The baobab tree has
fallen. One of Cameroon’s industrialist and politician, Kadji Defosso has died
at the age of 95 years. Reports say Kadji Defosso died early Wednesday morning
in a hospital in Johannesburg-South Africa. The celebrated business magnet who
hails from Bana in the West region was the Chief Executive Officer of Union
Camerounaise du Brasserie-UCB which he created in 1972. He was also Mayor of
Bana Council. It should be noted that in its recent publication Forbe Magazine
classified him as the second richest person in Cameroon with 205 million
dollars. The Group Kadji has to its credit many other business entities such as
Kadji Sports Academy that trains young footballers, Polyplast that produces plastic
items, SCC that also produces cereal produces, Insurance Company etc. He was
mayor of Bana council since 2002 until today that he took the journey of no
return.
