Meet Hajara Danjuma: First Deputy Mayor of Nkambe Council

Madame Hajara Danjuma is an educationist and a perfect one.  She is the First Deputy Mayor of the Nkambe Council. Her
being elected as First Deputy Mayor was not an error but by merit. When judged from her trappings during the last mandate, she is already entering into records as a development luminary and career politician. Though purely from Muslim background, she is worth celebrating for braving the odds to stand tall from the madding crowd. She is very soft spoken, down to earth, serviceable  and rich in expedient in politics of the CPDM. Though trained educationist, Hajara Danjuma's success in politics continue to act as a spur to women who intend to take leadership positions through politics.
Happy women's day Madame Deputy Mayor

Meet Yaah Patience Tamfu,: The Exemplary Leader

She is CPDM Section President in the United States. Her trappings as a career politician speak volumes. In fact, to have risen above the artificial barriers to be elected Section President in Uncle Sam's country is a feat. If there is any area in Cameroon where the Beijing platform can be assessed, it is in her participation in political and economic sphere which was former a no go one for the woman. This woman has shown that women in leadership could mean a lot to Cameroon. Ever since this daughter of the great statesman, late Hon. SN Tamfu became the sparkling flicker, the ever first woman to strengthen the CPDM party in the United State of America. She has become a symbol that women in leadership position could mean a lot to Cameroon. Hitherto considered a no go zone for women, Yaah Patience Tamfu has not only dismantled the male barriers constructed round politics but has more importantly serve as a woman emancipator. Where two or three are gathered to talk development, Patience Tamfu is always present. Though living in the USA, her contributions to development initiatives in Mbum land are surplus. Congrats Ma Yaah and Happy Women's Day.

Epistle to all Women today March 8, 2022

Temperature is rising and rising as we all look forward to join you in commemorating #IWD2022 to support this year's campaign #BreakTheBias. The theme “gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”. “Advancing gender equality in the context of the climate crisis and disaster risk reduction is one of the greatest global challenges of the 21st century is infact well chosen. I think there is nothing more important than taking advantage of the heavy dose of Mother Earth to commit to memory all your efforts in changing lives positively. Today is March 8,  you should always know that real men will be along to accompany you throughout the year and not just a single day. The pure will be there to #BreakTheBias by joining you in celebrating your social, economic, cultural and political achievements. This is a goal we all stand to achieve for our homes, community, Division, region, Nation, continent and the world at large.
My dear sister, mothers, aunties, some years ago one wise man, (Sa Majeste Michel Kamse, Mayor of Yaounde III) inspired me alot when he advised a couple at wedding. He said beauty lies in a smile, kindness, actions and deeds. And let me contextualize the description by adding that the little you have been doing is what is changing the face of humanity and the progress that we have registered. I salute you for your bravery.  I continue to look up to you as the woman emancipators. From a distant, you stood out of the madding crowd in a world where men (us) claim their position next to God. When in homes, along streets and in drinking spots we still have men who wear Mike Tyson to transform women to bunching bags. I know and I believe you have succeeded where others did not.
In Cameroon, they are millions of women who have moved above the male artificial barriers to becoming Ministers, Directors, Senior Divisional Officers, Parliamentarians, development experts, lawyers, journalists, pastors etc. In fact this rare specie of woman apart from the fact they are caring mothers in their various homes have become role models to other young girls. However, since charity begins at home, I would like to use this opportunity to pay respect, appreciation and love to the woman who brought me to this world, my mum, Regina Muchop as she is known by her young girl’s name and Makfu Miriam Labu Awudu Ma'amu'. Nothing is worth celebrating than a lifetime achievement in purely masculine dominated world. To my personal person, my better half, Beri Comfort, I say thumbs up for constantly challenging the blind exercise of power for me to understand that no institution is immune to change. The story of other women like Rosa Parks, Mother Teresa, Queen Elizabeth, Allen Johnson and many others continue to act as a stimulant to the woman.
The story of other women who are doing extraordinary things in a very common manner will continue to inspire society.

I salute you all, especially Madame Chantal Biya, Minister Mbah Acha Rose, Prof. Nalova, Mafor Yaah Judith epse Achidi, Hon. Esther Ngala Ntala, Hon. Regina Mundi, Hon. Emma Lafon, Edith Kaah Walah, Prof. Uphie Melo Chinje, Col. Ngah Rose Angeline, Yaah Patience Tamfu, Hon. Naomi, Hajara Danjuma, Mary Awudu Ngayi, Sally Ebot Gentry, Christelle Bay Chongwain, Amy Banda, Enaka Yembe, Mbinglo Kimbi Maureen, Comfort Musa, Nakinti Besumbu Nofuru, Angela Fobi, Oba Rose, Clauddia Nsono, DBG Manka'a, Nkenda Margareta, Clemntina Yong, Ada Mbah, Noela Lyonga, Kekwi Linda Kanjo, Wanja Cynthia, Live Brenda and million others.

Thumbs up woman.

Women's Day Role Model(1): Yaah Judith Sunday ’épse Achidi

Mafor Yaah Judith Sunday ’épouse Achidi is the General Manager of CAMTEL. Before she became CAMTEL boss, Mafor Yaah Judith Sunday epouse Achidi has accumulated over 25 years experience in governance and entrepreneurship development. She is one of the most formidable woman of all the women in leadership position. Her astuteness at the helm of Camtel is very positive as she is set to make Camtel leader of mobile network in Cameroon, with Blue CAMTEL. The Blue Camtel product has already registered hundreds of thousands of new subscribers.
Mafor Yaah Judith it should be noted has served CAMTEL in various capacities ranging from regional director for Littoral, South West, North West and Center regions respectively. Before her  appointment, she was Commercial Director. She holds a degree in business administration and Master Degree in Banking and Finance.
Mafor Yaah Achidi Achu Judith Yaah Sunde as she is commonly called is a woman of additional qualities. This is a woman who unlike others is busy round the clock. As a seasoned administrator, she believes like Immanuel Kant that “the more we are busy, the more we feel we are alive and contributing for the welfare of others”. Her educational background coupled with her devotion to be perfect has made her to transform the principle of education for work into the principle of education through work. Reasons why she puts  she had always put the local communities especially youthsand women ahead in all her actions as she believes that by empowering the rural women and youths she would be an avenue par excellence to change lives through work.
As a Christian, she believes like Martin Luther King that “working is praying”. One prelate once said that every human natured person is made up of the human and the divine and that when the divine overrides, the human one becomes closer to God. Yet, Mafor Achidi Achu Judith goes beyond that by making work the divine with the human as a pairs.
Some years ago she defeated all speculations when she donated a football trophy worth a million FCFA for youths in Donga Mantung Division to celebrate the 50 Anniversary of Cameroon’s independence. The event ended in grand style with over 20.000 man crowds at the finals. Her contribution to the welfare of rural women and youths caught the admiration of Donga Mantung Fons and she was coroneted Senior Ma-Yaah of Donga Mantung division. The second edition of the tournament took place at Ndu last year with over 24 football teams taking part. In a bit to promote the football nursery of Donga Mantung Division, Mafor Yaah Achidi Achu has proven that what a man can do, a woman can do it better. Her largesse to rural women of Nkambe Central has been out numbered ranging from farm inputs to maize seeds and others.
Her devotion for work and down to earth nature ignited fons of the North West who coroneted her with the title of “Mafor”
Accompanying rural women through support has been her line of action in fostering women empowerment. What makes her dissimilar from others is that she does uncommon things in a very common manner.
While working for Camtel, she had proven that she is duty conscious. In the Littoral and South West regions where she served as Regional Director of CAMTEL, she left an indelible mark of greatness that speaks positively and confirms the aptitude of women in leadership positions. In the Southwest Region she succeeded in putting in place the optic fiber. In the North West, she is also noted to have transformed the entire service into a bee hive of activities. Putting CAMTEL to the forefront by putting in place new installations at Jakiri, Wum, Nkambe and Oku as well as the terminal optical fibre at the University of Bamenda before her workaholic nature moved her to the head office in Yaounde where she is Director of Urban Development at CAMTEL. Notwithstanding, Mafor Achidi Achu Judith Yaah Sunde is also a great supporter of the CPDM. In the political arena her presence in Donga Mantung Division is often described as a booster to youths and the woman folk. If you have never met a cheese full of prominence, get closer to Senior Ma Yaah Mafor Achidi Achu Judith to rediscover her role as a woman emancipator. She has been at the forefront of women advocacy for peace in the North West and South West region.  He desire to see peace returning to the North West and South West Regions has ignited hopes.

Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle and a veritable People's Call

The Colbert Factor

When renowned French philosopher and foremost thinker, Victor Hugo posited that the greatest most singular source of positive energy was an idea whose time had come, many thought he was just celebrating the transition from Agrarian to industrial revolution, or better still, signalling the inevitable age of the millenials. He could've just as well been capturing the spirit of all those who turned out in Douala last February 25, 2022, to impress on Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle to begin seeing into it that the beliefs, values and principles he has incarnated throughout his life, and especially within the last 30 years, be officially canalized into an institution.

It couldn't have been any other person than the equally no-nonesense President of the South West House of Chiefs and speaker of truth to power, Chief Atem Ebako, to birth the idea that by diligently and meticulously moving from humble beginnings to becoming a human resource and then smoothly transitioning to human capital, Ntumfor had since become institutional material, comparable to any credible institution around the world. According to Chief Atem Ebako therefore, the time for a Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle Foundation had come.

A leading North West Fons Union member, Fon Mbahyamsic had, in an earlier exhortation echoed the same concerns, while demonstrating in truimphant detail, and in a typical Denzel Washington style, that Ntumfor is always falling forward and never backwards. Reason-why he would need be seen to be institutionalizing his beliefs, value systems and principles for the rest of the time that God keeps him alive, and more especially, for posterity.

To the Indian Consular Officer to Cameroon, the institutionalization of Ntumfor's ideas, beliefs, values, attitude, behavour and principles, were an urgency, especially as ours was a society where such principles come in sort supply and where youths lack such role models to look up to. Recall Rev. Nditemeh Charlemangne, Executive President of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC, had earlier wished and prayed for every society to have multiple Ntumfors, while Samuel Kledda, Douala metropolitan Archbishop simply prayed God to continue to bless him in his new endeavours.

Government of Cameroon through Littoral Regional Governor had during the occasion opined it was thanks to the principled values that Ntumfor has incarnated over the years that President Biya always assigns him critical state duties, including his appointment to the National Commission for Bilingualism and Multiculturalism.

In what was therefore a veritable people's call, the institutionalization of Ntumfor's long-held values, beliefs, principles and behavour, simply became an idea whose time has come. Afterall, history is legend with influential figures whose value systems, beliefs, and ideas became the bases of the most renowned and life-changing foundations and institutions the world is proud of today.

Come to think of The Carter Centre, the Clinton, Obama, Bill and Milanda Gates, Elizabeth Glaser, Fisher House, TheJimmy Fund, The Fred Hallows, McArthur, The Robert Woods, The Pew Charity Trust and The Starr Foundations. Closer home, the Koffi Annan and Mo Ibrahim Foundations come to mind. A Ntumfor Nico Halle Foundation would do more than adds beauty to the world, given the enormous challenges our society faces and given the enormous Grace God has bestowed on him.

When we come to think of the fact that institutions, according to Samuel P. Huntington, are 'stable, valued and reccurent patterns of behavour', then there's no gainsaying the fact that Ntumfor may only need to formalize himself as an institution, as he had already been functioning as the 'building block of social order'.

Just like the Rockefeller family foundation is recognized for its patronage of the Arts, while the Kaiser Foundation is closely  associated with public health issues, Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle had been on all fronts, fighting against societal ills and vices like corruption, embezzlement, mismanagement and moral decadence both in the public sphere and in the Church. Above all, he has been indefatigable in promoting justice, human rights, transparency, accountability, good governance and peace, locally and Internationally.

In officially canalizing his beliefs, values and principles, Ntumfor would become an institution in much the same way as traditional institutions like the family, religion, peer groups, Economic systems, legal systems, penal systems, language, Mass media, educational institutions, research community, industry and above all, Civil society.

The institutionalization of the Ntumfor name therefore, may not just be a way to honour a family legacy but a way to pass on its values to future generations.

Ndinwa Benedict Wins Best Mobile Network Communication Director Award

The Director of Communication of CAMTEL, Benedict Ndinwa was last weekend honoured by The Guardian Post newspaper as the Best Mobile Network Communication Director. Readers of The Guardian Post newspaper voted him massively for his communication skills and savoir-faire which has within a very short period taken Camtel Blue amongst leading product in digital communication.
The refined journalist, Benedict Ndinwa is celebrated for his astuteness for work. What made him to stand out of the madding crowd of Directors of Communication is his philosophy to life and work. At his young age,  he is addicted to work and blended with the notion that stumbling blocks in life are stepping stones to go to higher heights. And whenever he speaks, he is soft spoken. To him, anything that is worth doing should be done well or not done at all. As Director of Communication, Benedict became a perfectionist that set standards even for himself. In fact he is the type of journalist that has proven his worth even when he was with L'Action newspaper. Apparently, Benedict Ndinwa has the ardor of a bee and the power of a stallion when it comes to accomplishing a job.
To congratulate him is to get Camet sim card. Oya wuna all buy Camtel sims. Switching to Blue Camtel is the best thing for now

Franklin Ndzi Nformi aka Ta Shey Frank Honoured by The Guardian Post

The Guardian Post newspaper has honoured one of Donga Mantung Division's dynamic fish farmers for his trappings in the sector. Franklin Ndzi Nformi alias Shey Frank received his award last weekend during a fun filled ceremony

Franklin Ndzi Nformi is President of the Nkambe Central Fish Farmers Cooperative and a practical demonstration of a good farmer. He is one of the young men in Cameroon who are trying to help drive progress toward reaching the global Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Transforming food systems that contribute in mitigating the ongoing health, climate and biodiversity crises is what is mostly needed to restore the Earth.
Talk about sustainable Inland fish farming and landscape restoration, the first name that comes to mind is Franklin Ndzi Nformi. Ta Shey Frank as he is fondly called is the President of Nkambe Central Fish Farmers Simplified Cooperative. His being elected President of Fish Farmers was not by error. Anyone who has had the opportunity to visit him in his fish farms surely goes back home more impressed than when he was coming.
Although his activities as a fish farmers are legendary, few people have a full understanding of just how perfect a farmer he actually is. It’s not about how much money you put in, but how much of yourself you put in. Franklin Ndzi Nformi is a man with a huge, huge gifted art of restoring nature.
I remember when he told me he was putting in place a standard fish pond and frankly speaking I took it for a joke. Today, Ta Shey Frank is a formidable farmer. He has transformed the area into a veritable greenery with the regeneration of native trees, fruit trees, banana/plantain trees etc.
Within half an hour at his farms, I was marveled and taken away by what I saw. Six fishponds with the biggest having over 5000 fingerlings of 4 months.

“I want to make it possible for ordinary people to go to eat fish and at affordable price, just like it’s now possible for me to train more youths to be like me,” he explained in his quiet voice. " I think LIFIDEP has done much to the benefit of fish farmers in Nkambe Central and our dream is to produce fingerlings".
I was totally speechless and just pumped him with question after question. I am very enthusiastic when it comes to young men engaging in exemplary farming and restoration. He told me that he started as a passion and now fish farming has become veritable source of income. " In our cooperative, we are 50 active members and we have members that only depend on the fish ponds to earn a living including women. Inland fish farming pays" he added.
From all indications, Shey Frank has followed the trials and triumphs of his remarkable venture to develop a fish venture. From his integrated agroforestry maize farm, he provides green jobs to some youths. Ecotourism could be the next giant leap for Franklin's fish ventures. The two giant bokarous built from natural china bamboo and grass speak by itself .In fact an eldorado in the making

Water is Life, Nkambe Applauds Musa Shey Nfor

For the first time since 1997, taps are following in Nkambe town in the month of February. Water scarcity in Nkambe town was such that it was very difficult for taps to flow in the months of January, February and March. But thanks to the workaholic mayor of Nkambe council, Musa Shey Nfor, taps are flowing in the heart of the dry season. When Musa Shey Nfor was elected mayor in February 2020, he promised that his priority will be to restore water. He has not only restored water but has gone as far improving access to potable water. For one week now, taps have been flowing in Nkambe town. Fresh water is necessary for the survival of all living organisms on Earth. Our bodies are made up of about 60% water and we cannot survive more than a few days without it.
Water is a precious substance that meets our physical needs while at the same time being of great spiritual importance to many people. Water is also an integral part of many ecosystems that support us and a myriad of other species. Last week, many couldn't believe that taps were flowing in February. Yet it came to passed that Mayor Musa Shey Nfor has succeeded where many couldn't by giving the population, the precious substance called water. To succeed in providing water, the mayor of Nkambe council started by saving the water sources. He prohibited human activities in and around water sources. He was personally on the field supervising the demarcation of cstchment areas and falling down high water consumption trees like eucalyptus and replacing them.
With the support of good water engineers, he was able to discover that tapping spring water from Rangong, and adapting a solar pumping system could do the job. Water is pump into the tank using solar system and then distributed by gravity. The system is unique and could serve as source of inspiration to other municipality. Musa Shey Nfor is currently the man of the moment for his savvy sassy skills. Michael Ngwayi says the Nkambe is the most formidable mayor of all times. To Ndapkwi Solace, anyone that gives water, gives life. Children, have been heard chanting songs of praises in honour of the mayor for giving them water. Ngala Harry says he used to leave the house every morning at 4am to fetch water but would never leave the stream before 6am. Everyone has his/her own story to tell about when they sent through to get drinking water. Water is one of our most precious natural resources. Noambe has a fast growing human population, and the expansion of economic activities that comes with it, intensified the pressure on water resources.

Solemnity marks Public Presentation of HRH FON DIVINE NFORMI NFOR

The solemnity that marked the procession and public presentation of the newly enthroned fon of Saah was magnificent. The palace esplanade was jammed to capacity when the "nwarong" announced its appearance. Not even the sound of the bird could be heard, as a lineup of Sheys and Tantohs emerged from the inner palace. Only the gong and members of the nwarong secret society could speak. Third on the line was the Yee-nwarong, and after the Yee-nwarong was the newly enthroned fon. The second on the line raised his voice and said " here is your fon, your ruler". He asked in a high tone " is he your ruler?" And told the people of Saah to response, adding that the nwarong has given them the authorization to response. He asked again. "The man you are seeing here, is he your from"? And the population responded, yes! He continued that the nwarong has said that when there is vacancy in the palace, it is the right of the royal family to aspire, but once one is enthroned, everyone should back paddle. And that the nwarong has said that anyone that dares to look under throne will heat a stone. The nwarong also announced that everyone who has not been able to have a child, will leave the palace blessed with twins. And the nwarong also warned the youth to shy away from thievery and other societal ills.
It took close to 3hours from the Yee-nwarong to move round the palace esplanade. The messages were numerous and before slaughtering the goat at the entrance of the palace, the nwarong warned that it the sacrifice was an oath between the people and them anyone who dares will have his/her self to blame.
Addressing the population few minutes after the solemn outing, HRH Fon Divine Nformi Nfor asked his people to come closer to him. He said if he wronged anyone, he should be forgive and that he has equally forgiven anyone who wronged him knowingly or unknowingly. He extended a hand to the youths of Saah, asking them to join him so that they can develop their village.

It's important to note that this is not the first time Mme Yah Achidi Judith is stepping in to assist the population of Ndu. She offered substantial financial motivation to teachers of Basic Education in Ndu before the start of the 2020/2021 academic year. This gesture partly contributed to the encouraging number of children who returned to school this particular academic year (600 pupils wrote the FSLC exams in Ndu from almost zero the previous year) despite the hostile sociopolitical environment.

The Director General of Camtel also gave financial support to Ndu communities, working alongside the FLO to secure peace in NDU sub division. This very significant and consistent gestures have continued to boast the morale of those working very hard for peace in Ndu sub division. They've worked so hard in cultivating the culture of peace in Ndu sometimes at the peril of their own lives. The relative peace her support has helped us achieved so far has contributed in no small way in paving the way for the great strides Ndu Council has been able to register.

We look forward to the finals of Football and Culture For Peace Tournament tomorrow Friday 31st with lots of optimism. We remain very grateful to the Director General of Camtel, Mme Yah Achidi Judith for her exceptional generosity to our population and her passion for peace and development in our Municipality.

Thank you immensely, daughter of the soil. Thanks to your relentless efforts, the ghost Ndu town we inherited in February 2020 is back to life (despite the pockets of resistance to peace). Ndu has stood up for peace, Ndu stands with BLUE.
