Oral Sex Is Causing The Spread Of Untreatable ‘Super Gonorrhoea’ – World Health Organisation Warns

Health experts have warned that oral sex is causing the spread of a dangerous gonorrhoea superbug. The untreatable strain of gonorrhoea is rapidly spreading across the world putting millions of lives at risk, the World Health Organisation has warned.
Experts said that incurable gonorrhoea has started to spread after becoming resistant to antibiotics, which has been partly caused by oral sex and a decline in condom use.
The sexually transmitted bacteria can live at the back of the throat and, because of this, has been evolve immunity to antibiotics used to treat common throat infections.
The WHO issued a warning after it confirmed that three people had contracted the superbug.
‘Gonorrhoea is a very smart bug,’ said Teodora Wi, a human reproduction specialist at the Geneva-based UN health agency.
‘Every time you introduce a new type of antibiotic to treat it, this bug develops resistance to it.

LIFIDEP Donates Fish Farming Materials to Farmers of Misaje Sub Div

Before handing over the material estimated in millions of FCFA to beneficiary farming groups, the President of Misaje Fish Farmers Cooperative, Ngariwa Lawrence expressed gratitude to the Livestock and Fisheries Development Project-LIFIDEP for the timely support. Misaje sub Division he added has the potentials to produce fish and that the support will stimulate farmers to go back into fish farming as a reliable source of revenue and protein.
Recognizing the importance of fish to food security and it's nutritional value, is one of the preoccupations of the Livestock and Fisheries Development Project (a baby project of MIDENO) headed by Mbipeh Pius Sirdiki. However, promoting fish farming or aquaculture which should be done to maintain or sustain the farms, given the challenges that both fisheries and aquaculture are face in terms of sustainability and governance is what the project is trying to put in place. Notwithstanding, experts say the solution is the development of sustainable aquaculture, that generates less pollution, generates jobs, and ensure food self-sufficiency. Prospects are high that Donga Mantung should regain its past glories by developing the aquaculture sector.
The population’s appetite for fish is steadily growing. Carps and tilapia currently make what is mostly available in majority of farms.

Why Messi is World's Highest Paid Player

It has been revealed that Argentine and Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi, has become the best paid player in the world.

Argentine and Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi

AFP in a new report has revealed that Barcelona’s Argentinian striker Lionel Messi, who recently extended his contract with the Catalan club, is now “the best-paid player in the world,” according to a statement by club president Josep Maria Bartomeu on Friday.
This comes after Messi on Wednesday agreed to extend his contract until 2021, in a deal that will keep the five times winner of the Ballon D’Or at the club until he is 34.
No financial terms were disclosed but Bartomeu told the Barcelona sports daily Mundo Deportivo: “He is the best player in the world and he is paid like the best in the world and in the history of football.
“He is the best-paid sports player because no one brings as much to his club as Leo Messi.”
Prior to his contract extension, Messi was the third highest paid sportsman in the world with an income of $80, million of which 53 million was in salary and bonuses, according to the ranking published by Forbes magazine in June.
His great rival, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal, topped the ranking with $93 million, of which 58 million was in salary and bonuses, ahead of American basketball player LeBron James ($86,2 million of which 31,2 million in salary and bonuses).

Nigeria Police Debunk Rumours That Notorious Kidnapper Vanished from Prison

The Nigerian Police has released an official statement debunking rumours that dreaded kidnapper Evans reportedly escaped from prison.

Kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme George Onwuamadike alias Evans
The police said  today that the arrested kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme George Onwuamadike alias Evans is still in their custody and has not vanished. The spokesman of  Police  Jimoh Moshood, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CPS),  said Evans  was safe and still under police watch.
Moshood was denying a sensational story published today by a Nigerian newspaper that Evans had vanished in police cell and is no more communicado. Moshood  urged Nigerians to not fret over the reported “vanishing” of suspected kidnap kingpin.
Moshood said investigation was still ongoing, adding that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as all ends were tied.
“The media need to avoid stories that could create fear, tension or misrepresentation among the masses. Where did Evans vanish to? That headline was misleading. The suspect and his accomplices are very much in our custody.

“We are working hard to ensure that justice is served at the end of the day. There are certain information that are not for public consumption to avoid jeopardising investigation or even national security.

“Evans is with the police. His whereabouts is known but cannot be made public. We are appealing to Nigerians to remain calm and support the police to conclude its investigation.”

What You Don't know About Masturbation (Must Read)

Masturbation is often used as an escape or coping activity for stress, anger, loneliness, tiredness, fear and generally for s*xual satisfaction.
File photo

Masturbation also known as self-s*x is the erotic stimulation of one’s self s*xually. It is done with hands, fingers, a vibrator and lubricants that stimulates one’s genitals for s*xual satisfaction.
Masturbation is addictive and very rampant too. It is an activity few talk about but many partake in. Therefore, we shouldn’t shy away from talking about it.
Although masturbation is often associated with males, it is performed by both genders.
Most people learn to masturbate during adolescence, but the number of females who indulge in self s*x cannot be compared to their male counterparts.
Masturbation is often used as an escape or coping activity for stress, anger, loneliness, tiredness, fear and generally for sexual satisfaction. Most people that indulge in this act can’t go a day without masturbating.
Like any s*xual activity, masturbation helps release endorphins, a chemical in the body that promotes a sense of happiness and can relieve stress.
A study from Harvard’s Health Professional Followup also showed that masturbation may help lower the risk of prostate cancer in men, but you and I know honestly that men have not been masturbating all these years because they want to boost their prostate health.
Unfortunately, not all of the possible side effects of masturbation are necessarily good.
Masturbation most times serves as a chronic way to avoid intimacy with others, which can cause anxiety in the long run. Chronic masturbation can actually change your personality.
S*xual intercourse between two people has many benefits for men and women. It reduces blood pressure, promotes heart health and prostate health. It also promotes companionship and creates stronger bond. But masturbation doesn’t have all these health benefits.
You may argue that it is low-risk and you are not hurting anybody, and it’s the safest form of sex because no one has ever caught an STD from himself or made herself pregnant. But is it really low-risk activity?

The risks involved in Masturbation very much out weighs the gains.

Signs of chronic masturbation include:

1. Extreme absent-mindedness.
2. Nervousness.
3. Deep desire for isolation, yet has feelings of loneliness.
4. Highly irritable or easily irritated.
5. Day dreaming.
6. Make excuses when it is sex time with partner.
7. Forgetfulness, and poor retention leading to difficulty in school.
8. Sadness.
9. Moodiness and depression.
10. Suicidal thoughts in some cases.
11. Generally pessimistic.
12. Extra sensitive to guilt, shame, and regret, low self esteem and poor confidence level.
Frequent masturbation can cause serious skin irritation. Forcefully bending an erect penis can rupture the chambers filled with blood, which can lead to a condition called penile fracture or swelling. Most men will need surgery to repair it.
Masturbation and s*xual fantasy creates a major barrier to having healthy and fulfilling relationships, because you become easily bored sexually with your partner.
When it comes to having s*x with the man or woman you love, you end up choosing porn, fantasy and masturbation over them. You just no longer desire s*x with a real person.
Another effect of masturbating is that when you have prolonged intercourse with your partner, you can’t experience orgasm. Most men that masturbate often pull out of the woman, then use their hand with the help of lubricant on their genital and in less than 2 minutes, they are able to climax.
Females most commonly masturbate by stroking or rubbing the vulva, especially the clitoris, with hands and fingers until orgasm is reached.
With repetition, your brain can learn to prefer s*xual fantasy and masturbation to real sexual intimacy with your spouse. As a matter of fact, your brain’s arousal circuit can become so dominantly wired for self-sex that physical intimacy with your spouse or your partner becomes increasingly difficult and eventually impossible. Your partner is left hurting, rejected, replaced, betrayed, and deceived.
Most men and women who are s*xually potent but masturbate suffer a form of s*xual impotence towards their partner. This s*xual impotence is a situation where they have increasing difficulty getting aroused by their partner.
They believe they give themselves better pleasure than any other person does. Giving up on s*x with your partner because of self-s*x means it is time to consider seeing a s*x therapist.
You can overcome masturbation because the human brain is neuro plastic, meaning it is moldable and changeable. Behaviours can be learned and unlearned and replaced with healthier ones. Individuals can get to a place they are able to enjoy healthy sexual intimacy in a long-term committed relationship.
Make an earnest resolution to overcome masturbation. Remind yourself always that you will not die if you don’t self-sex. Learn to not isolate yourself from people and when in the midst of people be very present minded.
If you are addicted to masturbation, avoid pornography or whatever thoughts that arouses such desires that will ultimately lead to self s*x.
When it comes to having s*x with your partner, be mentally and psychologically present, encourage him or her on how to help you enjoy s*x better with them.
Be prayerful if you believe in the efficacy of prayers. Talk to a psychotherapist for professional guidance. Always remember you are in charge of your mind. You can stop masturbvating if you desire.

LIFIDEP Donates to Fish Farmers of Nkambe Central

This is so following the donation of support equipment to fish farming groups of Nkambe central sub division. Grouped under a cooperative, one of the leaders Mbunkur Julius expressed thanks to LIFIDEP for the timely support that will go along way to boost fish farming in Nkambe. With this support Julius says prospects are high that farmers will be able to mitigate the phenomenon of climate change given that some water sources have dried off. The abusive cultivation of eucalyptus trees in wetlands is also one of the major factors. A similar exercise is expected in Nkambe, Ndu, Nwa and Ako to enable fish farmers establish more fish farms that could sustain their families.
The population’s appetite for fish is steadily growing. Carps and tilapia currently make what is mostly available in majority of farms.

Taking On North Korea at the G20

North Korea’s test of an intercontinental ballistic missile during the week of the Hamburg summit injects an air of crisis into an already tricky set of meetings.
North Korea’s nuclear weapons program has surged to the front of an already crowded agenda for the Group of Twenty (G20) summit convening July 7–8 in Hamburg, Germany. Pyongyang has once again challenged the world’s leading nations to confront the possibility of war. Half a world away in Northeast Asia, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) threatens a conflict that could draw in not only South Korea, but also Japan and three of the world’s leading nuclear powers: China, Russia, and the United States.
North Korea claimed it launched a Hwasong-14 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on July 4. The missile, if refined, could reach parts of the United States. Pyongyang’s state media boasted the latest missile reached an altitude of 2,802 kilometers, which if correct could provide it with a maximum range of 6,700 kilometers on a standard trajectory. This means that Kim Jong-un may have the ability today to strike Alaska, but not yet the contiguous United States.
U.S. President Donald J. Trump discussed North Korea’s accelerated missile testing with all three of its neighbors just prior to the launch. South Korean President Moon Jae-in, on his first trip to Washington since he was elected on May 9, issued a joint statement with his host on June 30. In the statement, the two leaders “pledged to continue to coordinate closely to achieve [their] shared goal of complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in a peaceful manner.” President Trump also spoke by telephone to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping prior to Tuesday’s national holiday, anticipating a new launch. On Twitter, Trump made known his frustration not only with Kim Jong-un, but also with Beijing.
The G20 was largely designed for economic discussions, but its members now prefer to discuss the rules and norms of a shifting world order. This year, a more dangerous set of issues are at play, including the war in Syria and North Korea’s nuclear breakout, which bring the competing strategic interests of the U.S., Russia, and China front and center. If Trump is to gain any ground on North Korea, he will need to match the diplomatic skills of Putin and Xi, as well as articulate a strategy that can garner the support of U.S. allies.
The G20 will likely issue a condemnation of North Korea’s provocative missile tests, but even better would be a renewed commitment by its members to fully implement UN Security Council sanctions. Such a statement would not only amplify global condemnation of Pyongyang, but also endorse once again the United Nations as the appropriate body for deliberations on collective security.

The Stakes in Northeast Asia

Japan, South Korea, and the United States have urged the Security Council to once again take up the challenge of a belligerent Pyongyang. The ICBM launch has revealed the failure of past efforts to walk North Korea’s leaders back from their commitment to developing a nuclear arsenal.

The ICBM launch has revealed the failure of past efforts to walk North Korea’s leaders back.

For North Korea’s non-nuclear neighbors, this slowly unfolding nightmare has accelerated alarmingly in recent months toward a potential military showdown. Seoul has long lived under the threat of violence from Pyongyang, with its leaders assassinated, its citizens abducted, and its fishermen captured and, at times, killed. In 2010, the North took aim at a South Korean naval vessel, killing nearly half of those on board, and months later shelled a small island, killing civilians and military personnel.
Meanwhile, Japan has listened to the invective of North Korea since the end of the Korean War and discovered that the Kim regime also abducted their citizens—some while traveling in Europe and others directly from Japanese territory. Now Kim Jong-un aims his growing arsenal of missiles at Japan’s exclusive economic zone, demonstrating his ability to launch strikes across the Japanese archipelago. For the first time, the Japanese too feel the direct threat of North Korea’s military.

Applying ‘Maximum Pressure’

The United States, along with South Korea, has stepped up pressure. The day after the missile test, South Korean and U.S. forces in conducted their own missile exercises to demonstrate their capacity for a precision strike in response to Northern aggression against South Korea. General Vincent K. Brooks, commander of U.S. forces in South Korea, stated bluntly, “Self-restraint, which is a choice, is all that separates armistice and war.”
At the United Nations, U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley suggested that time is running out for action against North Korea. Haley, voicing an increased sense of urgency shared by civilian and military leaders alike, noted that diplomatic options are quickly diminishing.
In a press conference, Japan’s prime minister called on China and Russia to offer “a constructive response,” and its foreign minister argued that this is not a time for dialogue, but rather for increased pressure on the Kim regime. The parliament of South Korea adopted a resolution condemning Pyongyang’s missile launch, stating, “The North Korean authorities themselves will have to bear the price for their provocative behavior and we gravely warn that it could result in the Kim Jong-un regime facings its collapse and extinction.”

The Task in Hamburg

In Hamburg, the world’s great powers should undertake a complex diplomatic effort to shape the future strategic order of Northeast Asia. At the very least, the escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula are bad for markets, and a conflict, if one were to break out, could be a disaster for the world economy. The future of the Korean Peninsula and the security of all who live near it is at stake, and the world’s major powers—the United States, China and Russia foremost among them—want a say in how this will turn out. These three powers once came together with South Korea and Japan in the Six-Party Talks to offer Pyongyang a peace treaty and guarantee of its safety in return for denuclearization. North Korea, however, was not willing to bargain away its nuclear card.
Thus, the G20 meeting could reveal the emerging contours of a global response to Kim Jong-un’s ICBM and his defiant walk across the nuclear threshold. Major powers have failed to prevent it, the question now is can they find a way to deny Pyongyang the benefits of nuclear weapons.
Russia and China have already begun to set the tone, opposing the launch but asking to avoid military escalation. In a joint statement, the two nations suggested, as a start to negotiations, that Pyongyang issue a moratorium on missile testing in exchange for South Korea and the United States carrying out no further large-scale joint exercises. In the past, Kim’s father accepted negotiated moratoriums on testing—in talks with the United States in 1999 and in talks with Japan in 2002—to open negotiations on broader issues. But Kim Jong-un is not his father, and neither Putin nor Xi have a personal relationship with him. In fact, neither has met him since he assumed power.
Whether Moscow and Beijing will be seen as honest brokers in efforts to confront North Korea remains to be seen. But their efforts to oppose the deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Air Defense (THAAD), the new missile defenses that Washington and Seoul have deployed, have raised concern among U.S. allies that they are seeking to derail the alliances that have deterred aggression and kept the peace in Northeast Asia for almost seventy years. China holds all of the economic cards when it comes to putting pressure on the DPRK, but Russia too has a stake in prevention escalation.

No Easy Answers

For North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies, this security crisis should resonate deeply, as Moscow’s grumbling over upgrades to their own defenses has raised similar concerns. For President Trump, the stakes for this multilateral meeting are high, and he can ill afford the diffidence and isolation that characterized his last trip to Europe.
While the current crisis may affect Asia the most, how Washington manages it will have global consequences. Denying Kim Jong-un’s ambitions could bring the nations of the world together, or it could leave them unable to unite. The G20 is an unwieldy forum for generating diplomatic consensus, but it can assert how high the stakes are, and the United States can demonstrate there that it is interested in and committed to working with others to confront some of the world’s most serious and difficult problems.

Ghana Launches Its First Satellite

 ****Courtesy BBC

GhanaSat-1, which was developed by students at All Nations University in Koforidua, was sent into orbit from the International Space Centre.
Cheers erupted as 400 people, including the engineers, gathered in the southern Ghanaian city to watch live pictures of the launch. The first signal was received shortly afterwards.
It is the culmination of a two-year project, costing $50,000 (£40,000).
It received support from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
The satellite will be used to monitor Ghana's coastline for mapping purposes, and to build capacity in space science and technology.
Project coordinator Dr Richard Damoah said it marked a new beginning for the country.
"It has opened the door for us to do a lot of activities from space," he told the BBC.
He said it would "also help us train the upcoming generation on how to apply satellites in different activities around our region.
"For instance, [monitoring] illegal mining is one of the things we are looking to accomplish."

For Couples Only: Why 3pm is the Best Time for You - Experts Make New Revelations

As human beings, hormones have huge implications on our s*x life, as well as the feelings we experience afterward. But then, these hormones fluctuate throughout the day, such that at some point, they peak, and at other times, they reduce in production.
File photo
The best time of day to make love is 3pm when most of us are at work, that’s apparently when men and women are most in tune with each other’s desires, Dailymail UK reports.
In the afternoon, women have high levels of the hormone cortisol, which helps alertness, and are at their most energetic. Around the same time, men have elevated levels of oestrogen, making them ‘more emotionally present’ during s*x.
Hormone expert Alisa Vitti, described 3pm as the ‘afternoon delight’, saying it was the perfect compromise for both s*xes’ satisfaction, with men giving women the ‘emotional support’ they crave while still getting plenty of enjoyment.
Miss Vitti, author of the hormone guide WomanCode, said that while men sleep, they produce testosterone, a key hormone in s*xual arousal and performance. Levels peak in the early to mid-morning, meaning this is the perfect time for a man to have s*x.
"Men are more interested in initiating s*x during this window and are more capable of a better s*xual response," she added.
However, the late afternoon is another good time for men to have sex because, while their testosterone levels go down, their oestrogen levels rise.
"While this may not seem like a logical set-up for satisfaction, given the previous endorsement of testosterone, the combination actually makes men more emotionally present during s*x and better able to focus on (a woman’s) needs and satisfaction," said Miss Vitti, adding, "You can see why “afternoon delight” is a thing."
She also said the best time of the month to have s*x was during the ten days or so after ovulation, when ‘women experience a surge in oestrogen and testosterone that causes their desire to skyrocket’.
She added that at this point women ‘feel way more appreciative of receiving pleasure’.
However, she said: "The best time for women to get it on, no matter the phase, is midday to late afternoon.
"This is when cortisol is still abundant and energy is high. The trick to having a truly satisfying s*x life is for partners to figure out how to synchronise their libidos," said Miss Vitti, who calculated that the best compromise between the two s*xes is 3pm.
Unfortunately, being at work at this time of day is likely to prove a challenge for many couples. Previous research has shown that the human body produces a surge in s*x hormones and a rush of adrenaline first thing in the morning.
Because of this, s*x researchers have suggested that is the best time of day to procreate. "In men, testosterone levels peak around 7am, while you’ll both be fully rested, with heightened senses," said s*x therapist, Suzie Hayman, adding that women ‘tend to be more tactile and responsive’ while waking up.

Lesson from Nigeria: Female Student Develops Cure for Breast Cancer

The World Bank Education Director, Dr Jaime Saavedra Chanduvi has revealed that a major breakthrough in the cure for cancer might have been found by a female scientist.

Female student of the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, Sandra Musujusu

A female student of the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, Sandra Musujusu, has made a scientific breakthrough after developing an alternative treatment for breast cancer.
Accoriding to TribuneOnline the scientific breakthrough might lead to a lasting solution in the treatment of breast cancer prevalent among women world over.
This was made known on Tuesday in Abuja when the World Bank Education Director, Dr Jaime Saavedra Chanduvi with his team visited the University as part of his assessment tour of the 10 African Centres of Excellence (ACE) centres.
The World Bank has committed about $10 billion for the ACE project in Nigeria, as part of efforts to encourage conduct of cutting-edge research and specialisation of the beneficiaries institutions in specific development problems faced in Nigeria and indeed the African continent.
AUST, is hosting one of the Centres of Excellence, known as Pan African Material Institute (PAMI), with research focus electrical power, disease detection and treatment.
Musujusu, research, using macromolecular science is aimed at developing bio-degradable polymer material which could be used as alternative for the treatment of breast cancer in the near future.
She revealed that her research focuses on triple negative breast cancer which is the aggressive sub-type of breast cancer that is common with women from African ancestry.
Musujusu, a Sierra-Ionian national is conducting the research under the sponsorship of the Pan African Materials Institute (PAMI).
Out of 19 African Centres of Excellence, 10 Nigerian tertiary institutions won slots to churn out special research works that could compete effectively with global standards.
The ACE universities include Redeemers University, Mowe; Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; University of Jos, Jos; University of Benin; and African University of Science and Technology, Abuja.
Others are University of Port-Harcourt; Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife; Bayero University, Kano; Benue State University, Makurdi; and Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
It would be recalled that when the Ebola Virus Disease broke out in Nigeria in the year 2014, one of the ACE centres, Redeemers University served as the testing site before it was brought under control.
Musujusu said, “My research is actually centred on the development of bio-degradable polymers for treatment of breast cancer.”
“I will be focusing on triple negative breast cancer which is actually the aggressive sub-type of breast cancer that is common with women from African ancestry.”
“I believe there is a bright future for Africa, and as a woman there is much more we can do if we are empowered. This award given to me by PAMI has empowered me to face my studies with more confidence and actually contribute to the frontier of knowledge and move Africa forward.”

Nobody Can Remove Magu - Nigerian Vice President Fires Back at Jitters

The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday, said that nobody, not even the Senate can remove Ibrahim Magu, as the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission.
Osinbajo

Speaking while commissioning a zonal office of the EFCC in Kaduna on Thursday, the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, said that nobody can remove Ibrahim Magu, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
The acting president who was represented by the Governor of Kaduna,  Nasir el-Rufai, described Magu as a “nightmare for corrupt people”.
He said; “We have confidence in Magu to fight corruption to a standstill. He will remain the EFCC chairman as long as I remain the acting president and as well as Muhammadu Buhari remains the president.
“It is our belief that Magu will continue to remain a nightmare for corrupt people for years to come.”
Osinbajo made the bold statement as Nigerian Senators on Tuesday, criticised the acting president Yemi Osinbajo for allegedly questioning their constitutional authority to confirm the nomination of appointees by the executive arm.
The Senators had expressed concern about the refusal of the executive to drop Ibrahim Magu as the acting chairman of the EFCC after his nomination was rejected twice by the upper legislative chamber.
At the resumed plenary after the Eid-el-Fitr holidays, Senate President Bukola Saraki backed a series of resolutions by senators against the executive, including one that demanded an immediate retraction of Osinbajo’s comment, which some of them said was antithetical to a democratic system.

Rigour/Moralisation: President Biya Dismisses 4th Grade Magistrate.

President of the Republic recently signed a decree dismissing Pascal Magnaguemabe, a 4th grade magistrate for misconduct. Pascal Magnaguemabe was fired for alleged abuse of powers of attorney and corruption over a family succession affair. The text signed by President Paul Biya however specified that the magistrate still keeps the right to his pension. The sacking of Pascal Magnaguemabe, comes a month after Biya chaired the Higher Judicial Council meeting.
This decision by the Head of State has had diversified interpretations as many see it as a warning signal to check corrupt practices in the judiciary. The sacking of this 4th grade magistrate who was seen as the untouchable by many is therefore a warning signal that no one is above the law.

Putin Denies Election Meddling in Meeting with Trump

July 7 (UPI) -- President Vladimir Putin again denied Russian involvement in U.S. election meddling during his first meeting Friday with President Donald Trump.
The two leaders met for more than 2 hours ahead of the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany. The get together was initially scheduled to last 30 to 45 minutes. It's the first time Trump and Putin have met face-to-face since the U.S. presidential election.
Earlier in the day, Putin and Trump shook hands for the first time. A brief video clip released by a German television network showed Trump approaching Putin and initiating the handshake. The two men smiled broadly as they then stood shoulder to shoulder briefly before the video ended.
"We have spoken on the phone with you several times on very important bilateral and international issues. But phone conversation are never enough," Putin said during the portion of the meeting open to reporters.
"We're going to have a talk now, and obviously that will continue. But we look forward to a lot of very positive things happening for Russia, for the United States, and for everybody concerned," Trump added.
They were joined in the meeting by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Russian foreign minister Sergey V. Lavrov, as well as two interpreters.
Putin and Trump discussed a number of topics, including the fighting in Syria, tensions in Ukraine, as well as the fight against terrorism and cybercrime.
The two leaders were able to agree to a cease-fire to begin Sunday in the southwestern portion of Syria.
Tillerson told reporters Trump pressed Putin on Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Putin again denied the accusations.
Tillerson said the denial is a "hindrance in the ability of us to move the U.S.-Russia relationship forward."
Trump has promised a friendlier diplomatic approach to and greater cooperation with Russia, but both Trump and Putin have been publicly critical of one another in recent days.
On Thursday, Trump called on Russia to halt its support for the Syrian government, propping up a yearslong civil war. He also called on Russia to stop fomenting violence in eastern Ukraine and end its cooperation with Iran.
For his part, Putin was quoted in Russian state media in the run-up to the G20, jabbing at Trump's economic and trade policies, saying Russia opposes "the growing policy of protectionism."
During the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump lauded Putin as a "strong leader" and promised to seek more cooperation with the Kremlin, though that has proven elusive since Trump arrived in the White House.
Trump, as recently as April, said, "We're not getting along with Russia at all."
The Trump-Putin meeting played out as a special prosecutor in the United States ramps up his investigation into whether Trump or his campaign colluded with Russian efforts to meddle in the 2016 presidential election to Trump's benefit. U.S. intelligence officials have said it is all-but certain top-level Russian officials, including Putin, signed off on plans to hack Democratic groups and members of Hillary Clinton's campaign in a concerted effort to hamper their electoral prospects and put Trump in office.
Trump has denied any collusion with the Russians and said he believes the Russia investigation is a "witch hunt" aimed at undermining his presidency.
Trump continued to face domestic political pressure as part of the fallout from the Russia investigation. In a letter signed by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and four of his colleagues, the lawmakers urged Trump to push back against Russia's election hacking.
Trump, the letter states, needs to make "absolutely clear Russian interference in our democracy will in no way be tolerated."

Pastor Beats Politician at Polls, Emerged President of his Countr

A Presbyterian clergyman has won the votes to lead his country after defeating a former prime minister to become the President.
A photo taken on July 6, 2017 shows President-elect pastor Tallis Obed Moses arriving at Parliament in Port Vila
Vanuatu elected a pastor as its new president Thursday as the tiny pacific nation eyes continued “moral leadership” following the sudden death of its former head of state last month, local media said.
According to AFP, the popular pastor identified Tallis Obed Moses, a Presbyterian and clergyman most of his life, was sworn in after winning 39 votes against former prime minister Maxim Carlos Korman’s 17 votes.
He will now replace Baldwin Lonsdale, an Anglican priest who was elected to the presidency in 2014 but died of a heart attack in mid-June in the capital Port Vila.
“It came right down to the last vote,” the Post’s Dan McGarry said of the nail-biting finish, which followed three rounds of voting and involved 16 candidates.
Religion plays an important role in Vanuatu, whose 270,000 population is largely Christian, with the majority Protestants and about 12 percent Catholic.
McGarry said support for Moses stemmed from a desire for “moral leadership”.
“He is well-regarded within his community and within the church. He is somebody to whom the nation will be looking for a degree of moral leadership.
“Our constitution says that the office of the president symbolises the unity of the people… and there are occasions when that becomes a very important issue.”
The electoral college consists of 52 members of parliament and six provincial presidents. Voting in the fourth and final round included one absentee and one invalid ballot.
Although the president’s role is considered largely ceremonial, Lonsdale became a symbol of hope for Vanuatu when Cyclone Pam caused severe damage in early 2015.
Six months later he steered the country through a political crisis when half the government of prime minister Sato Kilman was convicted of corruption, making them ineligible for office.

Why Arsenal Smashed Transfer Record for Lacazette - Wenger Opens Up

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has revealed exactly what he saw in Alexandre Lacazette, which made him sanction a club record deal for the player.

Arsene Wenger believess that Alexandre Lacazette “is a great addition” for Arsenal.
The 26-year-old who signed for the Gunners from Lyon on a five-year contract with a bumper £200,000-per-week deal, will be the top earner at the Emirates.
The striker who on Wednesday finally sealed his £46.4million exit from Lyon, discussed his desire to follow in the footsteps of French Arsenal legends such as Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira.
While speaking on the club's latest acquisition, the Gunners boss, Wenger is in no doubt of what Lacazette can add to the squad.
“We are very happy to have Alexandre join our group. He has shown over a number of years that he can score goals and that he is a very efficient finisher. As well, he has very interesting technical qualities and a strong character,” Wenger said on the club’s official website.
“He is a guy who is a great addition for us, and someone who will help us challenge at the top level this season.”
Lacazette is expected to be part of the squad which heads to Australia and then China on tour this weekend, with a home debut likely in the Emirates Cup at the end of July.
The arrival of Lacazette may have bolstered the Gunners attack, but it also casts doubt over the future of fellow France international, Olivier Giroud, who has been linked with a £20million move to both Everton and West Ham.
Arsenal also are looking to tie down key men Sanchez, linked with Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, as well as Ozil, both of whom have just one year left on their current deals.

President Buhari Gets Recognition from English Dictionary

The 74 year old political leader has made a huge mark in Nigeria with his name written on the sands of time with gold never to be washed away easily.

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari might be sick and probably enduring some unpopular moments in his political career due to the crises in Nigeria but he has achieved a milestone in his life.

He has broken the nation's record as the first Nigerian to enter the English dictionary. He is the first Nigerian to have a political term - "Buharism" named after him.

According to the Wikipedia, "Buharism is a term rooted in the politics of Nigeria, referring to the economic principles and the political ideology of the military government of Nigeria headed by General Muhammadu Buhari from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985. This ideology shares common features with fascism; the government was a right-wing nationalist government that pursued corporatist economic programs and curtailed personal freedoms. Economic reforms were characterised as moving the political economy away from the control of a "parasitic" elite, and into the control of an emerging "productive" class. Buharism represented a two-way struggle: with external global capitalism and with its internal agents and advocates."

Buhari is widely hailed as a strong man of integrity who is cleansing Nigeria of the cancer of political corruption. His faltering health has constituted a setback but it is hoped that the All Progressives Congress chieftain and Fulani native will surmount the challenges before him for the betterment of Nigeria.

Tupac Shakur Prison Letter to Madonna Resurfaces, Goes to Auction

July 6 (UPI) -- A prison letter rap icon Tupac Shakur addressed to Madonna that details why he ended their relationship has resurfaced.
"For you to be seen with a black man wouldn't in any way jeopardize your career - if anything it would make you seem that much more open and exciting," Shakur wrote in the letter that was released by TMZ that is dated January 15th, 1995 at 4:30 a.m.
"But for me, at least in my previous perception, I felt due to my 'image,' I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was. I never meant to hurt you," he continued.
The letter, which was written as he served time on sexual abuse charges while at the Clinton Correctional Facility in New York, will go up for auction at the Gotta Have Rock and Rolle sale between July 19-28, said Rolling Stone, who confirmed the note's authenticity.
Highlights from the letter include Shakur apologizing to Madonna, asking for her friendship and several ominous messages.
"I offer my friendship once again, this time stronger and focused. If you are still interested I would like to further discuss this with you but some of it couldn't wait. I felt compelled to tell you...just in case anything happened to me," he wrote. "Please be careful Madonna. Everyone is not as honorable as they seem there are those whose hearts bleed with envy & evil. They would not hesitate to do you harm!"
Shakur died on Sept. 13, 1996 after being shot during a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
