primordial and necessary to get an e-version or pdf copy. For more information contact: mahsra.blogspot.com
